Through a stroke of luck - having an Acanthus around certainly didn't hurt - no Sleeper dropped by to witness the materialized spirit. Seeing that nobody attempted to approach the tree or cast any spells that could be considered 'meddling', the ape relaxed somewhat.. but it's vigilant, featureless face remained fixated on the interlopers the whole time.
It took a few hours of small-talk, rotating guard duty, or whatever else the Awakened chose to spend their time with until the spirit wasn't here anymore. The spell that brought it into the material world - and maybe summoned it here to begin with - had run out and by then the ley lines had also returned to their normal flow.

There were a few take-aways from this night: as Winter had already suggested, the Mages responsible for the node obviously didn't know half as much as they thought. Also, the person responsible for the Spirit appeared to have more Magical muscle to throw around - and the foresight to use Atlantean runes to reinforce his spell.

As with all things Awakened, the night also left them with a few questions: did Mobius know that their little project in urban engineering had been compromised and asked for help for that reason? Was the spirit the tool for a Supernal eco-terrorist or was this all a coincidence?

For now, they had to be satisfied with a contained veil breach and no casualties of any kind.

Thanks for bearing with me and the scene.
