Off To Visit Mama

[Frost]

Asia sat on the couch uncomfortably waiting for Nightfall and Mama Crunk to come back. Her eyes open a little wide at the large plate of cookies and numerous glasses of milk. She stands suddenly to help get everything on the table, glancing a question at Nightfall. He certainly seemed to be in his element.

She almost loses a mouthfull of milk when he mentions the patients at Amber Hill. Is he serious? Or is this all for Mama Crunk's benefit? She looks at him again, wondering who the man is. If it was a lie then he was the smoothest lier she'd ever met. Better keep her eye on this one.

Mrs. Avery looks sidewards to Nightfall and replies by saying, "That's a sweet thing to do, Neil," before yelling back up the stairs. Nightfall can hear the sound of a door opening followed instantaneously by booming music.

"WHAT MAMA? I'M WORKING!"

The Spring King is home. The music is turned down as footsteps echo down the stairs and Crunk appears wearing a bright yellow Nike tracksuit with the same amount of gold on as per usual.

"Bernard, you have guests."

He spots Nightfall and Asia.

"MY PEEPS! YOU FOUND THE PLACE. THANKS MAMA," he adds, kissing his Mother on the cheek before moving through to the sitting room.

[Nightfall]

"Hey, uh, B," Nightfall says, standing respectfully. He wasn't sure what the proper etiquette was to greet a Sovereign in front of their mother -- especially when one wasn't sure if they were Ensorcelled and had claimed to be 'friends' -- so he winged it.

"Your mom's been awfully nice, I hope we're not intruding too much."

[Frost]

Asia stands and gives Crunk a large hug, very glad to see him alive and well. She steps back with a smile. He can yell at her for the breech of etiquette later. Besides, it's in front of his mother. The more believable the better.

"We have bissed you. How are you? Can we see what you're working on?"

Crunk sinks into the hug, quite glad of it. He'd been away from his own kind for weeks now and had forgotten how much he had missed the connection, his own sanity starting to suffer.

"YOU TOO, A-2-THE-M," he says before giving Nightfall a wink. "I SUPPOSE ITS GOOD TO SEE YOU ASWELL ENN-EFF. COME ON UP, BRING DEM COOKIES."

The Sovereign leaps from his seat, gold chains swinging and leads them upstairs to his room, which has far fewer mirrors involved.

Instead, there is a double bed, a couple of laptops with a mixing system set-up and only a single large mirror. The walls are wallpapered in subtle and soothing cream, a far cry from Crunk's own room at his mansion.

Perching on the edge of the bed, Crunk waits for his guests.

Nightfall juggles the cookies and glasses, giving Mama a polite smile and nod, "Thanks!"

Waiting for the lady to go first, he followed them to Crunk's room. It was odd to think of a Sovereign still having a room at his mother's... then again, if he still had a mother, he might also. Well, but he wasn't a Sovereign.

He also wanted to ask about the mixing setup... he was a big fan of music, but something told him that he'd totally lose focus if they started on that.

"So, ummmmm, Kay sent us," he offered, taking a bite of a cookie.

Mmmmm-mmmmmmmmm.

Crunk took a cookie himself and bit into it, watching Nightfall and not caring about the crumbs falling onto his tracksuit.

"I AIN'T GOIN' BACK, DAWG. YA CAN TELL HER THAT STRAIGHT UP. NO FUCKING WAY!"

[Nightfall]

Nightfall pondered the situation. He doubted he could force Crunk to go, and that certainly wouldn't be polite to Mama. Nor would a yelling and arguing.

So, he shrugged and took a swallow of milk.

"Well, just give us the diamond then. Mind showing me what you're spinning before we bail?"

Of course, if Crunk did just happen to have a fat diamond laying around, he'd have to try a new plan. At least there were cookies and milk to help him think.

Wits + Empathy roll please

Asia ignores the cookies. She could tell that they were good by Nightfall's expression when he bites into one but taste makes waiste and keeping her figure was more important then enjoying cookies. She sits down next to Crunk on the bed and examines him for a moment.

"What is going on, King Crunk? Katrin will not tell us but we are not stupid. We know sobething is happening. What is it? Why won't you return with us? The Winter Soverign has told us to tell you to stop hiding. That is quite an odd thing to cobe out of the Winter Queen's bouth."

Aisa is not interested in playing games or talking about diamonds. She wants answers and Crunk can tell by the determind set of her jaw that she intends to get them.
