The blue glyph remains in Mr. Cartwrights pattern an ever present reminder to Philip this man is awakened, will sense the magic Philips own spells give of even if he can't place exactly what has triggered the unseen senses possessed by all mages. But if that was going to be a problem then the other unknown mage would have been aware of the feeling the entire time he was in Philips sensory range.

    Read Philip failure

He starts looking a might confused? anxious? but seems to physically calm at Philips seemingly friendly approach. ''Oh hey there.'' He looks more directly to the enchanter now, composure recovered. A smile plays across tired and drawn features. ''Thanks the boys really deserved it they trained so hard for that win.'' Eyes narrowing not in accusation or aggression just befuddlement. ''Why didn't you come to the meeting if that's the case it would have been great to here them there?'' He seems to move past it. ''But yeah sure. Just call the centre in the morning I'm sure we can arrange a meeting some time.'' He puts one hand on the roof of his car trying to physically indicate he wants to leave.

The more Philip sees him close up. The way the skin of his checks hangs in folds, the deeper shadows under his eyes, the eyes themselves a little yellow and bloodshot, wrinkles around his nose, and receding hairline. The man looks old? tired? worn! the man looks like he has been stretched thin and pulled further and it has exaggerated the tolls life has taken on him. That or his is seriously sick.

Philip couldn`t help but roll his eyes internally at the notion that Mr. Cartwright`s team deserved the win, although he kept his neutral-slash-pleasant gaze fixed on Mr. Cartwright throughout. But it did tell him that Mr. Cartwright wasn`t quite sure that Philip was a willworker yet, and especially not one who knew the truth about the game and him. At least he isn`t on to me yet. But that can change. he thought relieved, but still somewhat concerned, prompting him to stay on guard. Mr. Cartwright`s gesture to his car wasn`t lost on him. And he couldn`t blame him either after the long day he must have already had. His general facial features on closer inspection showed an exhausted person. He couldn`t tell for what reason, if it was malice or something other. But regardless, it painted the picture of a willworker on who life had certainly taken its toll. But Philip didn`t care. He was here to corner him and not show petty interest in an otherwise irrelevant highschool soccer game. Or show concern for the exhaustion of this fellow willworker, either of the temporary or of the longer-term variety. But he also knew a cornered willworker was dangerous so he was careful to not push him too far. So, answering his question, he shrugged.

"I guess I just didn`t want the hooplah of the meeting and I wanted to tell you in private and alone. Ideally right now. No need to make a big conference out of it later since we`re both here now."
    1 success

He said, not forcefully, still clearly clearly enough though. It was clear Philip was eager to speak to him now slightly longer and that this could not wait. Secretly he hoped the longer this conversation lasted that the other people who had joined the meeting left and continued to leave instead of sticking around, leaving him to confront Mr. Cartwright in peace as soon as possible.

If Philip tries researching Mr. Cartwright again later, like from his house or whatnot, would that be at -1 from now on for the follow-up attempt?

You only rolled 3/6 times you still have 3 rolls in the extended research task before needing to retry

The blue glyph in his pattern vanishes be it the spell has run its course, or the spell is used up.

    Resist coercion 4 successes

''Look Buddy.'' The tome firm and more resolute then Philips own. ''The reason we have meeting, community and otherwise is keep things organised and stop whatever this is.'' He seems to be getting suspicious. ''Your not the first person to approach me and try and get me alone you know.'' Eyes narrow. ''If your interested in helping hat great but attend the meeting.'' He words have an air of finality to them further emphasised by the car door opening and in climbing inside.

Unless Philip wants to use of force or magic it very clear Mr. Cartwright is very intent on leaving.

Also we are at 30 days please post where Philip wants to go or wants to do so I know where to open the next scene for you.

With Mr. Cartwright`s somewhat forceful rebuke, Philip understood it would be pointless to force him to stay unless Philip was prepared to escalate the situation, which wasn`t the case. Well, the alternative was risking him possibly getting suspicious of him, if he attempted an even more ostentatious hold- up. So, holding up his hands in a placating gesture, Philip relented. He noticed the blue glyph disappear with his sight during the converation, from the pattern of the seemingly worn willworker.

Increasingly expecting Mr. Cartwright to be a newly-awakened mage, though, Philip certainly thought it was interesting the glyph ended during the discussion. Philip figured either it randomly ended during this exchange, he used whatever last power that spell had for some unknown purpose, or he otherwise randomly deliberately chose to end it. He did not think it possible the glyph could be hidden because his Sybils Sight was clearer at the moment than it had been in a long time. Nevertheless, any of these three options signaled events were rapidly turning sour, each in their own way. If it was the second option especially, it even further underligned how far Mr. Cartwright was prepared to go.

"Alright. Sorry, man. I get ya. Just wanted to help you out. I`ll be in touch. You have a good night."

Philip said, backing away before preparing to go into his own car to continue his research from his home, hoping he`d have more luck in more familiar sorroundings.

Jus ta heads up only one scene can happen in a location at once (sanctuary and Consilium do not count as using up the circle) so until the other scene in his haven finishes we will have to take a short respite on this unless Philip wants to do something else?

Backing away before preparing to go into his own car, he considered his options. While he considered laying low and researching from home, as soon as he got to his car he got the idea to tail Mr. Cartwright to his home, or wherever he was going, hoping they were going the same way. If he failed, he saw no harm no foul because he believed it showed he was just very eager to talk to him, despite the possibility of Mr. Cartwright getting suspicious, which was a risk he was willing to take. If it came down to it, though. He did not want to chase him. But he did at least for a while decide to After all, while he did get the feeling he was new, there was also still a part of him that thought Mr. Cartwright might have allies, be it Seers, Banishers, abyssal creatures or whatnot.
    Drive Skill Vehicles

    failure

If the opposing drive roll succeeds, Philip gets noticed and Mr. Cartwright flees, Philip will not give chase and instead, turn away to a nearest supermarket or petrol station asap and cut his losses. He will then return to his home and plan to apologise to Mr. Cartwright for this, but also inform him of his urgency to speak with him, when he gets a chance to, later. And in that case, any scenes for Fallen Power will have to wait till either DYLF or A New, Free, Liberal Chat end at Philip`s Sanctum or the Circle respectively, in order to use those respective locales.
If Mr. Cartwright pulls over to deal with the situation instead(wherever), Philip will do the same and confront him there.
If Mr. Cartwright continues his normal speed despite noticing him and intentionally gives off the impression of not noticing him in order to lead Philip into some trap, Philip will follow him to wherever he is going and confront him there, oblivious to the danger. (Might require some wits roll in addition to the Drive roll, which Philip might get a chance to contest with an additional roll too to figure out he noticed him, at your discretion in that case, though I`m not sure what happens in such a situation.)
If the opposing drive roll also fails, re-rolls obviously happen and the tailing (and possibly even scene at your discretion) continues.

(Philip is not aware of this part)
Inside his Toyota Corolla Mr. Cartwright looks at the clearly tailing vehicle behind him and grunts with frustration. Another thig sent to intimidate me is it. I wish this guy would get hit by traffic already.

    Make a wish 1 success

    --------
Inside Philips own car he would be aware of the unseen senses of magic going off but can't see the source.

As his engine cuts out. Mid intersection

And a Skoda Octavia unable to stop with the sudden loss of power Slams into him. A classic T-Bone smash.

    Crash 6 successes

Philips car takes the worst of it suffering 3 points of structure damage.

Philip self is jostled and the air bag is set off but thanks to it and his seat belt is saved from any harm. Luckily. But effectively putting an end to this pursuit as traffic comes to a screeching holt all around him.

While I appreciate the attempt. You only worry about your side of things I got everything else covered (Also there is no opposed drive attempt tailing is resisted by wits+composure. Looks like we are going to wait for somewhere else to come free. If you go to the circle you might be able to recruit more help if anyone shows up (it's an open location after all).
