Eternal Court

The Nox Populi is an upscale experience that will take Sacramento nightlife to a whole new level.

In the heart of downtown Sacramento there is a place of intrigue, excitement and entertainment. The modern flare of this venue is host to exclusive parties. The seduction of this establishment may take you away as you drink, dance and socialize. There are private services available upon request. The best DJ’s in town are in line to play a wide variety of music. Some of you may dine…as long as you have your VIP pass.

However the Kindred arrive they are discreetly met and led to the back of the club. The space downstairs is decorated in dark, rich woods and expensive furniture. There's a coat room that will also hold one's 'unmentionables'; namely, weapons, at the foot of the stairs. There are also private areas, dark, and furnished with soft couches, as well as meeting rooms with conference tables and chairs, and an area with several televisions. The Court area is decorated with long black and brown silken drapes cascading from floor to ceiling. Draped in elegant bunches and gathered into valances across door frames and between supporting pillars; the lighting is intentionally low, but without the pulse of the music from above, the place has the feel of a sepulchre.

The common area circles the Court proper, and it becomes apparent that this is not decorated for a single evening. Small symbols note areas for Kindred only that branch off of the Commons, which will be necessary once those Kine privileged enough to see behind the Masquerade filter in: ghouls, herd members, or even devotees. The furniture setting is familiar now: a set of elegant chairs, all dark wood and red leather, arranged in a circle. The baroque lighting leaves the corners of the Elysium commons in deep shadow.

With the permanent fixture that the chess table had become, there was yet another new item. A Steinway concert piano, its cover in an upright position, revealing stunning inner strings strings. The lid was closed on the keyboard, the bench not with it.

Another evening; another Danse. For some it will their first, for some it shall be their last. After all, this is the Prince's Elysium, and subject to the Laws of the Domain.

Eternal Court is open once more...

Eternal Court is not a singular event. Always open and in constant motion, a compression of the comings and goings of Kindred within Elysium throughout the nights. As such, Eternal Court is also never truly empty; this can include 'faceless masses' of Kindred beneath notice, ghouls, herd members, devotees, or even officials in their offices.

Court, the second since her task was given. They feel like they come up so fast, at least there isn't a dress code I can get wrong tonight. I think. Still can't go much worse then last time, saying that I wasn't personally berated by the prince, so silver linings.

All that in mind she has a job assigned to her and thus early attendance gives her the most time to do it. Taking earphones out, blasting rolling stones to any with sharp enough ears to hear. Verity wraps self assurance around herself like a cloak to keep everything in place, determined to make a better showing of herself, and that means taking the time to hold the beast in check, least it make the task any harder if she didn't.

Ready as she can be Verity enters court. Having deviated just slightly from her usual styling, rocker girl after all has several variants. Verity has opted for more of a Punk approach lots of Buckles and Spikes with Matching boots She at least understands the fashion of her subculture well enough to make the ordinary internet order clothes work for her.

Moving through the early crowds she offers greetings, takes an interest in anything and everything being discussed, laughs along and flatters egos where needed. All the while sharpening her ears to try and catch the truly interesting titbits.

Jennifer walked up to the coat check, her ghoul walking two steps behind her. Jennifer checked a long and thin item. Jennifer removed a dark green scarf that had been draped over her neck. Liam steps over to the side of the room, waiting to be summoned by his regnant.
Tonight was going to be interesting, Jennifer thought. There have been events unfolding in the Kine world. Were the Kindred here isolated and out of touch, or would they be jostling to be the first to brag about a hard-won bit of news?
Jennifer had discarded her usual pattern of arriving later so the acknowledged Kindred could arrive first.

Jennifer was Blushed. Her makeup was peach lipstick and light brown eye shadow. Her hair was styled straight. She wore a gown that was tailored from a special collection that her tailor thought would suit her frame. Dark green, tailored for 5’’7” frame and with very delicate cut outs on the bodice. Her departure from the modest cuts may be a new habit. The scarf left at coat check had revealed the gift of her Sire upon her Embrace. It was as though a sharp tooth; wide maw mouth had taken flesh from Jennifer's neck and one of her shoulders.
Jennifer wore the two rings that meant so much to her - the emerald ring on one hand and the chocolate diamond and white diamond ring on the other hand.
Jennifer glanced about the room, looking for someone to speak with.

Having flitted through the crowds Verity notes the reactions of the current gaggle to who she is attached, turning to see the kindred she most wanted to talk to, the Seneschal had arrived. Disentangling herself from, whatever this person said their name was, with a smile and a platitude, Verity will move over to join Seneschal Hazleton.

Stopping seven or eight feet a way to bow her head, before closing the gap to a conversational range.

'Good evening Seneschal, keeping well I hope?' Now close the musical tones falter, she has yet to take in the full sight of the Seneschal's wound, misty green eyes advert. 'I trusted I would run into you tonight. I'd hope we could arrange another chat.' You did want to be kept updated after all.

A small nod of the head to Verity Carmen, appropriate to her standing.
"Good evening, Ms. Carmen.
I have been busy tending to various matters. The Blood Hunt has a lot of moving parts."
A subtle glance about to faces to look for reactions to the mention of the Blood Hunt.
As a whole, I was disappointed with the majority of kindred acknowledged in the Domain for the Lady Prince's announcement. Is anyone guilty?

Brown eyes move to Verity once Jennifer's curiosity was satisfied.
"You have discovered something?"
She watches Verity for a moment.
It was too easy to get distracted by the Daeva and her charms. As bad as Edward Heinrich, before his stumble.

"I was thinking about sitting down with you this month."

As much as she tries to prepare for it, the Seneschals voice sends shivers down Verity's spine and she can't quite conceal a wince.

'Being busy is never a bad thing. My meet and greet circuit has kept me out and about myself.' Mindful of the first lesson the Seneschal taught her, in this very room, Verity is trying to keep things indirect and discrete.

Verity doesn't break the moment, rather allowing the Seneschal to watch and read whatever it is she was looking for, or just to look.

Speaking only after the Seneschal has broken the moment herself. 'This and that is in motion, and you wanted to be kept in the loop. This month would be ideal.' Verity flashes a smile. That the Seneschal was busy but still thought of finding the time was something Verity could appreciate. 'Time and place?'

There is a long moment as Jennifer considers. She considers the room itself, with all of the glorious trappings and the Kindred circling. Some were looking for advantage others in more obvious ways. The blonde Stacey earned a look from Jennifer. The absence - or at least, the clever fading into the background - of one Kindred was noted by Jennifer's calculating gaze.
"Yes, I would like to sit down and have a good, long talk." Did that slithering tone linger over that sentence? It certainly seemed to.

"We shall meet on Monday evening. I will have to get back to you on a place.
What do you like to do to pass an evening, Ms. Carmen?"

As the moment stretches Verity will follow the Seneschals look, expecting a new arrival, rather just catching sight of Stacey. This should raise questions next we meet up, good.

Turning back as the Seneschal manages to make having a chat sound as ominous as having to plead innocence in front of an angry judge.

Verity mulls the question for just a moment to smatter in vagaries that could have double meanings. 'Me. I go to shows, I talk to and make friends, I need to call one of my siblings and get them to ship my motorbike over so I can go riding, I try an educate myself.' Because what's the point of being eternal if your not going to use it. 'Right now I'm spending a lot of time looking at furniture sights.' And fashion but better not say that incase I screw it up again. 'I've very recently settled myself and now I have to get it. Just. Right.' The way the last two words come out its clear that whatever just right meant, Verity wouldn't be happy until she had achieved it.

Is it rude to ask, will she even say? Worth a shot I guess. 'And what of you Seneschal, if you ever get a an evening to yourself over tirelessly serving the domain, how do you like to spend it?'

"Do you prefer Rock concerts?" Jennifer inquires. It was a polite inquiry, but she does love precision when she is learning about someone.
"Ah, you enjoy riding on the open road?" The brown eyes do sharpen a bit. It was an unsual interest here. It does remind her of another Kindred.
Hm, furniture... A good information nugget to drop here.

" I have taken to looking for mentors in the physical skill of brawling or the fighting style of Brawling. If you hear of anyone skilled in that area, you can let them know of my interest. I am an Academic at heart. I appreciate reading and studying the past. I attend art galleries, cultural events and music shows.
I am always searching for something new to learn."

A smirk plays across Verity's face. 'Rock concerts? me?' Before becoming a full grin. 'Whatever gave me away? Yes Seneschal I do enjoy a good gig, although I've found almost anything with an active crowd can be a enjoyable enough time. Even some events I didn't attend previously.' Still I imagine our idea of music shows might differ somewhat.

'Yes. Always have, I learnt to ride a bike before a car. Detroit is in the top ten cities for it, so pretty common.' She casts a her eyes around the room noting that the night was well underway and yet ... 'Still for my cross country trip I left it with family, my minivan is if only slightly, a safer choice for that kind of journey.' And able to carry more.

Her brow furrows a little. 'Would not Reeve kingsley be skilled in such?' You would have to imagine right? 'Surely she would not refuse you.' Being of the same clan and all. 'Unless you have something particular in mind?' Or someone, the Reeve did not look to be in your good graces last court.
