Verity is keeping to the communal grounds, locations are left unnamed as with the maps currently not working I can’t portray what she knows to that specific level of detail.
The wee hours of the night attract a strange type of crowd to fast food takeaways, it’s a crowd she had gelled with many times when she still breathed, after a concert, a rally, a party or just being hungry in these dark quieter hours. The latter is the main reason she approaches one such place this evening.
Hands in the pockets of a mostly zipped up leather jacket, a caution against the cold she no longer feels, Verity walks past the windows that offer naught but the pretence of keeping the night at bay, automatic doors open wide permitting Verity entrance into the white electric glare of the establishment.
She quickly looks over her options.
Couple of studious types hammering away into laptops each with several empty coffee cups – if it comes to it.
A few EMT’s grabbing a break between call outs -- off limits.
Lone guy wearing the coat of a taxi company – potential.
Handful of trucker looking folk – Often lonely, better than a study buddy.
A gaggle of goons in hoodies already making a minor ruckus, talking to loudly – perfect.
Knowing how she wants to play this Verity approaches the counter. Flashing a bright smile to the taxi guy as she passes, having relied on those of his ilk to get her home may times in her life she knows the kind of thankless nights they can have. Hook baited.
Moving directly through the hoodies she leans over the counter, putting a skin-tight leather-clad rear out for the whole room to notice. ‘Burger and a coke, thank you …’Looks at the girl’s name badge. ‘Sammy.’ The musical voice recites confidently, she knows what she wants.
‘Hey girl, what you doing? You wanna come hang with us.’ A yellow hoodie had sidled up to the counter next to her. That didn’t take long.
Verity looks the wastrel dead in the eye. ‘No. I’ve had a shitty night and just want to get some food and go home.’ Make them work a little harder.
A pale blue hoodie comes to wingman for his mate. ‘Ah come on gurl, Georgie here can show you a great time, turn your night around.’
‘I said clear off guys. I’m not in the mood.’ Yep just a little more.
A third Black hoodie steps up, reaching for her arm ‘There's no need to be hostile, Georgie's just being a gentleman.’
Verity Nimbly pulls out of reach, backing away from the counter and three slobs, placing her intended target to her back. Does it hurt her pride to play this role? Well, that depends on if it worked, if they all dance to my tune.
‘Back off fellas.’ The warning is a little fiercer than she intends, they aren’t her equals after all.
She looks around the room, searching for someone, to step in.
The laptops have stopped typing but none are looking over, one of the trucker looking fellas seems like he might be about to stand up as the three hoodies begin to close the distance.
‘Ma’am you need a ride?’ The voice from behind her. Like a charm.
She looks back to the taxi guy. ‘I’d love one, thanks.’
The guy stands from his booth and Verity, leaves with him quickly, meal acquired. She hasn’t moved her blood so the hoodies will get over it in a night or two, to them she was just damm gorgeous nothing extra about it.
Once safely in the taxi the guy asks where she needs to go, Verity gives him the location of a close by motel/hotel she has already booked a room in.
As the taxi pulls up outside Verity moves things up a notch.

2 dots is considered average composure and this isn’t being used on anyone special so hope it fair to say this works.
‘Since you so gallantly stepped in.’ she reads the name from the badge dangling off the rear-view mirror. ‘Michael, you didn’t get to finish your coffee, you could wait for your next call inside, while I put a pot on?’ Her voice all honey and sugar.
‘Erm yeah I could use a cup.’ The excuse was blatant he just wanted to be near her, she new it. Verity grins.
‘Then come-on in.’ Her spark, has caught him and he's starting to smoulder.
Knowing if she fakes life, she risks killing this man, she can feel hunger not far away, she opts first to woo him, to small talk, apt attention, occasional suggestions, make him feel important. And when he turns to go makes her move, helping him with his coat using it to minimize skin to skin contact, her lips brush his neck and then harder, then the kiss sends him into ecstasy.
Verity blushes here, after feeding … before you know putting the room to use. IF you are reading this, that is because this is a public post, you’ll need to use your imagination here.
Sated she licks the last bite mark closed before leaving him passed out on the floor. Hoping into the shower, Michael won’t be answering any more calls tonight, not spent as he is.
Cleaned up, she finds her clothes, sheets that have to much evidence on them get folded and stuffed into her bag and leaves some bills and a note on the bed side cabinet.

Will he call, who knows, you can’t keep them all, but having someone who knows how to drive would be handy.
Verity leaves the room, to head for what counts as home at the moment.
