Kandahar, Afghanistan

Elanah walked down one of the streets in Kandahar. She was dressed in a Burka, fully covered from head to toe. Even her eyes were covered by a thin vale to disguise her skin color. It was the middle of the day and the market was in full swing. The Sun was high in the sky and she was sweating profusely.

People were shouting and yelling at each other about the sales of items and trade. Men all men, the women were silent observers. She had a man walking in front of her too. He was Afghan, he was also a spy. He led her around the market looking at different things, buying a few things.

They walked into a small brick hut. and then ....

BOOOMMM!!!!!! an explosion shook the ground and the walls of the Hut bringing it down around her. She was hit in the head by what she only assumed was a brick and everything went Foggy...

As she attempted to dig her way out, still foggy and in pain she heard it. After the ringing stopped she heard it. All at once like a wall of sound there were Wails of screaming and crying people. Men women and children all of them. No one was safe from the carnage. She rose up from the brick still covered in her now tattered Burka. She felt a warmth coming from her head and from her ear. Her body was in pain. left arm felt like it was hanging limp and her knee joint felt like it was grinding bone on bone as she Limped out.

Then she heard another noise, a noise she recognized. Not a banging or an explosion but popping, repeatedly in three round bursts. AK47 she though to herself as she leaned around what was left of the door frame to see outside. She saw the epicenter. There was a point in the middle of the market where there was nothing. Nothing but a black circle, and all around it was death and destruction. And there were men several men walking through the crowd with AK47's shooting the wounded, the dead and the people trying to help the wounded. They were shouting and yelling as the dead were waling.

She checked around for a firearm and found only a broken pistol. It Had been damaged in the wreckage. She slid her hand into her burka and removed a knife from a hidden sheath. Elanah's arm now back out of her sleeve with her knife in hand. She waited and watched.

The back of the building was completely blown away. Elanah moved back behind the building and slowly circled behind them. Slowly out of caution and out of necessity. She felt her left leg hanging completely limp from the knee down. If her foot tapped anything, a rock, a board, a body, she felt a searing pain up her leg. Elanah's leg was there, no bloodied stump but something was seriously wrong.

Elanah was behind them now. There was a trailer, he was searching a few of the bodies. Elanah crept up behind him and just as she is about to make her kill a hand grips her foot. Elanah nearly screams, she bit down on her lip drawing blood to keep herself quiet. She looks down to the hand on her foot and sees a small child. A boy no older then 9. Elanah puts her finger over her lips telling the child to be quiet.

Elanah continues her stalk, again catching the scavanger and this time... nothing stopped her. She drove her knife through the mans spine and out the front of his neck. He died almost instantly as Elanah cut off the communication between his brain and his body. His Eyes were open, she didn't close them. Elanah took the man's AK and looked to the other attackers. Elanah Found that she couldn't hold the AK47 and she couldn't drop to a knee to help her positioning. She set the gun down and again began moving forward again. She moved to behind a couple of chest high walls, taking cover and holding position.

Elanah looked peaked out and moved forward, from one cover to another. The last two of the savages stood over a woman. The woman moved slowly and cried out into the dead air. They man on the right raised his AK, laughter escaping his mouth.

Must Act Now

And she did, She stood and threw her knife from 15 feet out and the knife went right into the mans head, His gun fired out but wide. Elanah reached down and picked up a rock, throwing it at the other savage striking him squarely in the face. He drops to his knees.

Elanah moves forward as quickly as her wounded body could carry her. As she got close to the man she lunged at him driving him into the ground and slamming her right elbow into the mans throat, crushing his trachea. The man squirmed and wriggled trying to breath. Elanah rose up and stood over the killer looking into his eyes. She removes her hood and her glass blue eyes stare down into his. The eyes on both of them could only be described as remorseless. Elanah watched the man die. Once he is gone Elanah comes back to reality hearing a cry come from the woman. she turns and sees the Woman holding a baby and the boy she saw earlier. All three of them are crying. Elanah does not understand what the boy is saying to the woman but it can only be described as joy. The woman is crying as she kisses the boy and then the baby and as they look up, Elanah is gone....

1 week later...

Elanah sits on a bed in a safe house. She sits with a laptop on her lap and an email alert goes off. Elanah pulls up the email and its from one of her contacts in the IDF. She looks at the link attached and it takes her to the BBC website. The Article reads that A mother and her two sons 8 years old and 6 months old were saved by what the Mother described as, loosely translated, "An Angel of Vengeance."
