The boy squints in the bright afternoon sun as he waits for Meany and Potty Mouth to respond.
For a moment, the briefest moment, Faith considers asking the kid if he should tell Church-girl where they were going, and what they were going to do. That folly quickly passes, however, when she realizes that it's none of the girl's damn business. At least that's what she tells herself. And besides, she liked the kid. He had some guts.
"Come on, let's go, kid. We'll see what we can do." What, did you really think it would be 'Owen'? She looks down the street one way, then the other. "Which way?"
Owen's face has a look of grim determination as he points down the street.
"This way."
The brave little boy leads the way down the street and towards the house inhabited by his double ganger.
