Jeremiah leaves the office late. Late as in most other people are already sleeping and there are people remarkably drunk wandering the streets before midnight. He doesn't sigh as he pulls on his jacket as he walks down the street, he had gotten tired of doing that after the first few days nights.
|

|
|
The weak light of a Crescent Moon provides faint illumination of the city streets. A moon that Jeremiah can't help but glance at often as he walks down the streets. And he just can't shake the feeling that something is different tonight.
Then his perception shifts in a manner he can barely comprehend, and certainly can't explain. And he becomes aware of something more at the edge of his awareness. Something alien, and inhuman; vast and inscrutable. As he finds himself torn; desiring to understand what it is he's beginning to sense, yet wary of it.

Jeremiah flinches and looks at the first thing that seems out of place. His eye's jerk back and forth before he reasserts the detached demeanor he has worked on since childhood.
The child like part of him wants to look and see what is there. To not hide behind the wall of logic that Jeremiah built as he grew up. A way to hide from the world and survive it.

And as time passes the sensation grows ever stronger. Every once in a while Jeremiah can see some sort of glimmering mote out of the corner of his eye, or a ghostly parody of a building overlying its real world counterpart. All the while he feels a growing urge to run.

Run! Come on RUN! What ever that is will eat you! Run Run Run Run RUN!!
Running would be a healthy choice to make and get me home faster.
No idiot! Run so what ever that is doesn't eat you!
What that weird reflection of light that caused that lens flare effect?
"That reflection......." no idiot it will eat you now RUN
Jeremiah sets off on a slow jog that gathers pace to a run. Murmuring to himself. "Running is the healthier option so why not."

And so he runs, and runs. He doesn't even notice that he's suddenly running on four legs instead of two, the wider range of sounds suddenly picked up by his hearing, his suddenly amazing sense of smell.
He does notice the moon again. Its light seeming brighter than it had at any point he could remember, bathing him in its silvery glow, calling to him. And he could feel the howl building in his chest, ready to burst through into the night air.

Last Laugh was out late and out of his territory but it was for a good reason. With camera in hand, he was taking shots of various landmarks to use in an upcoming report to show how the buildings in the city look now compared to times past. It was also a sneaky method of getting a look on any areas to expand into, just in case Mateo ever decides to man up and go for broke.

Running had become a hobby for Jeremiah as a way to escape life and to get into shape. Though running on paws...wait paws? Where did these come... Before Jeremiah can finish the thought a howl of exhilaration erupts from his chest. Shear joy and adrenaline overcome him as he runs, the world suddenly vibrant and there. His logical shell collapses in the face of this. Instinct takes over with reason acting like a driver on a run away cart.

Matthew had been patrolling the edge of his territory in Urhan when a howl cut through the night air. Without a moments hesitation, he turns to run in the direction of the source. From the sounds of it, another First Change. Hopefully he could find it before the pup ran into trouble.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
The howl sounds a mere block over from Vincent's position, alerting him quite clearly to the pup's location. To Matthew it also seems that he is close to the new wolf, and should be able to reach him shortly.
Meanwhile Jeremiah continues to run, the pavement of deserted city streets giving way to the soft grass and hard tombstones of East Lawn Memorial Cemetery. And as he runs he begins to get the feeling that there's something above, something watching.
Matthew and Vincent can both catch up to Jeremiah in their next post, and all werewolves near him (including Jeremiah himself) should Roll Wits + Occult + Primal Urge.
