Daeva Clan Meeting

[Twist]

After the conclussion of the show, each member of the Daeva family is lead through the winding labyrinth of the BDN's backstage. The are escorted to a room with cream walls. Various styles and types of seating furniture is scattered about the room (chairs, poufs, ottomons, loveseats, a couch on one wall, etc...) in a very informal salon style. Rugs, also of varying styles, cover the floors, and a few tables with lamps, again varying styles, are also scattered about. While each piece is distinct and different, and the color scheme seems a faded rainbow, together the room seems to have an eccleticly aesthetic feel to it.

Twist will arrive last, a few papers in her hands, still dressed from the premier of her show.

Argent let himself be led to the meeting, stopping every now and then to admire this or that. He still wore his suit, and despite the ruinous burns on his body, looked presentable.

Well, Lorna had always told him that if he didn't feel great, he could at least always look great.

Or maybe it was one of the older kids in the orphanage, that said he may not look great, but he could make him feel great.

The thoughts flickered through the blonde Zelani's mind like butterflies in a rose garden, but were soon overshadowed by curiosity and concern that there didn't seem to be anyone else. He remained standing, not particularly wanting to tax or tear his wounds further by rising when someone entered.

Argent sighed. If belle fleur wanted to play the Quiet Game, so he would as well.

Hopefully the Priscus would be in a good mood after her tres magnifique show.

Twist took a very small breath, a habit from days of old- probably a tell but she was of no mind to stop. Besides it wasn't as though any would be surprised at why she was- only 2. It wasn't unusual- not but one- or was it two? Did it matter- years ago, it was a similar number. She glanced to Argent and Cassandra, a small frown briefly marring her face- hopefully the low number was the only similarity to that time.

*Gabriel Marcus* - the name flickered briefly through her head, and another thought tried to form as the name reminded her of something, but there wasn't enough and she shoved it away. No need to try and remember that unpleasant affair.

"Mr. Argent, Ms. Dawes-" since it was family, Twist decided to go with more intimate names versus the Invictus standard. Still, wouldn't hurt to at least add the generic American prefixes. "Thank you both for coming. I won't keep you from your evenings long. I hope you both enjoyed the show?"

[Argent]

"It was wondairful," Argent replied with a golf clap.

In truth, he didn't understand any of it, but there'd been enough jumping about and good music that it had kept him interested. Like "The Wall".

"Forgive my manners," he continued, lowering his head, "But I am still recovering from Horizon and bowing is... well, it fucking hurts a lot."

As far as he knew, there had never been a post-op meeting to compare notes, and a braod smile slipped out. He was pretty sure no one else had killed twenty or more of the enemy.

"I must confess, you killed any dreams I had of opening a theater, though, as it would pale in comparison," Argent added with a joking wink. He had no such aspirations, but if you couldn't get stroked with lavish compliments from your own family -- especially Daeva, where could you?

[Twist]

Twist waved a hand, lightly accepting Argent's reasoning for not bowing, and settled into one of the seats, her body melting comfortably against the cushions. "Thank you. I am sure that there are plenty of other entertainment venues for you to pursue. Many of the city seem interested in club or bar scenes, it would be good for our clan to take advantage and snag and monopolize other arenas."

She smiled at Cassandra, "Well you are more than welcome to come back whenever you so wish."

Twist made a small mou with her lips, "This is all the family of note. I am sure there are others who are hiding out in the shadows- either to afraid to bring notice to themselves or simply not wanting to involve themselves with city politics." She gave a small shrug.

"But they aren't worth worrying about. I hope everything else goes well with the two of you?"

[Argent]

Argent sits, stiffly, and there's a moment when his undead eyes almost bulge out of their sockets in pain. Perhaps Ciara's poor judgment so many nights ago could be overlooked.

"Why yes, aside from our tea party at Horizon, there was another incident with the city's indigent... I think I can fairly say that Clan Daeva gave a worthy reckoning of themselves at both," he said, sighing. "Aside from that, I am happy to say I've been quite successful at making friends and building influence throughout the city -- what I may lack in depth, I make up for in versatility."

The last was said with a roguish grin, and self-deprecating laughter. Of course he was a shallow bastard.
