At the appointed time

Finding her place meant getting stuck in. Thus taking the time to steel herself and put the beast as far inside as it would go, Verity arrived In Elysium the next night as arranged.

Gone are the dress and heels of the night before, to her mind tonight was about showing her skills and her in heels … just wasn’t it.

The Outfit tonight her riding boots lead to skintight leather pants that hug her form from ankle to waist, secured to a dark crop top with metal rings, finally a heavily translucent fabric shirt of black flowers covers arms, shoulders and sides, for the illusion of decency. Her make up however, from the unseen tips of her polished toes to the highest strand of stylized messy hair is immaculately identical to the evening prior.

Tonight, she checks, a thin cylindrical object, as much an excuse to ask which office is the Seneschal’s without seeming to out of place.

Knowing now where to go, Verity checks her phone to watch the clock change to 9 and knocks thrice on the office door.

"Come in." The voice was calm, although the timbre of that voice that slithered like a snake though crumbling leaves
Jennifer's office was decorated in high quality dark wood pieces. A large book case presided over the room with a variety of books on the English language. Classic English and French literature could be found on the book case. A large and well laid out desk faced the door with a straight backed chair in Jennifer's place and two comfortable arm chairs facing the desk. The desk had been cleared of any paperwork, and was neat. A keen eye could see a gift that Priscus Jack had given Jennifer in prime place of honor on the desk.

"Hello Ms. Carmen." Jennifer greeted. "Please have a seat.
I wanted to speak with you in more depth."

Opening the door and steeping in when called, Verity closes the door behind her.

Taking in the office she was again reminded not all kindred were equal. The office radiated the kind of subtle affluence that only the truly wealthy could achieve. Complete with bookcase containing a lot of the titles she had hated in school.

‘Good evening, Seneschal Hazelton.’ Verity moves to sit in one of the armchairs, her aesthetic and class clearly juxtaposed by the prosperity around here.

‘Yes, you mentioned several things yesterday, I would be eager to hear more about. And apply my skills to.’

Jennifer's brown eyes move over the new Daeva for a moment. She truly was striking. The Beast is snarling at her guest. Jennifer allows a moment of silence to stretch for the Beast to prowl before deftly locking it away in the cage. The tempting guest did pull the eyes to all the right places. Jennifer steeled herself with the armor of professionalism.

"There are some detail that we were unable to delve into due to the nature of our first meeting." Jennifer replied with the calm presence of a Lady.
"I wish to have some clarification. Perhaps a place can be found where you can apply your skills.

You have the ability to listen to whispers and manipulate." Jennifer plucked out some of Verity's decription of herself. Jennifer looked expectantly at Verity.

Stretching silence, and roving eyes are no strangers to Verity, nothing she isn’t very familiar with. It’s an effort to not preen or fall into the motions that usually come after. And her assessment is? does she like what she sees? Contenting herself with moving a lock of hair back behind an ear. She waits for the Seneschal to speak.

‘I keep an ear, in the way of getting people to open up, to the politics of both kine and kindred.’ Both could be useful. ‘Have some experience in getting licences granted, things buried, or meetings granted with politicians without to much red tape.' The slight grin suggests that last unassuming talent, by far the most potent. 'Once I’m in a room I’m very easy to talk to you see, and when I ask, people bare the darkest deeds of their souls.’ The irony something so cathartic, so needed, far more often dammed the speaker, a shame it made her hungry. ‘From there its mostly just what do I do with that.’ The shrug says innocence, the eyes say anything but. ​

"This is an intriquing skill to have. May I inquire how you have used the ability to help Domain officials in the past?" Jennifer's Cursed voice slithers.

"I have some skill in hearing the whispers of opinion. I would recommend a word of caution. Some have travelled the path of influencing opinion indelicately in the past. A whisper to pressure a Family's opinion on a Family member was ill recieved." Jennifer stated. This was a caution that she hoped Ms. Carmen took in the spirit that it was given.
"There is always something exciting happening in the Domain. I was curious if you would be able to use your skills to investigate information, if I had need of you to do so."

Which one is intriguing? Bearing of souls surely. Circling her head across her shoulders, causing auburn locks to shift, she looks resigned. ‘Officials only came to me when mum was unwilling or busy.’ That’s a good chunk of why I’m here. ‘But I’ve got confessions of poaching, property destruction, adultery and money laundering.’

Misty green eyes narrow as she processes the caution, not in hostility just thinking, before returning to normal. ‘Who’d be so foolish to try and turn family against itself, I wouldn't mind hearing the story.’ That was a bold play, what did they think to gain? ‘Sitting on things is still doing something with them.’ A shrug. Sometimes its all you can do especially if you don’t know the parties involved.

Posture becoming alert. ‘If there’s something you want me to look into, I’d be more than happy. Rumours abound of the goings on, is there something specific?’ While her attention has never left the Seneschal, it’s clear by body language, leaning in, intense focus, unwavering gaze, this is what Verity hoped this meeting would be about.

"Very intriquing. I would like for you to keep an ear out at the next few Courts for anything that screams deception. Deception comes second nature to our kind, yet I want to be aware of anyone trying to decieve the Domain officials. Are comfortable with this idea?

There was a former member of the Domain who was very taken with the former Reeve. I believe that colored common sense and he atempted to influence someone. I only heard some aftermath of those who were offended.
There is always something brewing in this Domain. I am observing some situations. If you are succussful in discreetly listening at court, I would like you to privately meet with me."

Verity leans back into the chair. Far from a witless wonder and these are the circles she moves in. ‘I’d listen by matter of good practice directed or no.’ the way she chews her lower lip isn’t a technique taught in the fields of seduction, but suspicious of the request. ‘Of course, anything I tell you either needs to be taken at face value, or independently verified.’ Unless you already know what, I’ll find out and are just looking for a way to distance yourself.

Legs fold other one another, body language closing off. 'People do strange things for love, kindred stranger still.' An area she knew oh so much about.

‘As you’ve said Seneschal Hazleton, always busy in these parts.’ The lack of details suggests this rumour gathering some form of test perhaps? ‘I believe your invitation this evening was also in part to discuss on the ongoing blood hunt, and my interest in helping.’ If the Seneschal wasn’t going to bring it up than Verity would.

Very good. Independently verified was something I do on a regular basis. Jennifer gave a slow smile. "Very good, Ms. Carmen.
Indeed, there is a Blood Hunt going on. I have been involved a bit, as anyone should be. Yet as you can imagine, I am quite busy with many pulls on my time. There is information out there, floating about, regarding three poachers who came into town to wreck someone's Danse.

I would like you to meet with two members of the Domain and see if there is any information that they have - about the three poachers, recent activities that they have been involved in and any interactions involving the poachers. I would like you to meet with Priscus Baker and then Mr. Raul Dominguez. I would like you to move around Kindred and see if anyone is discussing the situation and if there are possibly more involved in helping the poachers."

The poachers are three sisters. I will give you thier names the second time we speak, yet I would like you to gather the information from the two I named, to verify what they know.
