Granite Park patrol

James strode along one of the park's many paths, following a rough circuit around the edge. He wore his old dedicated outfit, t-shirt and jeans and thankfully practical. He hoped he wouldn't need it at this point in time though, but he was aware things could go well, and seemed to do that fairly regularly.

He also remembered the mentions of Magath at the pack meeting and he thought it prudent to see if any of them had turned up in HoG's territory and to try learning some details about why they were appearing if possible.

His plan was fairly simple, to start at the locus and then circle the park, looking across a few times as he did. If nothing appeared glaringly dangerous on the other side, he'd contact Alison to see if she gave the go ahead for him to step sideways. If there -was- something bad.. well, he'd contact her anyway, but put the Gauntlet crossing part on a very firm hold.

He therefore looked across at the locus and then at three points, roughly an equal distance apart, around the edge of the park, resolving to check the centre if nothing showed up.

Between the locus and the second point he checks, he shoots off a quck text to Sally.

James' brief glimpses into the spirit world, murky and brief as they are, reveal nothing unusual. There's the Death Spirit lying on the bench by the locus, like it always is. Motes, well, peeking across the gauntlet is never clear enough to pick those out anyway. If there are any other spirits in the park they don't happen to be where he's looking.

James heads back to the locus, sending off a text to Alison on the way.

After receiving and responding to Alison's text James settles himself as the locus, stretching out his legs and relaxing some as he waits for Alison to arrive. His thoughts turn to Jameson briefly and he sighs, shaking his head and wondering where the uppity Hunter had gone.

The thought of him having simply left was worrying, espiecally with the state the HoG was in. If it was just him and Alison left.. James sighed and shook his head, relaxing wouldn't really work now, his head was too troubled.

There were that Seekers, and that suggestion by Sally, but James didn't know how to suggest to Alison that she give up on something she'd put so much effort and heart into, everyone else who should have been there for her was gone, and it was just him left. He'd betrayed and abandoed her once, he'd die before doing that again.

[Alison Yates]

A motorcyle pulled into the park and came to a stop and James instantly recognized it as Alison's red and black Hayabusa. She hopped off and stored her bike helmet before heading toward her waiting packmate and she gave James a smile as she approached wearing her riding leathers.

"Hey, how's it going? I couldn't let you head out alone and there are a few things I wanted to check out if we could."

James nods and stands with a smile to conceal his troubled thoughts. "Hey Ali, and thanks." He nods, glancing towards the locus. "I had a stroll around the park and looked across a few times. I couldn't see anything obivously hostile, but that doesn't always mean a lot. What were you wanting to look into? The magath reports?"

[Yog-Sothoth]

"Well, we're going to have to look into those. But first there I wanted to speak with a spirit about our you know what, the park, and a certain structure. We'll head to the river after that I think to look things over."

She noticed the absence of Jameson and sighed inwardly. Was she just fooling herself? Maybe HOG really was dead and she was just stubbornly refusing to admit it.

[Donan]

James nods and after a glance around to make sure there are no nosy humans in the immediate vicinity this time holds out his hand. "Who's to lead the way?"

[Alison Yates]

"I'll do it," she said as she lead her way over to the bench near the skatepark that served as their Locus. After looking around to make sure that no one was watching she grasped Jame's hand, so she could act as pathfinder, and began to focus on crossing through the gauntlet.

The Gauntlet modifier in parks is -2, and pathfinding for James levies an additional -1 penalty to Alison's roll. Subtracting three dice from the right removes all successes, making Alison's pathfinding attempt a failure. James may attempt to pathfind, or Alison can try again in an hour.
