It was an old profession amongst the criminal element. Corpse disposal was a thing that has earned the undersiders of society money since murder became illegal. The profession had evolved as the coppers got better at finding corpses mind you that was also true.
The oldest variety were of the "leave no trace" type, there plans often involved such thorough disposal that the remains could be flushed in a toilet followed by a cleaning that would put many a maid service out of business. They also tended to be people Circe didn't do much work with. When a cleaner had the muscle to break a thigh bone using a normal hammer, they tended not to need guns.
Not a useful group for Circe's needs for funeral arrangements. That would be the other type of "cleaner."
Not everyone who wanted family to have a funeral wanted to risk, you know, government attention. Mostly ICE. And whilst there were sanctuary cities in Cali, Circe was certain not everybody had the travel conveniences for moving a corpse.
And a cremation vault big enough for a great dane would be big enough for people, so Circe figures it shouldn't be hard to find someone who'd do it no questions asked for a little scratch. Less moral questions about funeral wanted than about make it just disappear.
It was that variety Circe sought out. She'd have been fine with either, but the Springs were being bleeding hearts.

Gerrit and Sonja had an even greater debt to the elfin Fairest now. Literally a fiscal debt. She'd have them help her move product for free.
