The Vanishing Plot Chapter 1: House Call

The man on the phone makes a shrill whistle. From the nearby room, three other intruders arrive. They all wear the same black leather jackets and biker clothing. All three wield machetes. Phone man speaks a gruff .
"We're going to Rocky's. One of you kill that meal outside." To the three new intruders.

The two intruders move on Twist. Each Kindred holds a machete and swings at Twist. They clearly intend to send her to Final Death by the ferocity of these attacks. Both Kindred suceed in cutting Twist with their machetes.

Twist's blades find purchase in the intruder. Twist dealth with the intruder expertly. The man on the phone is observing as the attacker sinks to the floor.
"Yeah, we're goin' to Rocky's." The man on the phone speaks to an unknown person. "This fu*ker is skilled. Might not make it. Yeah."

The phone is dropped in a back pocket.

At this time, Twist hears something in the momentary silence. In the distance in front of the stronghold, the sound of slamming doors. Then a car motor starts up and wheels turn up the ground.
All four Kindred move towards Twist. The exit that these intruders are moving towards is behind Twist, and they will have to pass her.
What does Twist do?

Twist hissed as the two machetes cut deep.

Shifting her stance, her dark eyes flickered as she counted. As she listened.

She was good. She knew that. But time was not on her side. And neither were numbers. It was one of the things that made the Brood dangerous. Idiotas they may be, used by someone else if they didn't know what they were getting into by coming here, but they weren't helpless.

Drawing on her blood, she sought to repair some of the damage even as she shifted her tactics.

She pushed with her Will against the would-be attackers, seeking to make them hers.

Two things happen simutaneously. Three of the Kindred - the two called in by the whistle and the Kindred with the phone - stare at Twist. "Oh, shit. What were we doin' that for?" The shortest of the Kindred, who stands at 6", states. The demeanors of some of the Kindred are marked by an obvious obeisance to Twist.

Yet one of the Kindred wheels around and looks at his companion in shock. There is only a sense of movement as the Kindred rushes by Twist. There is no attempt to touch or attack Twist. There is only the drive to flee.

Twist wasn't greedy. But she was proud. And they had attacked her House. So, her eyes narrowed, her grip shifting on the knives in her hands, readying them for a throw.


She knew she wouldn't be able to get them all- she had heard the vehicle outside that spoke of at least one more.


But Goddess damn her if they thought she would just let them leave without cost. She would keep the three she had, and he could flee with her knives in his back.

I did not know this one's defense so I'll let you pull away dice from it. There are definitely some successes on the tail ends of the roll so I wouldn't be surprised if the success number drops from 9.

There is an audible 'Argh' followed by a string of curse words as the Brood stumbles through the doorway. A momentary pause as vitae begins to push through to the affected areas. Then the Brood is off and running into a muscle car. Once the seat touches his rear, his uses the car to block his arm throwing something near some shrubbery.
Tires spin as he peels out towards the road. Towards escape.

Yet Twist finds herself with three Brood staring at her as the night grows long. What does she do with these invaders?
