Asa really hated being cold -- and when you're dead, you get cold. He had tried the Blush a few days before, and then cursed himself for being a fool as the excruciating pin-pricks of warmed tissue washed over him.

Well, at least in the cold he didn't have to worry about his pallor.

As he watched the two men pack their meager belongings on the pack animals that would follow the coach, he felt a pang of sadness. He would miss these mountains, and the wildlife. Having grown up in a place much like this, it brought back memories... memories of before.

Asa had waited almost seven months to watch this departure. After getting into the Colorado Springs Electric Company's facility, he had carefully followed the Wizard's instructions. He wished the bastard had warned him what would happen. The ensuing explosion and fire had almost driven him into a Frenzy, and he had scared the shit out of the men sent with him. He'd have to learn to control that a bit better.

As the men and their belongings departed, Asa turned away into the night. After this 'errand', he'd have enough monies to buy interest in the Wizard's company.

Maybe someday that would amount to something, and he could afford some shoes.

Asa really hated being cold.
