LOL, my bad. There's a second stairwell to the sewers closer to where Argent was running away. He exits scene with the other Frenzied people.

As the blows rain into him, Jayant is quite surprised to have come through it relatively unscathed, and as one punch knocks him aside, he sidesteps the final punch and breaks free, becoming a blur and heading for somewhere far more safer than here.
