Quality Time

He could feel it in his chest, this searing heat that came with a building pressure. Starting there and pushing through his limbs as everything else was burned away by it. Action put before thought until she stopped and shifted. He let out one deep breath and then another, but it wasn't her shifting mien that he'd caught. It was the look in her eyes the moment before she kissed him herself.


Then time stood still until the magic stopped once more. His eyes met hers as they transformed before his eyes, her words causing him to pause, teeth chewing on his bottom lip as desire warred against fear and trauma. He took a deep breath and there was one quick nod and then another slower follow up. "Y-yea. Just. It's just, I've never....Well, I didn't have a body for awhile..." He let out another sigh but one long, slender leg slid out and then the other as he stood up and offered her his hands. He trusted her, it would be ok.


Fear and anxiety wouldn't be silent but desire won today. They were already in danger by being together, they were already wholly open, honest, and vulnerable with the other. So why be any different for this. She'd done more than promise patience she'd demonstrated it, he knew this wouldn't be any different and they could work through it the same as everything else, together.

It feels like a moment of chordal suspension waiting for that nod, that confirmation of desire. At the same time, she recognizes what comes with all of this and even more so as he states his fears. This isn't just a bit step for them, it's a leap for him. There will be worry, anxiety, self-consciousness and that's okay. Whatever he needs, she'll happily give for his comfort.


Slowly she nods, her eyes softening to a loving gaze. He stands, holding out his hands to her and she takes them, giving them a gentle squeeze. "We'll take it slow. Together. Just like we do everything else."
