Heathcliff parks his sedan a few blocks away from McCoy's address and waits for Michael to arrive. He turns to Regina and says, "Michael and I will Obfuscate ourselves and see how bad the situation has become." He takes the GPS from his dash and places it inside his jacket pocket. Regina didn't give Heathcliff the impression of a Kindred up on modern technology, but one can never be too careful. "Please wait here until we return. We won't be long."

Michael got out of his car to join the others, looking back at the house with a sneer.
Fuck you Taylor, you and your midlife crisis customers.
He looks back at Heathcliff as he explains to Regina the situation.
"We need to be careful for any dogs that may be around. I almost was discovered by one." he says to Heathcliff before he disappears.

"Of course Mister Staley." Regina gets out, then goes around to sit in the driver's seat, opens the mirror on the sun-visor, and begins examining herself, ensuring she looks good. Or at least, looking like it. She is not an assault trooper about to burn down a house. She is a dilletante who is looking forward to looking good to her date, who works late.

There are no flashing lights over yonder, no sirens shrieking into the night. Michael and Heathcliff will have to get closer to find out what's going on.
The Seneschal nods at Regina, hands her the keys, "For the radio. If you want." He takes one last, lingering look at the woman before turning his attention to Angry Eye Mike. "Alright, Michael. Let's move with all due haste. If there are dogs still present, avoid them." And with that, Heathcliff disappears from view.

Michael cloaks himself as he sees Staley disappear before him.
Why aren't there any sirens I wonder.
Slowly he makes his way towards the house, careful not to walk too fast so as to bump into the Seneschal. He stares at the house as it gets bigger when he gets closer, looking at it one more time before they burn it to ashes.

Regina turns on Coast to Coast AM, amusing herself as they discuss alien abductions. And they think they are so new and clever. Silly Kine. The ventrue that came up with that story was truly a marvel, to have disseminiated it so well.

The reason there are no bright lights, Michael and Heathcliff realize, is that this crime scene is hours old at this point, and the moneyed neighbors complained to the right people about the disturbance to their all-important rest, nevermind the corpse next door. Two cruisers sit parked out front of an entire yard sealed off with yellow crime scene tape. Only one officer stands watch from the front porch, intermittently talking into his radio. Much to Michael's relief, there's no sign of Rawhide. Whether Heathcliff has actually followed the younger Nosferatu, or instead stands outside his car staring at Regina from behind his Cloak, there's no way for Michael to know.

Michael walks under the yellow tape and to the back door where he first entered and looks to see if it's still open.
If the window is still broken maybe I can slither my arm through without causing too much racket. At least that fuckin dog isn't here. Then again if it's just one cop here he probably won't notice too much. I wonder how they reacted to downstairs.

After adjusting her hair, and ensuring that her blood still makes her look quite living, regina begins a small sketch on a piece of paper.

The back door that the woman launched herself through is still shattered, and thus, open for Michael to enter through. One police officer leans against the kitchen table, having himself a cup of joe and looking through his text messages. California cops, huh?
Regina notices a squad car approaching. It stops next to Staley's car and a young, black officer in the passenger seat motions for her to roll the window down.
