Asa left The Asylum, through the rear entrance, unwilling to fight the crowds at the front door. As he approached his car, he saw Olivette staring defiantly at several figures clustered around the door. Although the Block Party had been a success, apparently it had also provided opportunity for elements of the city that were usually more circumspect.

"Leave," he said quietly, ready to go to Reverence.

Heads swiveled to look at him, and he could hear laughter and whispers. Bodies turned and hands disappeared into pockets and jackets.

Asa began to stir the Blood to fortify and amplify his body, but could feel the Hunger of the Beast; waiting, hungry since the meeting with the wolf. He wasn't sure what the predator would do to these men, and didn't want to spend the rest of the evening cleaning up his own potential Breach.

He began to blur, intending to simply move past, but the Beast howled in protest. warmstickyfeed The Blood stirred, and he spoke again.

Freeze

He half-whispered the word at each, speaking faster than they could move.

Asa blanched and wanted to vomit at the smell and acrid, sweaty taste of the mens' forearms, despite the sweet Blood filling him.

That's the last time I leave the reliquary at home.
