A bruise ripens the same way on the body as it does on a piece of fruit. The difference comes when the body slowly heals the damage, leaving nothing after a couple of weeks; unblemished.

However, as Kindred, we are in some ways just like a piece of fruit. We bruise yet do not heal. The ugly mark spreads and stays forever akin to a dropped apple or squashed peach.

The difference between us, fruit and mortals is that we can heal alot faster than either of them just through the simple act of forcing vitae through our dead limbs.

Why should we care about such a thing? To remember who we are and where we come from, and to ensure we do not become mindless animals.

Or picked fruit, slowly molding as time passes.
