Just a quick note for clarity are you performing scrutiny on Mr. Cartwright himself or the spell in his pattern?

Hope this response is ok like this. But the scrutiny was for Mr. Cartwright himself and not the spell inside his pattern. Sorry for the ambiguity.

As the seconds tick past Philip becomes very aware of something. Mr. Cartwright is not what he seems, he is not able to unravelling the mans aura sufficiently to know what he is but a simple community centre manager he is not. Philip also has this resonance stored, like a finger print if he every sees it again he'll know it to be Mr. Cartwrights.

If it hadn`t already been obvious before, then his failure to get anything really out of the being that was Mr. Cartwright certainly brought the point home. And that was although he hadn`t scrutinized the glyph that was inside his pattern. This was no ordinary person, although he was unable to figure out what exactly. Although that in and of itself already set off quite a few alarm bells, in combination with his earlier theorycrafting about the resonances. Some seriously shady stuff was definitely going down, and it centered on the community center manager, and potentially other individuals connected to him. But he did memorize whatever he was able to glean from him in case he needed to find that individual again, an identifying mark, a fingerprint, a whiff of fate identifying him as a unique being. He made a mental note to type down whatever he found on his phone regarding resonances before he forgot, as soon as he got a chance to do so. His next objective, after having memorized his findings on Mr. Cartwright himself, was taking a look at the glyph inside his pattern. He hoped he`d have more luck with it.

With no declaration to the contrary declared we work down the options for spell scrutiny in order

Philip is no slouch when it comes to using his head unfortunely his limited knowledge of the occult tells and signs seems to have limited how much information he can attain here but he does get.

Composition: Fate (Vulgar as determined by the blue colouration of the glyph)

Potency: minimum of 2. Weather its because it is stronger and Philip cannot see it or because seeing that took all the focus his scrutiny can give he is unable to determine anything more of the spell.

With his scrutiny of the glyph and seeing it with his sight, it soon became apparent that someone or something had cast a vulgar Fate-based spell on Mr. Cartwright of at least some potency. And that was an absolutely shocking development, raising a whole host of questions in his mind. But his first reaction was an inward scoff. Sloppy work. To use a vulgar spell in the pattern of a guy where your work then gets broadcasted to everyone watching the match. Unless that was the intention? he thought, getting very deeply and inwardly lost in thought towards the end of his initial scoff. And his thoughts immediately turned towards the Seers. Despite certainly being interested in what spell this was, this Fate-based spell still might not fully explain the temporal phenomena that were also going on and he could see the effects of through his sight, and his previous resonance scrutinies. So he was much more interested by the fact that a spell was involved at all, not so much what exactly it did.
The question was: Who did it? Who cast the spell? And who or what was Mr. Cartwright? Was he an Awakened, a sleepwalker, some abyssal entity, or the sleeper plaything of something or someone else entirely? Was someone else manipulating him? Whoever they were, they were certainly a show-off, broadcasting their spell in such a way in front of a huge crowd of people where there was bound to be people like Philip showing up at some point or another to see through the Lie and discover the truth, and the accompanying vulgar display. At the moment, Philip was leaning towards someone else as having cast the spell. But this was clearly frustrated by the fact that, at the moment, he saw no one else around being suspicious. Unless they`d cast the spell on Mr. Cartwright away from the field in some back-alley? he thought, and with that, he redoubled his efforts to look around the arena, hoping to get even more info and perhaps even the holy grail that would bust this investigation wide open. Although he knew that was a pipe dream at best.

Nothing stands out immediately to Philip. He can one team being faster is just poor training, the players exerting themselves early and sprinting everywhere as opposed to the visiting team who seem to be pacing themselves better. The crowd cheers and claps and conversations happen.

The atmosphere gets tense, the opposing team have the ball, are making a run down the pitch shoot and score ...

    Paradox failure

    Timey whimy nonsense 2 successes

... By virtue of his sight Philip sees a cyan glyph appears in the pattern of Mr. Cartwright fresh cast about to do whatever it is meant to, Philip experiences and intense flash of deva vu on loop as is he had done this several times already ... the flair of a nimbus ... he has time for one split action before ...

With his sights up, he could see the forming cyan vulgar Time willworking coming into being. And he knew he had to act fast if he wanted to disrupt whoever was casting that spell and whatever it was they wanted to achieve, with Counterspell Time.
    1 success

He was able to weaken it but not dispel it completely. Now the vulgar spell would hit and nothing could stop it. Hopefully none of the sleepers notice. And why did they cast the spell at all? Was it to assist or harm Mr. Cartwright`s side? My money`s on assisting them. he thought, concerned. And Philip would have to see what was happening going forward. He was curious how whoever cast the spell would react to it slightly weakening but not actually failing completely. Would they even notice? And how would they react if they did? he thought, intensely curious how the situation would play out, continuing to watch Mr. Cartwright and the situation on the field for his team`s side.

I could find no wiki page for Counterspell Time specifically it just says `no page found` or something like that, so the generic counterspell page is linked. Also don`t know if the BBcode was OK the way I did things, please let me know.

You need to ignore your previous post 58 and mine number 57 for reasons, no rules issues, nothing like that just reasons.

lves early and sprinting everywhere as opposed to the visiting team who seem to be pacing themselves better. The crowd cheers and claps and conversations happen.

The atmosphere gets tense, the opposing team have the ball, are making a run down the pitch shoot and ...

    Paradox failure

    Lucky save 3 successes

The goalie saves it lucky diving in the right direction to place himself in the way and prevent the early attempt. Passing it off to one of the other local players. --- What to the crowds must seem like skill or lucky Philip can see is almost definitely influenced by the blue glyph that appears in the goalies pattern along with a serious sense of de ja vu ... a nimbus flare from someone nearby.

What might also confuse Philip is that under his temporal sight the temporal resonances of the area have fluctuated and behave erratically.

With the glyph in Mr. Cartwright`s pattern, that magic was afoot wasn`t surprising to Philip. He noticed the erratic and weird behaviour of the local time stream as he monitored the integrity of the timeline from his vantage point. Nevertheless, it really was a miraculous save, even for Philip. And miraculous that the blue glyph appeared in the goalie as he prevented the attempt to score. And so miraculous in fact, that Philip got a perhaps not-so-strange sense of deja vu.
Except, it was also a joke and a shock. Besides the glyph in Mr. Cartwright`s pattern he`d had some trouble scrutinizing before, someone had now again forced their will on the game, and vulgarly so. And, on top of everything the vulgar nimbus flare had to have come from somewhere in the crowd or at least near by, though he wasn`t sure from where. So now, he`d have them. At some random point in the future he knew he could potentially cast Postcognition unimpeded from a vantage point overlooking the arena, if that was possible. And with Fate and luck, find out who did it. But regardless, and most important was that it was now clear that someone or something was going so far as to liberally cast vulgar spells to aid Mr. Cartwright`s side of the match. And they were very close by. But
Philipwas not playing games. He wouldn`t break cover and start getting reckless. With a possibly adversarial hexxer around, the situation in the arena was incredibly dangerous. And he was possibly the only other individual aware of this, so a cool head would be needed. Speed, stealth, strength and intelligence would be crucial in any encounter with this individual, and he was not taking any chances. So the immediate first thing on his mind was looking, and waiting for him to strike again. With that in mind, he got to work scrutinizing the glyph in the goalie`s pattern, taking in all the nuances of it and losing himself in his sight, in order to try to get more of a clue as to what exactly had just happened.
