    Philip shrugged and replied:

"Yep, this is the place alright. Let`s see, there was something here...."

he said, his voice trailing off. After all, Philip was on a mission and he was frustrated. So far, they were standing in an empty room with little to go on, except the omnipresent dust, and a sense of quiet foreboding he almost deluded himself into thinking loomed opressively in the atmosphere in frustration. So he did the only thing he knew, or hoped, might bring results. He homed in on the biggest fate resonance in the room he could find, and studied it. Thoroughly. He poured his magic into his mage sight and completely lost track of time.

After having studied the mage sight/scrutiny wiki page I found no mention of using a point of willpower to activate it, as was stated in mta 2 core. But I guess it`s been houseruled. If I`m wrong, and it does cost willpower I will note the spending in the next post.

Xisdor Philip Crosen as per page 279 of mage core book 5 suxx are needed for the quality of a resonance so unfortunately this time as Philip walks over to the window to examine the resonance that stood out to him outside Philip just isn't quite able to pick it apart enough to get a feel for the flavour, what would he like to try next?

Witch's soft sigh was likely unheard. Pulling out her phone, she flicked the flashlight app on and left Philip to his search as she started her own.

We are over 30 days so I'm going to say one more post each with an action, or the last thing you want to do. And please include where to next, and when you want to go. Bare in mind it is getting late and stopping to rest is an option

Witch sweeps through the apartment by the narrow but powerful beam of her phone. She is greeted by bare boards and empty rooms. The bathroom smells of slightly stale water and a weighty stillness holds over everything.

Yet her search does yield a result in what must have been the master bedroom she finds the corner of a paper something, striking out from a slight gap between the floor board and connecting wall. Which when pulled up revels itself to be a thin, paper back, diary that has either slipped through the crack or was hidden here intentionally. Unfortunately not written in English but if she can solve this problem who knows what it might contain.

Philip was annoyed. He just didn`t get it. He`d tried his best, but his first looks through mage sight appeared to have been a fluke and he failed to find the missing link. With this failure, he was at a loss for words, he wasn`t an investigator, mage sight had failed him and he stood in an empty room none the wiser. It just seemed to him that this attempt had been a shot in the dark and even coming here had been a waste of time. The only thing good so far was gettin in painlessly and not getting hurt. It seemed mage armor had been him being overly cautious, but he decided to keep it on as long as the spell would last out of a lingering paranoia regarding the spell he used to get them into the apartment initially. So he kept armor on as Philip ended his fate sight dejectedly.

But there was one thing that did stand out to him while he was pondering the futility of their stop at her apartment: the lack of finding anything was a clue in and of itself. The room was empty and seemingly long deserted which seemed to match Miss Sudarata`s official death date, meaning she might have gone off the grid or been magically revived if the later reports were also true. After all, magical investigation had revealed nothing of note to Philip. If she were revived, she didn`t want anything to do with her previous life or it was too well hidden from him. The temporal component of that thought process made Philip curious so he attempted to activate time sight, but he failed.

    failure

Dejected once again and with nothing else to do, he went over to Witch and in a hushed voice said:

"No luck here. I`d say we get out of here and call it quits for the night and maybe meet up at the mortuary tomorrow."

Philip just needed to get out of there to clear his head. He also made a note to himself to get better at mundane investigation. After all, fate was fickle and had let him into this empty room only to not find anything. Well, except nothing, which sort of was a find in itself, confirming the initial reports of her death. Getting back on his feet from his failures after his earlier moment of disillusionment he curiously asked:

    "Well did you find anything?"

With one successes Witch is able to recognise that this is not Hindi, Bengali or Marathi the most commonly spoken and taught Indian languages but is in fact a much older language. This Journal is written in the Sacred language of Hinduism Sanskrit, written in the most classical script Devanāgarī.

The one success was enough to identify the script, something seems a little odd to Witch looking at it but she can't place her finger on exactly what right now.

Witch flipped through the pages, not trying to read but figure out what the language - Sanskrit.

Sanskrit is what it looked like. Mostly. Narrowing her eyes, she brought it closer but before she could try to poke into it more, Philip was in the room and talking. Blinking she turned to him and held up the journal, choosing to ignore the sour look of disappointment on his face for the moment.

"Yes. Some sort of notebook or journal. The mortuary?" An interesting choice but she rolled with it with a shrug, "Ok. I'll work on this and let you know if I find anything when we tag up."

And carefully tucking the journal away, she used her flashlight to lead the way out of the empty apartment.

And so the mages retire for the night heading to their respective home to reflect and rest, a potential new clue added to their arsenal.

Time of leaving is 11:30 pm the next scene opens at 1pm if you get a full 8 hours sleep you can regain a willpower point if any are spent. You also have a damaged phone that needs charging and if you want to translate the journal int+acadaemics -3 looking for 5 successes for the whole journal but keep timing in mind as it might require you to roll agapist fatigue. If you have a suitable reference library, ally etc you might be able to mitigate the penalty for lack of tools and obscure language.
