Philip can make a investigation wits check -2 (not knowing Mr Cartwright's habits or preferences) to try and work out the most likely exit he will use.

The second half of the game proceeds with no more supernatural interference at least none Philip is aware of however the glyphs in his pattern to fade one by one as their durations expire. The game is close and its clear the home team had burnt themselves out a bit in the first half but manage to muster enough of a defence to maintain their lead and take the win to raucous cheers and much applause.

The game progressed as he was sitting comfortably in his seat. A little too comfortably, as he should have felt his sights and armor weaken one by one, but he didn`t do enough about it and partially, and confidently, ignored it. Once he noticed they were all gone though, he re-cast them, annoyed that he`d forgotten about himself, and a `detail` so crucial while in the vicinity of a hexxer who was into throwing vulgar willworkings haphazardly around. Having lost himself in the game as there seemed to be no supernal influence anymore, but also partially because he`d forgotten. He simply hadn`t paid attention to the obvious. Much like some others he`d heard about before, who seemed to forget they were wearing glasses, he`d forgotten he was no longer wearing his supernally-enhanced goggles. Cursing to himself internally but left with no choice, he re-cast his spells one at a time, starting with
    Temporal Eddies.

He cursed himself under his breath for being careless, but at least he was content that he`d been able to stabilise his situation, feeling all imagos form successfully again and breathing a sigh of relief, but hoping he hadn`t missed anything important in the mean time.
He paid very close attention to Mr. Cartwright again towards the end of the game. Specifically, when he went where, when he left to go into the lockers or wherever he went, and what exactly he did, so he might be able to figure out how to talk to him one-on-one, after the game later.

As the game comes to a close Philip forms the imago for each will working anew that allows his supernal will to guide him safely through the insidious quagmire of the fallen world and is dangers. He watches as the teams shake hands, the managers to the same. He sees people filtering away, still others hanging about. Those that remain form into two loose groups, revellers and those heading into the centre assumedly for the meeting in a little bit.

Mr. Cartwright accompanies his team into the changing rooms probabaly for the post match debrief.

Soon enough the game ended. And so, Mr. Cartwright seemingly arrogantly shook his opposite number`s hand before going into the locker room with his victorious team for the post-game analysis. Or whatever one did to celebrate after an undeserved victory. Sportsmanship I guess, and looks better in the avoiding-the-bulldozing-of-the-center thing, but still. Why bother shaking his hand? Philip thought as Mr. Cartwright shook his opposite`s hand before disappearing into the locker room. After all, with a potential willworker in the mix to safeguard the outcome, the result never stood in doubt to Philip, unless he himself had interfered or there`d been other interested supernal parties to sabotage Mr. Cartwright`s efforts. After all, Philip did not discount the possibility Mr. Cartwright had supernal either allies or enemies, or perhaps even both.

Nevertheless, he decided to leave for now to attempt to determine Mr. Cartwright`s exit from the building in peace in a wing of the center where he could be alone and he could directly look at a pictograph of the emergency exits of the building while pondering Mr. Cartwright`s next move. But the guy was simply an enigma to Philip and no amount of peace or quiet would change that and he gave up, frustrated again as his guesswork was like playing drawing of lots with the exits absent any concrete insight into Mr. Cartwright`s habits or state of mind.
    failure

So he had no choice but to backtrack to the group that wanted to attend the meeting later and from them, attempt to find out if Mr. Cartwright would be following them when he left the complex later after said meeting was finished. It was a longshot, but the next option was trying to find Mr. Cartwright`s place of residence later so he could confront him there, if that plan didn`t work either. One way or another, Philip was determined to catch Mr. Cartwright alone to ascertain his allegiance. And ideally this would still happen that same day, but Philip was growing unsure about this.

So things clearly were not as they seemed at the centre Mr. Cartwright was an awakened of unknown allegiance. Capable of using vulgar fate magics to bend the fates of others to his whims. The threads of fate around the building seem to be frustrated and uncertain, in flux something well represented by the way information about the place was presented on the corkboard and time ... time held mysteries yet unravelled the resonance of the building attested to that.

Mr. Cartwright himself remains largely difficult to pin down is that the whims of fate or a carefully crafted façade on his part. Either way Philips own efforts had often been met with frustration in this place. And that was without examining the names carved into the bricks or the zealots themselves.

Yet several of these things converged tonight in this meeting. Will Philip attend it in person or skulk around the building pursuing other leads while many eyes are elsewhere?

Still not being able to piece together Mr. Cartwright`s eventual exit, Philip decided to head back to the cafe and sat down at a table, where he got out his laptop to busy himself with something until the meeting started and then ended, also to pass the time while it was going on. Eventually the meeting would end and when it did he was sure he`d finally catch Mr. Cartwright anyway, when he was leaving, hopefully along with the other participants. Or not. So he ended Temporal Eddies and Sybils Sight, feeling he had no need for goggles while he was researching, and instead casting Library of Time silently in its` place to make the most of his time. He was going to find out everything there was to know about Mr. Cartwright, right here, and now. His residence, his everything. Whatever he could get his hands on in the time he had and concentration he was able to muster.
    3 successes

And with that, he got to work, passing the time, connecting to his mobile wifi and VPN on his laptop, and hoping it wouldn`t take too long till he got his chance with Mr. Cartwright. But while he researched, Fortunes Protection ended, its` duration spent, though he didn`t let it bother him and he mostly didn`t even notice as he was engrossed in his research.
    5 suxx, 3/6 rolls, 45 mins

So after about three quarters of an hour of research, and figuring he got what he was gonna get out of it, he ended Library of Time. And he decided to attempt to re-cast his sights and armor, bracing for fun to come to him later, which could well be the case if his willworker friend continued throwing vulgar spells around. Again he started with Temporal Eddies to get much-needed temporal clarity, confident in his abilities. But he was unfocused so he couldn`t get the imago to form, frustrated after basically brazenly and defenselessly waiting for something to happen and doing his research, earlier.
    failure

So he tried it again after spending a few minutes finding his center and reaching out with his supernal senses. Well, despite the fact that Fate had not rewarded him for rash actions so far that day, he was going to get his temporal clarity one way or another. Feeling the imago come into being and take effect on the second try, a relieved sigh escaping his lips.
    2 successes

But still somewhat frustrated, he knew he needed protection for his upcoming confrontation, despite getting lucky so far on the not- getting- injured front. Again, IF he could still reach him that evening. So he cast Fortunes Protection again on himself as a precaution, feeling the imago form immediately to his relief.
    3 successes

And, not one to be without his trusty Sybils Sight, and buoyed by his success with Fortunes Protection, he tried re-casting it as well. But, just like with Temporal Eddies before, he simply couldn`t get the imago for this Sight to form immediately either.
    failure

But after again centering himself and casting it again, this time he was rewarded with clarity regarding the whisps of fate. Perhaps Fate doesn`t want me to fail after all. Fate has been quite carrot-and-stick with me today. he thought, relieved, but also somewhat pensive as he felt that imago come into being as well.
    Sybils Sight, 5 suxx (E-suxx)

BBcode for Library of Time included at the top although Philip ended it during the same post, for clarity`s sake, although Library of Time is not included in the spoiler because it is no longer active at the end of post, and only sights and armor are.

     Blush, imbibe,

Mr. Cartwright is currently a pretty public figure so even with as little luck as he is having Philip finds some information. A single man aged 46 with no kids of his own. He has been the manger here for eight years never really standing out and it has come out in the recent spotlight that he has a bad history with gambling. This all changed a year ago when he won big as in really big. Doing what most people would not he invested it into the centre paying off debts gets a security system, repairing damages and setting up sports time for the local youth.

The high school boys team is the only one in the local league and despite looking a bit rocky on the pitch they always seem to get lucky when it counts and ride that high to usually win. Recently they beat the team top of their league and since then Mr Cartwright has been embroiled in legal difficulties as the sponsor of the top team have managed to force the sale of the centre with plans to bulldoze it.

Mr. Cartwright himself is a local Sacramento lad who never left the neighbourhood he grew up in. Boy scouts as a kid, cadets after, and one tour in the army is the only time he left for any significant period.

As the meeting ends and loud voices precede the rush of bodies people seem angry, they seem excited, they seem above all frustrated. Talk is loud and plans of forming a human chain. Locking themselves in the building and even damaging the demolition equipment reign supreme. Me. Cartwright is in the centre of the throng.

His research underligned some of what he already knew, the basic gist of the uncanny luck pissing off the top team. The gambling thing and sudden shift in perspective a year ago was new to Philip though. The sudden shift in luck and a changed man after a personal crisis with gambling ticked at least some of the boxes of an Awakening for Philip, although it wasn`t certain. If it was Mr. Cartwright`s awakening a year earlier, he`d be relatively new to the whole thing, especially if he didn`t have a mentor. That further exacerbated the question of Mr. Cartwright`s allegiance in Philip`s eyes. What the frikkin lasers with vulgar fate spells is he? A Banisher, a Seer, or `just` a newly awakened Acanthus who didn`t know what he was doing? Was the conflict with the other team intentional to somehow strengthen the Lie and desensitize sleepers to willworking, or the overextension of a noob? Philip thought, flabbergaster.

But what was most interesting was the crowd when they were leaving the meeting about what to do to protect the center. Because that gave Philip his opening to follow the raucus crowd with Mr. Cartwright at its` center. Then he could potentially talk with Mr. Cartwright alone later once the crowd dispersed and he could approach him discreetly. Well, at least moderately discreetly. Not crazy secret agent like, but in a concerned your-friends-and-neighbors sort of way, was the way he followed the crowd after packing up his laptop and being good to go with his armor and sights.
    1 success

Did Philip manage to get Mr. Cartwright`s home adress, if he hasn`t left the neighbourhood where he grew up in?
