Joshua is silent on the drive back to the hostel, brooding. This isn't the sort of thing he knows how to deal with. Investigation of mystical oogy-boogies was never his forte.
God, he needs something to shoot.
He turns the radio up at the first mention of Discovery Park, but has no comment to add.
Animus sits in silence, mentally railing against the vagarities of traffic patterns. Why did this have to happen just when getting there quickly is the most critical? How long until the other arcana activate, and what happens then?
after listening to the radio commentary, Fiddler said, "Sounds like the life stone might be active? there are only four left now, and they seem to be accelerating the rate at which they activate..."
"We certainly don't have much time left. Calligan mentioned the people at the museum looking into it. I hope they've come up with a way to stop it, because we don't have much to go on."
"Maybe we should have headed to the museum," Joshua says over his shoulder as he parks. "Send Calligan a text or something, and see if they've got any idea what to do. Too late now," he says, getting out. Approaching the hostel, he thinks nothing of Calligan not being outside, but then he hears the voices. He holds a hand out in caution to the other three, and his other hand creeps to the small of his back. He jerks his head at the door.
"Who else is in there?" he asks in a low whisper, a hiss. "Do you recognize the voices?"
Letting Zero take the lead, Joshua steps back a bit, so he can keep his sight lines clear. His hands are at his sides now, weapons-free--but he's vigilant, almost twitchy. Or at least he knows how to look it. Lax? You don't say.
Fiddler followed the others in silence. He had never met Calligan, and he didn't want to appear the fool. Remembering his rather unkempt state, he made minor adjustments to his hair and clothing, to ease the weat and tear of his forceful expulsion from the spirit realm.
the park is the number one priority. he thought, and he waited.
