On the drive back to SacU, Henry is mostly silent, except to give him two more pieces of unsolicited advice. "Two more pieces of advice for you. If you're ever with a Mage you don't trust, don't touch him, and don't let him touch you. You let a mage touch you, you're letting him do whatever he wants with you. And last, when you do pick a name for yourself, try to pick something that blends. Huitzilipochtli is all well and good, until you have to sign a lease or a credit card." Apparently it's 'when' you pick a lst name, not 'if'.
The rest of the drive is uneventful, except for his frequent checking of rear-view mirrors and occasionnal pull-overs for no discernible reason.
"I'll keep that in mind." Ryan said as he watched to road pass him by. Whenever they stopped, he gave Henry a weird look. Somehow he was going to have to remember to avoid getting into cars with him next time. Not just because of the bad vibe he got from him, he just took too long to get somewhere. I know some of the stuff he told me can make you cautious, but this is just stupid.
After a few too many stops for Ryan's taste, Henry arrives back at SacU, parking the car. He's tempted to test Ryan by offering him a handshake, but he doesn't, presumably because he knows that even without knowing that stuff about mages touching, Ryan wouldn't shake. His last words to 'the kid' are a simple "Be safe."
Ryan just gives Henry a nod before opening the car door and leaving. There was too much going on and now he just wanted time to actually think. With that, Ryan walked over to the entrance of the dorms and vanished inside.
Henry stays long enough to make sure Ryan gets to the door safely, pretending to be fiddling with the radio all the while. Once he knows the kid is inside, he starts the car again, and heads for his usual parking spot, 5 blocks away from his actual home. Time to check the dead-drops.
