(1004) The Spring Festival

Another Season passes. The dark, quiet nights of Winter are coming to an end as the morning glory of Spring is literally on the cusp of taking prominence, and in the world of the Lost, it is time for momentous change. One Sovereign dead and buried, a second banished from the freehold for breaking a sworn pledge, change is paramount.

Something else that is new is the renovated Four Seasons Hotel and as Mr. Bates waits patiently to guide the guests to the 'private party' being held, he looks around the reception, ensuring verything that Ms. White asked for is in place. Even as a member of Autumn, he knew this was going to be an interesting gathering entirely.

[Derek Noble]

Derek arrives early to see if any help is needed with anything. He wears khaki slacks, a green button-down shirt and a green tie decorated with ivy patterns.

Bert arrives at the hotel, unsure of how to have dressed for the occasion. He recalls Al Adin warning him about something he can run in but at the same time it's a formal gathering so he imagined it wouldn't be jeans and a t-shirt either. Instead he compromises by wearing black dress pants under a white button up and jacket. He figures if worst comes to worst he can roll up his sleeves and take off his jacket. With his ears tied back he enters the hotel and scans the room for anyone he recognizes, seeing Mr. Bates but choosing not to bother him as he seems preoccupied already.

As usual, Rick arrives at the Festival alongside Terri. The sky-blue dress shirt he's wearing might be a nod to the ascending court. Of course, it may also have been chosen because of his Elemental nature. He was just fine letting people guess as to his intentions with it, and what statement he may be wearing. He also has a duffel bag slung over one shoulder, containing more practical clothing should he choose to participate in any of the athletic events that had been advertised.

Though he may not have shown it, he was hardly thrilled with the event. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Spring was his least favorite Season. Lack of impulse control combined with a relative disregard for the Gentry, not a combination he was terribly thrilled with. But it was one step closer to Summer, and to Autumn, at least.

[Al-Adin]

Al-Adin smiles as he walks in. He is wearing dark green, very foresty colors. He waves to Mister Bates, as he walks into the party. The laughter of children follows him around, like a gaggle of hangers-on at a rock concert.

[Terri Nutkins]

Terri held onto Rick with her arm slipped easily through his own, beaming as they made their way into the hotel. For some reason, she always hated Spring as urges unbecoming tried to take control and she had no way of releasing or focusing such passions. That was one reason she had joined Autumn at such an early stage upon her return from the World Tree was to learn control and to temper weakness. Now, with Rick, she had both focus and release in equal measure and as she walked to the festival in yet another new dress (one that accentuated Rick's own shirt quite weel she thought) and a new pair of heels, Terri was so full of confidence that she was actually going to take part in the activities she had read about on the flyer placed by Alice, the snowskin they had both recently met at the St. Patrick's day party at Reverance.

Mmmmm. Thinking about the party brought back many wonderfully sublime memories especially what followed as Rick and herself returned home. Smiling up to Rick, she gave him a quick peck on the cheek before adding, "thanks for carrying my stuff also," indicating the bag he had on him that held her own sports clothes for when the coronation was over.

Terri's dress

Alice walked in to the party and quickly glanced around the room making sure everything was in place. She had spent most of the day there before the party decorating and making sure everything got placed correctly and luckily even had an hour or two before the party to even get ready herself. She had just got dressed and made herself presentable.

She wore her Hedge Spun dress from the goblin market. To changelings it was crafted entirely from shimmering dolphin tears that was in love for the first time and gave off an aura of innocent, passionate love. To the human eye the dress was sapphire blue and matched her eyes with a silver and white snowflakes interlocking and tiny strands of cynicism design. She also wore a pair of sapphire and diamond earrings that complemented both the the mask and mien of her dress. She stored her gym clothes with the coat check which had a room set aside for the partiers and gave tickets so that they could reclaim their belongings.

She smiled and greeted each of the arrivals so far with words of welcome. After she spotted Mr. Bates she made her way over to him.

"Mr. Bates it is great. How are we doing this evening?"

Fu enters the Four Seasons in blue jeans, that only have minor blood stains, and a dark crimson shirt. Making his way into the Festival he looks around at the other Lost present. Not seeing any other Summers he looks around the room assessing the best way to handle things in case someone gets shot...again.

The Manticoress moved with feline grace as she made her entrance, her movements having a certain sauciness to them as she looked at one guest or another with an enigmatic smile. Since her mien didn't work well with low-cut gowns, she had opted for a black jacket with Nightmare Before Christmas embroidered imagery over a dark burgundy silk shirt, which had been left unbuttoned just enough to give a peek of (does that leonine Fairest have extra nipples?) some of her less familiar body art. She was wearing a few bangly silver bracelets and a couple of rings -- and at least once she did the hip-hop forward-fists thing when she was asked about the ink on her knuckles. Juno's attire was topped off with an odd green scarf she had found at a Hot Topic and she was wearing a pair of dark jeans. As a further nod to her Court, she had a pin composed of small pink and green enameled flowers affixed to the lapel of her jacket.

It was also one of the rare occaisions that would see the Manticoress actually using cosmetics. Her eyes had been carefully lined and shaded to emphasize the clear blue eyes that she had been granted by her Durance, and if one looked closely she was, perhaps, wearing some manner of a neutral toned lip gloss. The mixture of human hair and fur that grew from her scalp had been carefully spiked up and moussed into place.

God only knows what Lost eyes made of her appearance -- though one could argue she was being tasteful with how it was all coordinated, or at the very least that goateed lion man doesn't have a problem with other peoples' opinions -- damn, but that's Springlike.

Rocking The Look

The SnowFairy Fairest was inhumanly beautiful -- Juno was interesting (or rather, she hoped that she came across as such).

Curling her tail to one side, she looked over in the direction of Alice.

Gah. Did she have someone paint that gown on her or what? How does she sit down in that thing?

[Sam Barkley]

Barkley's old rusted Ford sputters to a halt outside the Four Seasons. The angry little Sovereign removes his pistol from the glovebox and tucks it into his waistband after hopping down from the cab, then he reaches behind the seat to get his staff. Sam had provided security for these shindigs before, he had no intention of stopping just because he held a crown. He walks in wearing his typical mish-mash of earth-toned thrift wear and dark glasses. In deference to the occasion, he had washed the mud out of his clothes. He walks past Alice, Juno, and Mr. Bates to find his Champion.

"Alright, Fu," Sam says with a devilish grin, "You ready to show these bastards whose Court is strongest, Red Champion?"
