Forten's Illusion: Going fishing

After she had put up the notices and sent out the texts, Helen got the most important things together and made her way to the announced meeting point in time to be a little early. Sniffing out the area and waiting for the others to arrive ? Why not. Also helps with getting things in order and think about what they're setting out to do. Especially as they're goijng in way more blind than she likes, but that#s the way it is, they'll have to salvage what they can. As is, she's parked about a block away and has walked the rest of the way.

As is, she has opted for a white t-shirt, jeans and her trusty boots today. A messenger bag holds most of her equipment out of sight for the time being.

As is, she waits for the rest of the group to arrive.

After a bit of a walk Al entered the scene, dressed in a dark blue windbreaker, black jeans, hiking boots and a dark grey flat cap and carrying a backpack and an umbrella. He took his time walking around apparently looking for something, before stopping a couple of steps apart from Helen. Apparently the others weren't here yet.

"Good evening."

The message said to dress to blend in. But Marilyn always dressed to blend in. Shouldn't come as a surprise that she would be wearing her usual getup, the latest in fashion. A voluminous sheet of dark synthetic pile cunningly woven into the facsimile of a jacket to which some fancy haute couture brand had slapped a logo on, seemed last year's and overused but Marilyn wore it with the usual nonchalance. Complementing the attire a decadent figure-hugging black leather skirt, ensconced beneath which lay a tantalizingly taut fishnet. Concealing her undergarments a black tanktop while atop her pierced nose rested a pair of crimson-tinted glasses. On her feet were a pair of worn-out Doc Martens that seemed to spell rebellion at each step. It was equally impossible to remain oblivious to the smell, an overpowering melange of strawberries reminiscent of the cheapest perfumes one could procure.


Her shoulder bore the weight of an aged and begrimed sports bag, harboring within its depths a collection of essentials. Among them, a change of garments, a pair of jeans and a black tee, alongside a pair of athletic shoes. The contents also housed a bottle of vodka, for moments that required fortitude or something heavy, and a pair of handcuffs, their purpose cloaked in ambiguity and a few ten dollar bills rolled within one another.

The Shadow was expecting other predators so she was stealing herself not to be caught unaware. Not a good moment to go apeshit, she mused as she approached the meeting place at the specified time.

Minutes tick by. Some of the investigators arrive. What shall these Kindred do? What are thier goals?

Raúl shows up a moment or two after the Mekhet do. He's dressed in a dark leather jacket over a dark red button-up shirt, a pair of dark jeans, hiking boots and a messenger back of his own completes the ensemble. It might take a moment or two to realize that the shirt seems to be slightly ill fitted on him, almost bulky. He stops a few steps away, glancing at the two faces he knows and the one he doesn't, his Beast growling for violence but instead, he gives a nod. "Evening."

Despite the distraction introduced by some of the arriving investigators bringing their predators to lunch, Helen manages to sort of appear not too stricken by it.

"Evening." She replies once everyone's there, shortly looking over the group, befoting the last introductions out of the way, assuming the two others haven't met yet.. "Marilyn, new kid on the block, Raul Dominguez, slightly less new kid on the block."

She gets up and starts making her way towards where their objective is.

"So, the message should have told you everything you need to know. Person or place, see what we can find about what our Friend is planning. Groups of two, nobody goes off somewhere alone. Don't raise any alarms if yopu don't have to. Suggestions for what we tell people we're looking for the girl ? Just so we have the same story and people don't wonder that everyone tells them differently."

She waves her copy of the drawing in the air a little.

Al thought for a while on those questions, as it weren't easy ones. Finally he had thought of at least one of the answers.

"We can try to tell them we have been tasked with checking on her by mutual acquaintances. Without disguises it might be the easiest way and closest to the truth."

He continued thinking, focusing on the groups they would be forming. He had seen Mr. Dominguez fight, so he knew he was capable in that regard. His newest family member, however, had said she could do many things, though words were hard to gauge...

Raúl turns to Marilyn as Helen gives introductions. He looks her over once and then gives a small, curt nod. "A pleasure," he says. His Beast doesn't stir at the Shadow's presence, only at the others in their small group.

He turns to Baker and gives a nod. "Simple. Effective. Do we have a name for such an acquaintance? If we're going to split up, I'd suggest couples. It'll make us blend in better. Marilyn with me and the good doctor with you?" he offers, directing that last suggestion back to Helen.
