Circe was amused and excited to share her chosen weaponry with a fellow enthusiast.

The two Lost didn't consider a small flaw in their plan. No, not the structural integrity of the wreckage. It was only one hole they drilled through it with bullets, not a dozen. Nay, the problem was how does one confirm that the bullet goes through the hole after it has been fully drilled?
