Eternal Court

The Nox Populi is an upscale experience that will take Sacramento nightlife to a whole new level.

In the heart of downtown Sacramento there is a place of intrigue, excitement and entertainment. The modern flare of this venue is host to exclusive parties. The seduction of this establishment may take you away as you drink, dance and socialize. There are private services available upon request. The best DJ’s in town are in line to play a wide variety of music. Some of you may dine…as long as you have your VIP pass.

However the Kindred arrive they are discreetly met and led to the back of the club. The space downstairs is decorated in dark, rich woods and expensive furniture. There's a coat room that will also hold one's 'unmentionables'; namely, weapons, at the foot of the stairs. There are also private areas, dark, and furnished with soft couches, as well as meeting rooms with conference tables and chairs, and an area with several televisions. The Court area is decorated with long black and brown silken drapes cascading from floor to ceiling. Draped in elegant bunches and gathered into valances across door frames and between supporting pillars; the lighting is intentionally low, but without the pulse of the music from above, the place has the feel of a sepulchre.

The common area circles the Court proper, and it becomes apparent that this is not decorated for a single evening. Small symbols note areas for Kindred only that branch off of the Commons, which will be necessary once those Kine privileged enough to see behind the Masquerade filter in: ghouls, herd members, or even devotees. The furniture setting is familiar now: a set of elegant chairs, all dark wood and red leather, arranged in a circle. The baroque lighting leaves the corners of the Elysium commons in deep shadow.

With the permanent fixture that the chess table had become, there was yet another new item. A Steinway concert piano, its cover in an upright position, revealing stunning inner strings strings. The lid was closed on the keyboard, the bench not with it.

Another evening; another Danse. For some it will their first, for some it shall be their last. After all, this is the Prince's Elysium, and subject to the Laws of the Domain.

Eternal Court is open once more...

Eternal Court is not a singular event. Always open and in constant motion, a compression of the comings and goings of Kindred within Elysium throughout the nights. As such, Eternal Court is also never truly empty; this can include 'faceless masses' of Kindred beneath notice, ghouls, herd members, devotees, or even officials in their offices.

Verity has a little pep in her step tonight, after her having spent the intervening months between the two formal events it would seem her efforts to learn had payed off, at least he had yet to hear any chatter about her being underdressed. Don't stop believing plays muffled through her earphones as she makes her way towards Elysium.

Dressed tonight Verity has branched out a little going for something more modern. Boots Not biker or calve length their only really notable quality is being fashionable. Trousers tight like leather but mostly a breathable form fitting material. Unable to escape the need to express herself though her Skirt adds that tempting partial layer she incorporates into most of her outfits recently. What is fast becoming a staple The belt on pockets go well with anything in her wardrobe either seen or under a larger skirt. To balance it out A chain accessory adorns the other hip and thigh over the skirt. Her torso covered by a three in one layered shirt which some might consider cheating but it goes with the outfit. And allows The golden rose necklace To peek through the undone collar button. Gloves of course to add layers to her arms. And finally A Silver (Nickel) Starburst earing through the right ear tonight all in all more effort then she has gone to for any non formal event to date, although her hair and make are the Daeva's standard affair.

Verity knows what to expect upon entering Elysium and thus knows to take a moment before pushing through the doors the time where her heartbeat would be audible if it was beating. She listens to the music, takes a firm hold of her beast and shoves it down, hard. Then entering.

Verity looks around to see who else would be in attendance wondering if it would be back to quiet nights or if the formal event had galvanised a few more of the cities kindred to come out.

It was a night for Court and though not formal, there might be people who hadn't been present at the last Court. Thus Al had decided to see who would be there and who wouldn't.

Thus he arrived at the Nox, deposited coat and hat at the wardrobe as usual. Then he prepared himself for the confrontation with people by spending some minutes in silent prayer. Upon being finished with that he entered the main room in his usual attire of a grey suit (pike grey for this night, combined with a purple tie and the usual black shoes accompanied by his briefcase and the usual accoutrements of his medallion and lapel pin.

Upon entering the room he looked around to see who happened to be there already and then walked over to Verity.

"Good evening, Miss Carmen, how are you?"

Verity looks around at the address. Surprise flashes across her face and not briefly. But she does incline her head to the Priscus of shadows, he still held the position to her knowledge. 'Priscus Baker, good evening.' Now this is unexpected. 'I have been well. Thank you.' An unexpected opportunity. 'And yourself. How have you been keeping?' She offers a smile. 'If formalities must be used, I do prefer Ms. if you wouldn't mind.' Or you know just use my name. 'Anything interesting brought you to court tonight?' Tone causal but interested.

​Al thought on that before responding with a grimace.

"Not that well, unfortunately. Psychological issues."

He thought for a moment, then nodded.

"Well, Ms. Carmen, I had hoped to find Mr. Price here, as I haven't talked to him aside from a quite brief meeting a bit ago."

Misty green eyes evaluate the older looking kindred. Now how many kindred would admit to being less then well in a public place such as this? Especially with members of your own clan making moves that could signal interest in unseating you. Maybe he doesn't know. 'Is that so?' The question is phrased rhetorically, assuming here of all places she would not get an answer if she asked for an explanation. 'Well I'm sorry to hear that.' Although I guess knowing you have multiple kindred stalking the night trying to bring you final death would do that to a lot of us. 'On the mend I hope?' Well he is out and about so that must be a good sign. And she offers a faint smile, a small gesture of well wishing.

The name. 'Ah Yes. I've heard the name, of your clan if the rumours are right.' That the Priscus of shadows looks for an unknown kindred more or less confirms it to her. 'But I'm afraid that's all I know, I've never been able to put a face to the name never mind meet him. As someone becoming a regular at court I can tell you he has not been around here.' Or anywhere I frequent in the city. A dismissive flick of a strand of auburn hair conveys everything she would otherwise say about her thoughts on kindred who don't see the need to get involved in the domain.

Al nodded to her question.

"It is so. It does certainly feel 'on the mend'."

On the topic of Mr. Price he raised an eyebrow.

"I see. That is quite unfortunate. He seems to have made himself most scarce, then. Well, remains to be seen who else might go here tonight."

I wonder if that means he is going to be more active in nights to come? It's a curious notion to the Daeva who has yet to see the Priscus engage in more then light social events a little verbal sparring with herself. 'That's good to hear.' Was it? that predatory smile however brief, the moment she had felt him intended her harm had not been forgotten. 'With your recovery what do the nights hold for you moving forward?' Polite interest. Maybe A conversation with the disgruntled Ms. Perez? Some blood hunt gossip?

She shrugs. 'It would be unfortunate if we had lost, but he never made himself known publicly.' There was nothing for her to mourn or regret in the leaving of a kindred who never stepped through the door. 'It's been a bit of a coin flip recently, some courts no officials have made an appearance.' Well that was most really. Verity of course does know that one such will not be in attendance for sure, but does not share that. The questions it would bring are not worth the revelation.

Al thought a bit about the first question.

"Getting back into the social arena. Involving myself with the Hunt in a way that is useful. Other than that remains to be seen for now."

He conceded the point about Mr. Price with a nod and a slight smile.

"A good point, I'll give you that."

​Once again he nodded.

"Indeed they don't have predictable schedules what court they frequent and which they don't apart from the Formals, of course."

That's enough to keep Verity interested. So publicly committing to be more active, risky but if he pulls it off it could salve his wounded reputation. 'I'm curious, what does socialising look like for you?' The closet I've seen him to being social was my acknowledgment back in October.

And that gets raised eyebrows of intrigue. I wonder. 'Do you know the current state of the blood hunt Priscus Baker?' Because what you told me as the truth last time we spoke on it could not have been more wrong.

She offers a conciliatory shrug. The absent kindred had been one of his clan after all. But the Smirk she fails to conceal tells of a hint of pride at taking a point.

'Keeps us on our toes doesn't it.' And if someone seeking acknowledgment in the domain were to show up what then? I mean it would have to be another Daeva were the only ones without a Priscus to reach out to. 'Still Always something happening here, I've yet to find attending to be anything less then highly interesting.' From rumours to meetings my consistency has always earned me something so far.
