Corn sees that the ghost has simply moved to the next target, and with a grunt he returns. He rattles his brain as he tries to think something useful about ghosts.
"We should question..." he started saying.

    7 Syllabes by my counting.
Also Intelligence + occult roll to think something useful about ghosts, or this ghost in particular. Aside of anchors, etc. Corn's intention is to find what's going on and simply beating the ghost may not accomplish that.

Corn may not have been in Twilight prior to this day, but that didn't mean he didn't know his way around the occult. While the ghost of the late McNally might be old and powerful, there needed to be an anchor somewhere keeping it here. Its age meant that it could possible move far away from the anchor, but judging by the vibe of the area they couldn't be far off. And considering McNally's past the cabin housing the mining tools also seemed likely.
There was another small detail Corn noticed: it seemed like the hand that struck him earlier was slick with Ephemera. Has it been like this before?

    2 successes

Maybe he was distracted as he produced his quarterstaff, maybe luck was on the late pastor's side now, but when the ghost swung again for Zeromancer it connected with a dull smacking sound. Zero's left arm, where he got hit, throbbed painfully for a moment, then it felt numb. It was not enough to hinder him in any way, but the sensation was anything but pleasant - maybe the unfamiliarity even made it worse than plain old-fashioned wounds of the Material Plane.

Now there was even more ephemeral matter on McNally's hand - and the ghost seemed to salivate even more at the sight.

Zeromancer takes 2 points of bashing damage.

Zeromancer attempted to attack the ghost to distract just long enough for Corn to think about what else they could do to get rid of the ghost.

And even though he tried the previous hit must have messed with him.

The priest feeds on suffering! Well, not exactly but close enough.

Let's do some magic... First Corn dropped Sybil sight.
Rocket-launcher? No. Shotgun? Still may hit Zero . Sword it is.

Corn, not wanting to make things worse for himself used some mana to ease the passing of powerful magic from Stygia to the faller world... and the Abyss still was coming through. Grinding his teeth, he got the battering from the Abyss. Again. But through the pain a nice, well balanced sword materializes in his hand. Time to teach that serial killer ghost a few things about suffering.

The staff connected, but Zeromancer was off balance and he didn't seem to do any damage to the ghost.
Corn, meanwhile, decided it was time for some applied experiments. Sure, that might have not been the top priority, but it still seemed like the conjured sword was also attuned to the Twilight, and therefore able to touch and harm the ghost. Most likely.

As if cued by Corn's earlier thoughts, the ghost brought his pudgy hand to his mouth and licked the ephemeral residue off his fingers. Both Moros could feel their Unseen Senses go off, but there were not obvious signs of what just happened. The restless tongue finished off its treat and finished its course over the fat lips for good measure. His beady eyes squinted as he looked between Corn and Zeromancer.

Assuming Corn summoned a long sword it's 3L.

Zeromancer was getting frustrated and had enough. And after seeing the ghost lick his hand and having the same slime on his shoulder he realized he was attacked with ectoplasm. Zeromancer decided though to attack again just in case Corn still needed time for is plan. Readying his attack, Zeromancer swings his staff at the ghost.

    "he feeds on..."
Corn said as he was rushing towards the ghost.

I was informed that I spent one turn running away so I have to spend a turn to run back... 3 syllabes as allowed

Again, Zeromancer's attack connected but apparently failed to harm the ghost in a meaningful way. He shrugged it right off, enervated by the taste of a possible feast that came knocking at his door.

When the hand lashed out this time the movement seemed more youthful (if you can call a person that has been dead for several decades that) and it packed quite the punch. Zeromancer could feel it even through his Deathly armor.
It was Corn's time to shine, time to flank the priest and live out the swordfight-fantasy his light-saber couldn't satisfy!

Unfortunately 4 dice are subtracted from attacks, causing the attack to miss. Zeromancer takes one point of bashing damage.

Seeing what the ghost did after the attack missed, Zeromancer thought back to what it could be and what if any action he may have to use it against the ghost that stood in front of him.

"... suffering!" Corn finishes his sentence as he lanches an-all out attack on the ghost abandoning all defense and trusting on the shield provided by Zero , in order to give time to the disciple to do something.
    And misses.

Going all out for the +2, no defense. +3 from the sword.
The ghost will probably end up with 30 corpus by the time we are done... the dice hate us both.
