Phoenyx tried her best and filled the auditorium with her voice. It wasn't as expressive as Puck's display, but she did put some heart in it.
Was is enough? Every now and then there was a tingling sensation down the back of their spines, there and gone in the blink of an eye. Did they imagine it? Was it wishful thinking or were they making actual progress?
Doesn't seem quite there yet.

Yeah, fuck the third grade talent show. Puck did his part, which was more then he wanted to do in the first place. He was done feeling like a monkey set to dance for the creatures amusement. He began speaking in high speech, and a golden glyph blossomed into being. A grunt turned into a hiss as his eyes closed and he looked briefly to the ground before returning his attention to Phoenyx. Thankfully a slight bruise was nothing he would write home about, and it wasn't going to be visible through his hoodie and jeans.
With the golden glyph Puck stretched his attention to wherever the spell would draw it. Assuming of course it drew his attention anywhere. He had next to sympathy on the thing, and the books didn't have illustrations or a name for the thing. practically no useable information was available through interviews and research and even with Puck's investigative repertoire he had next to no way of using half of it without the sympathy he wasn't able to gain.

Phoenyx quickly stopped singing when it became apparent nothing was happening. She scowled around the auditorium looking for a reaction from the creature, only to hear a hissing from Puck as a golden glyph flared next to him. "Are you alright?" she asked. The last thing they needed was Puck getting possessed, though at least she favoured her chances in subduing him. Zeromancer was still something of an unknown, but he looked more physical.
We should have picked up specific help rather than asking generally.

Although the sympathetic connection with the entity proved too weak for his spell to point him to the right direction, the irritation flaring up in Puck did feel different than usual. Maybe it was the third grade talent show, maybe the thing was not all fingers but also had ears and had decided to put an end to whatever the Awakened were doing.
The feeling running down his spine was barely noticeable and yet familiar: this was the same sensation he had experienced the first time he visited the theatre, the sensation he might have attributed to second-hand-embarrassment at first. Phoenyx noticed it too, and being especially observant she was quite certain she wasn't just imagining it. That light, curious caress at her neck, down her spine.
For Zeromancer it was a new experience. Mid whistle it was as if he got goosebumps down his back, like a gentle touch disturbing the hair on his neck just enough to feel like someone was caressing him.
Everyone make a (Comp + Gnosis) roll please.
[spoiler=Failure]That sensation grew into a prickling pain, like a limb that has fallen asleep. Whatever emotion you were feeling right now seemed to just drain away - it passed after a few moments, but it left you a bit more jaded.
Lose a point of Willpower.
Having a Mage Sight active, Puck and Phoenyx think they could make out a little movement at the tree - although it was too dark to be sure.

Puck didn't really have the time to explain further as he rubbed at his side. He felt the thing, which meant that Phoenyx and Zero probably felt the thing. It was concerning he couldn't see it with his spell up. If it was reaching across the gauntlet this was going to turn into another swift exit.
"Cool the tree." Puck points to the metallic edifice, mostly for zeromancer's reference.

Zeromancer felt a prickling pain in his limbs as if they had just fallen asleep. He was not sure he could blame the entity, but it really was the only explanation.
Trying to shake off the sensation, Zeromancer looked in the direction that Puck pointed to. Not sure what it meant, but thinking that if it was important enough for him to point out he should keep an eye out.

Phoenyx felt the familiar prickling and steeled herself against it. She couldn;t help but feel a hint of satisfaction as the Acanthus explained the source of his discomfort. Doing what was always the plan, but now Puck had said to do it which made it sound like she was following his instructions....
Oh well.
The Talon drew her knife, took a deep breath and began to chant slowly.
The temperature in the area around the tree drops 20 degrees.

For Zeromancer the sensation was new and it apparently caught him unaware. Why was he going out on a limb for those people he barely knew? They weren't Mystagogues and he barely talked to them. For a few moments it was hard to connect to either the Acanthus or the Arrow.
Phoenyx cast her spell and although the area of influence wasn't too big, the drop in temperature could be felt by every one of the Awakened. There was a barely audible snap, a slight draft of wind as the air tried to accommodate the change in atmosphere.
Oh, and the Abyssal entity that was obviously hiding here turned slight caresses into panicked scratches. What the Mages felt as the Obrimos lowered the temperature wasn't just a tingle down their spine, it felt like nails or razor blades clawing at their bodies.
Another (Composure + Gnosis -1) roll please.
Failure
Puck, with the help of his Spirit Tongue, could make out fluttering movement in the darkness around the tree. Problem was, it was still moving. What they were doing was working - they could try going much colder or find a way to look underneath the tree if the thing had been drawn out into the material world yet.
Please remember to always include the spell you're casting in your roll description.
I'm going to get a bit more explicit now: it is dark here. Even with Mage Sight without a way to see in the dark or light sources it is going to be difficult to pinpoint anything. Perception rolls suffer a (-3) penalty, as do actions that require more specific targeting than 'that area'.

While that certainly meant they were doing something right this time that feeling of accomplishment came with the distinct understanding that this was an abyssal monster that was panicking and Puck had no experience with fighting things. Also? It hadn't seemed to manifest yet. Or maybe it was hiding under the tree?
"It's under the tree." Maybe Phoenyx could move it? It was big and metal though so who knows. What he does know is this is going to go easier with lights. "Someone look for a light switch?"
Or be the light switch. Phoenyx definitely had the ability, but her attention should definitely be somewhere else at the moment. Puck could look for a switch, but he's looking for a fire extinguisher first. He couldn't really tell if the thing was manifested by what he was seeing, which meant he needed to make it colder. Spells don't stack with themselves, which means he needed an fallen source of cold to hit the thing with.
