As if on cue a message arrives first on Puck's phone, and then to Winter and Phoenyx.

Approaching the clearing, the mages could make out the area was designed as a quad - centered between the buildings in the park. It was littered with construction equipment - scaffolding, lumber, fencing, assorted bundles of cement or topsoil - most of which showed no sign of any recent use. Contrary to the rest of the quad there was a fresh construction near the center. A maple tree had been planted on raised bedding, surrounded by well-laid bricks. More importantly to the awakened, the base of the tree was steeped in resonance, hanging and swirling like a heavy mist. It contained an array of hues ever changing and pulsing - its make-up hard to determine by casual inspection.

You could call it fishy, and then it wouldn't cover half the smell of the situation.
A brow twitches in annoyance at his telephone, but it's quick to return to his natural state. He nods, taking a look, before deciding to reach - once again - for the sky.

Got a question? Stand around and wait for an answer. He pulled out his phone, knowing from the two other buzzing devices who the text was from. Still, it was confirmation Mobius was late, and they had time to kill.

"So. We gonna take a peak?"

He doubted he needed to elaborate on what he was peaking. IT seemed the most noteworthy thing by a long shot. He begins to glare, picking at the hidden meaning of the resonance as only a Mage with the Sight could.

Eulogy's eyebrow raised as Pheonyx answered his question. Interesting what did I walk into? These three get a call from a mage I don't know and I just happened to be in the area? he thought. "I see." he answered the arrow sagely.

The Moros glanced at Puck who seemed to be taking things in his stride and nodded. "Sure, why not?" This whole situation peaked Mordechai's interest and he followed Puck's example and stared at the resonance emanating from the maple tree with his sight. His lack of practice pricked at his mind like a physical weight as he attempted to focus.

The Arrow's phone is last to go, but she spends the time to at least knock out a reply.

We have all arrived ahead of time for some reason. Try to get here as soon as possible.

Messing with any Arcana could be dangerous, but the Arrow understood enough about Fate and Time to know that they made even the simplest arrangements unpredictable. Even learning their Arcana wouldn't put the brakes on that. It was irritating, but possibly should have been expected.

She followed Puck and Eulogy forward, turning her gaze to the clearly focal point of the area, the tree. Right on the Ley-line, the magic coalescing at that point.

It may not exactly be rules as written, but I'm going to consider all your scrutiny successes as one pool since you're all examining the resonance together. But since 3 was the most successes I will apply the results to the first 3 categories: Composition (3 suxx), Potency (3 suxx), and Targets (1 suxx) per the Mage Sight wiki page.

Let me know if there's any concerns with that.

The mages grasp at the secrets of the spell before them collectively. As they peel away layers of Mystery they are able to identify a few things. The spell appears to be complex, containing hints of spirit, time and prime - lighting the resonance up like a flickering Christmas tree. Even with all their wills together, they struggle to determine the true strength of the spell at work here - it was certainly put in place by someone quite capable. And without a doubt this enchantment was designed with this particular spot in mind, and doesn't seem like it would be capable of expanding further.

The gathered awakened probe with all the sight they can muster, and another notification rings out.

The time written is just shy of an hour from now, but even a cursory glance at your previous messages would reveal that it's different from what was texted before.

Fate isn't always kind, and this time what comes on cue is a little concerning - The resonance surrounding the tree begins to pulse, and its flow adjusts and reverses. It knows it's being assessed, it squirms like a cornered mouse. It doesn't appreciate this. Suddenly the air in the quad begins to swirl, peaking at near-dangerous speeds. Dirt and debris are flung violently here and there, and finally the air blasts outward.

Everyone, Please give me a dexterity (or) stamina + athletics roll or be knocked prone by the squall.

As the dust settles, standing between the mages and the tree is what resembles a giant featureless ape. Standing as tall as the tree itself, 12 feet easily, the creature burns head to toe with an eerie green fire. But impossibly, the creature doesn't seem spectral - or even ethereal in the least. It is before you in the fallen world. It's empty eyeless face, hued green by the fire, regards you carefully. Though menacing, its posture is clearly defensive. The beast tilts is head to one side and then the other before releasing a string of noise that sounds like a discordant harmony of the hiss of airbrakes and nails on a chalkboard.

He flips effortlessly to the side, dancing amid the currents like a god of Storms and Thunder, wrapped in the aura of his own Watchtower.
He remains alert, watching the beast from afar.

Neat. A spirit spell, likely prepared with a contingent trigger. To bad learning that fact was the trigger and now green lantern Grodd manifested in the house. He already knew he was looking at a spirit, but the hisses and screeching noise was something the Acanthus knew from experience to be the spirit tongue. He took a breathe and a golden glyph began to spark and form. With a step forward, he looked up to address the behemoth in front of him.

<<Greetings. I'm Puck, and we mean you no harm.>> The Libertine's words are translated to the harsh growls and grunts of the Spirit Tongue by his new act of will. He slowly raises his hands, as if to show he is unarmed. In all honesty though? He has no idea if the spirit will recognize the gesture. <<May I ask who I'm speaking to?>>

He doubted anyone would mind him speaking for them. Winter chose to stay silent, Eulogy's path wasn't exactly known for it's affinity with Spirits, and he knew from experience Phoenyx couldn't talk to spirits thanks to the angel incident. That left only one person to do the talking.

Thew Arrow dives aside deftly from the winds, eyes focused on the creature emerging. She checks her allies, and sees Winter watching carefully, Puck, speaking that strange spirit-tongue, Eulogy knocked to the floor. She moves towards the Moros, offering him a hand up while watching the beast all the while. "Up. Quickly."

The other hand flicks back her coat, putting her knives in easy reach.
