Mothisa

-Passwords and usernames (you guessed it dark web purchase)
-All Social accounts, name, birth, age, family details, education level, career history.
-Born in India, a practicing Hindu.
-Moved to America 3 years ago to pursue education, this proved hard to fund but when approached by a modelling company a little over a year ago she took the job.
-Pictures show gradual downtick in her wellbeing from this point going from a happy healthy looking young women to a more curated, ever thinner, more serve women. She stops going out socially, she stops seeing her friends, her social change to become ever more job focused. Six months ago she dropped out of university shortly before finishing to focus on modelling.
-Died recently. massive mourning and social media campaign helped the company milk it.
- Pictures resurface of her clubbing looking as she did three years ago or close to it, healthy but a lot more wild in her behaviour and appetites.
-A gofund me to help bring her parents over from India is found. (It would seem they are not well off) and they are due to arrive two days from now at Sacramento international Airport.
-A picture from another investigator? or fan? or stalker? shows her apartment building shortly after her death, a moving van is parked outside with the name '2 men and a van' painted in red on the side. 2 blurry figures in orange overall 1 tall and skinny the other old and knotted are carrying a chest of draws into the back of the van.
- Cremation held a week after her death attended by friends and mourners.

Passwords and usernames of Mothisa came with the inherent risk that she was supposedly dead, so might raise a red flag in the system. That was, if she wasn`t still using them. If she was, it was a treasure trove of info, so he was torn. But in that instance, he didn`t feel like risking it for now, knowing he could obtain the info whenver he wished. With this latest batch of research he was sure he`d have to go back to where the latest pictures of Mothisa after her supposed death were taken.

So after the obligatory compilation and recollection, he got up from his computer to cook dinner. He wanted chicken with rice and soy beans this time, with an extra spicy sauce. So he busined himself with the creation, eating and cleaning as was obligatory. Once he was done with all that, it was 9 PM. Unlike previous breaks though, he couldn`t get some questions out of his head, follow-up questions from his earlier research, which he expected would continue for a while still. So I know when, where and by whom the pictures were taken that depicted Mothisa after her supposed death. But what can I find out about the people who took the pictures? Where do they live and how can I contact them without raising suspicion? And can I find out anything about the people in that image with the truck? Who were they and what did they want?
So, as he`d done plenty of times in the previous days, he decided to cast his version of Library of Time. Only this time would be the first time he`d quietly chant in High Speech, making sure all electronic devices that could record him were turned off and proceeding as quietly as he could as an extra precaution. After all, the lack of success with high speech had been noticeable and he had to rush cooking his chicken, which annoyed him although it had been his own fault and he knew it.
I had to have chicken for dinner! he scoffed, before concentrating on his chanting, putting his all into it.

The people who took the pictures are easy to contact they have social accounts, forums, blogs, addresses phone numbers, e-mails, places of work, hobbies they attended Philip finds it all -- doing so without suspicion well that's not something research would get him, it would depend on how he choses to make that approach.

The company 2 men with a van is a removal company based in south Sacramento.

They have a small office and 3 vans of various sizes for the purpose of moving. They currently have 2 employees. -- they seem to have been employed to clear the flat of the deceased Mothisa and move her stuff into storage.

Finn Ashwell -- 71 grandfather, ex military, owner. (all contact details, education level, and general routine acquired)

Darren Greenfield - 24, his socials show 2 things on interest he himself is a bohemian looking man, Caucasian very thin, long hair, soul patch, tye dyed clothing, shell bracelets, rings on most fingers.

-- secondly the selfies posted by Mothisa are on his account (Philip knows this from Walker's info as well). -- Philip gets his address, his work schedule, the places he likes to hang out, his education level (very bad), his start up band Whispers of the soul, they currently have no venues booked. --- Trailing through posts and information Philip can use geo tagging to find out that Darren has been having weekly counselling sessions for the last few weeks to a month at Middle way counselling 5pm. (not long after Mothisa perished) -- passwords and such are dark web accessible. --- With a e-suxx you also learn he has a history of petty theft, pieced together from allegations from partner, friends stories he posts about unfair arrest. The pattern of behaviour is clear.

Philip tried his best to see any details he might otherwise have missed. Obviously I won`t fall for simple tricks and you need to keep your mind open. he thought to himself, scanning his sorroundings and any details on screen,even those he wouldn`t normally think to value.

But after almost two hours of staring at his screen, and after the obligatory recollection it was already almost 11 PM, and he was tired. He didn`t bother getting the passwords either. Granted, he`d gotten done much faster than he thought. So with this lucky break he decided to reward himself by going to bed earlier and getting a good night`s sleep.

Waking up refreshed at 9 AM, he decided that it would be time to start hacking, after breakfast of course. After looking up the passwords and usernames he obtained two days earlier, he decided his first order of business would be to hack into the modeling agency. To that effect, his initial goal that morning was, on the servers of the agency, simply put to obtain complete access to their internal network to obtain access to their digital correspondence.

Just that moment, a closer examination of his research shows him something small but important.

In her pre death days Mothisa wore a gold ring with the Ohm symbol on her right ring finger. In this time Period Darren does not have such a ring. After her death pictures of Darren show him with an identical ring on his right middle finger. Pictures of Mothisa post death also wear the ring, on the right middle finger.

With skill and expertise Philip is in. Seamlessly. Digital correspondence is enquires about bookings, viewings and services. Pay checks, advertisements, recruiting, maintience, disposal, and a few community faith links.

What else would he like to do in this system?

After gaining complete access to the system, his next course of action is establishing a backdoor for later access. Then he goes about researching, recording and documenting any internal correspondence that either pertains to him, his alias `Reggie`, or Mothisa that`s discussed internally in that company by higher up employees for their eyes only. That is, any info he wasn`t able to obtain through his earlier, non-hacking research. He also wants to find out more info on the means by which the company has mysteriously rescued itself PR-wise several times and if there are any signs this might have been done using abyssal or arcane means.

What rolls does he need for the above? And does he regain any willpower from the previous good night`s sleep, seeing as he was able to go to sleep much earlier thanks to his success on Library of Time speeding up the research time allowing him to sleep from 11PM to 9 AM? Or did the previous reward of willpower for the sleep two days ago to the previous day already cover all willpower he will get from sleep this scene and cap that at 1 WP total?

At high levels (3 or more), a character can create his own computer programs. People with high levels in this Skill are familiar with a variety of programming languages and operating systems. Pp. 56 of WOD. --- In short with computer 1 programming just isn't something Philip is skilled enough to do according to the rules so no backdoor I'm afraid.

Pulling through data and using key word searches are simple tasks, he is not being persuaded by a system admin trying to keep him out so its a lower pressure situation and this means he has time on his side.

Perusing the modelling agency systems he finds no record of Reggie or Philip neither seem even remotely on the companies radar right now.

Mothisa has several files. Photos both SFW and NSFW. A timetable that would have been used for her appointments and shoots. Bizarrely intricate detail of her diet, weight loss, clothing size etc. Some of that would be needed no doubt but it seems to be almost glorifying her efforts to border if not stray into anorexic territory. --- The mourning campaign has serval payments made to social media and advertising firms. Contact details for her next of kin, (parents in India) which was dialled once, after the cremation ceremony. -- the hiring of the company 2 men and a van to clear her apartment was done by the company and her stuff placed in storage (Philip gets the address).

The PR team seemed to be very well organised, folders in order everything in its place and there primary method to divert and distract scandal is a backlog of promotional campaigns. It seems by keeping on top of this having several ready to launch on very little notice they can create sufficient noise to mitigate damages from other sources.

If Philip has forces mage sight that would help him identify any supernatural effects if that's what he wants to look for in the data, but nothing sets off his unseen senses.

Yep he rested he can get another WP per good nights sleep as long as he still has points to regain.

Great, just her decline. Not even anything noteworthy about their PR-campaign. Seems perfectly mundane to me. Just good prep. And nothing about me. he thought, relieved. After all, he`d found no keywords with parts of `Reggie`, `F. Reggie`, `Mr. Richie`, `Philip Crosen`, `Gregory Prowerson` or `the guy that visited the crematorium right before the fire alarm went off`. Content with his results, and seeing no point to delete or alter any of their PR-plans, figuring the pertinent info would be in the minds of the people who organised the folders anyway, he finished his searches into the database of the agency. But he knew that there would be more needed to be certain there wasn`t anything left behind about himself. His thoughts turned to the guide, Mr. Hemmingway and the crematorium`s servers.
If anyone knows anything, it`s the secretary or him. But to get to her I`d need another research marathon, so let`s start with him. he thought anxiously. Nothing less than unfettered access to the servers responsible for containing Mr. Hemmingway`s e-mails would do. So he set to work. Glancing down, he saw it was 11:05 AM when he started his hacking attempt.

Once more Philip is in luck it seems the crematorium do not employee a full time system administrator and with with some work and effort he manages to gain access to there servers.

Using a data he purchased from he dark web eelier Philip is able to log in and access the relevant account and can have easy time looking through the e-mails. It largely consists of a staff rota organisers, dry cleaning appointments, a parking ticket he is responding to (apparently a Herse was inappropriately parked when picking up a body), organisations for staff drinks and staff lucky dip (these e-mails are largely ignored it would seem), electronic pay checks, and the occasional time off request (Philip could easily determine this coincides with when he would be allowed to see his children legally).

Nothing overtly criminal and Mothisa only comes up a handful of times in the rotas and body pick up e-mails, once as does the name Philip signed but only once. An alert calling Mr. Hemmingway to the front desk for an unscheduled viewing.

A good amount of spam sits in the folder the usual assortment of blatant scams and advertisements Philip would expect to see.

What are the exact contents of the letter that mentioned Philip`s signed name, `F. Reggie`, and who sent it/received it. And can he see any others that may have received it besides Mr. Hemmingway, perhaps? Did Mr. Vize get it or was it `just` the secretary who is the only other person to have seen it? Would deleting the affected letter be noticeable? And is it possible for him to attempt a different hack or research, while maintaining connection and access to the server he currently has access to in a different tab on his computer?

Only one time that the name I gave at the crematorium came up. That`s promising, although one letter, or one misplaced letter, is technically already enough to do serious damage. he thought, not really sure how much more he could realistically do. And he was torn on whether he could permanently delete the letter to remove his online presence. As he weighed his options, his growling stomach forced him to look down at the clock on the screen. As he did so, he noticed it was already 13:15 and he decided it was time for lunch. He was lazy, but still haphazardly looked into the fridge and around the kitchen area for whatever he could grab asap. Finding some cheese and some honey, he decided he`d have that on some bread, as those were the first random things he could find, though not in that order.

After about a half an hour`s worth of lunch break, he got back to his laptop refreshed and with renewed determination. And as he did so, another thought crossed his mind. It seemed digital searches and hacking about Mr. Hemmingway, the crematorium and the agency all appeared mundane on the surface. But he couldn`t get the creature from the crematorium basement out of his thoughts. Somewhere there had to be strings to pulled, he figured. It was a simple fact. So while he`d contend himself with his hacking for the time being, he figured the next step after would be to visit any places Mothisa reportedly visited after her death.

For the time being however, he`d contend himself with his hacking, so he decided he did want to purchase Mothisa`s login information after all. Having saved all of his recollections and findings from the previous on his computer, he found the place to purchase her login data and purchased them. One he was done with that, he set out to hacking into her e-mail immediately. He bank account would be more difficult and he might try that later, too.
After all, if she`s partying has hard as it looks like from the photos after her death, the cash has to come from somewhere, unless she`s stealing it or has some new benefactor. And that would be nice to know. he thought to himself, concerned about what he was about to attempt.
