"I'm so tired," Asa told her, kissing her cheek and settling down into his chair.

That was putting it lightly. Night after night of altering the memories of his work crew, recovering from the Lost Nights, and helping the ghouls recover, had kept him exhausted. His other... project... as well.

He reached out and took her hand, running his fingers over hers absentmindedly.

"Twist will be joining the Invictus,"
Asa continued. "I've spoken with Culler -- he's the only one that would know what I'm doing, but she's earned it." A sigh. "Besides, the more influence she wields, the greater an asset she becomes," he added.

A bit defensive?

"Culler seems to be doing well, and I saw Konstantin at Court,"
Asa continued, changing the subject.

He rubbed the bridge of his nose. So tired. He had never thought he would have to hold the Domain and Covenant together alone. Let alone the Dynasty.

"So,"
he said, looking at her with a smile, shrugging off the fatigue. This was their time. No sense wasting it wallowing in self pity.

"You had asked me to help you track down a rogue Nosferatu in the sewers..."
