Y'know, Some Curtains Would Do Wonders In Here

Heathcliff drives his own car behind Harold's to the evil Doctor Lazarus' secret lair, the unforgettable, uninviting halls of Amber Hills Asylum. Along the way, he is constantly fussing with his phone, reporting the incident, coordinating a response, and trying to get back into the loop on the Horizon planning before the Prince stakes him for ineffectualness. He also takes a call from a new arrival, but the trash bag of Leech Dust sitting on his front seat seems like the higher priority at the moment.

Heathcliff's stomach lurches as the estate comes into view over the hillside. Did a crack of pale lightning just cast the facade in eerie shadows, or am I imagining things? He waits on the Doctor to lead the way.

After the duo of cars enters the employee parking and the two kindred exit their vehicles, Dr. Lazarus begins to walk toward the back entrance. He hesitates for a moment, allowing Mr. Staley to catch up, before continuing. The Seneschal is my opportunity to get deeper into the investigation to Horizon; better to be polite to him now.

The Doctor's eyes look at Harold and there is genuine worry for the man within. The ghoul had almost died in that warehouse, and if that happened then the Warden's grip on Amber Hill would significantly loosen. Harold Smith was a valuable asset, an important point to remember. Perhaps I will send him to Lady Pia soon. After this I will make a phone call to her regarding his training.

"Mr. Staley, have you arranged for someone to pick up the ashen remains? I lack sufficient skill in the use of Auspex to tell much from them." Lazarus seems genuinely concerned about figuring out who this kindred was, although the intent behind the concern could have been for any reason.

"No, I haven't yet," Heathcliff says, looking down at his phone and tapping on the keypad. "I'm making further inquiries. Tell me, Doctor, since our first encounter with Bridgewater, have you spoken with the one in your care that seemed to have power over these spirits?" He combs his memory for, "Albert, I believe? Perhaps we would gain some insight into the creatures we fight by speaking with him." He very clearly neglects to remind Lazarus that the Doctor had agreed to grant the Seneschal just such an interview months ago, one that he has simply been too busy to follow up on.

Dr. Lazarus had forgotten about Albert, the man was not under his direct care in the institution. Ith seriously doubted the man would have any insight into this whole ordeal, but if the Seneschal wanted to waste time then far be it from the Warden to stop him.

"I have not requested his assistance since the exorcism. However, I can escort you to his cell if you would like to consult him..."

Heathcliff receives a text message from the Harpy and tells the Doctor, "Damn. It will unfortunately have to wait, Doctor, I have to go. Take care." He goes back to his car, happy to leave Amber Hills without having to step foot inside for once.
