[Milton]

Milton's comrades are attending to the piratical scum, thus far quite nicely. What could he contribute to their actions? Very little.

And then Martha bolts. Tearing off toward the woods, seemingly at the command of her captor. Who knows what errand he's sent her on. Perhaps she is meant to flank them? Or warn the rest of their band? Milton certainly does not want to find out.

He draws the gun provided by Connor, wills his blood to provide him better reflexes, aims quickly for her left knee, and fires. Trying to disable her before she makes the tree line.

The coward ran, the knife fell, and two shots rang out. Edward whirled on Erle, suppressing a smile. Ah, but it has been far too long.
Surprisingly, Mable offered mercy, and Edward frowned. This was her land, but he could only go so far in respecting her wishes.

Jennifer's materialization and subsequent... something, lowered the already dismal chance of Mable's plea finding success. Or maybe it increased it? This wasn't the time to think.

"Ma'am, I humbly request you defend yourself, as if you do not surrender, I shall ensure it is your entrails spilling across the fertile ground."

Connor recognizes what Jennifer does, her Monstrous Countenance. And he moves to intercept Erle should Jennifer succeed.

Connor is holding his action to see whether Monsterous Countenance works on Erle, after which he will either try to intercept her as she runs, or move in to attack if she doesn't

Erle ignores Edward and his threats, she ignores the Nosferatu Priscus that appeared not ten feet from her, she ignored the gunshots as they pierced her childe and turned him to dust in their wake.

The eagle took flight, wings beating as it rose. Then flailing as the noose tightened. And Erle ignored that too in favor of the Hierophant. She stopped chanting, as feathers lashed the air behind her as she turned and met Mable’s eyes with a gaze of ice blue. She seems to consider her for more time than possible in the short span the windows of the soul faced each other. Her lips parted slightly as if about it speak. Instead, they closed again in a firm line. She simply nodded once, and then dissolved. Her yellow hair turning pale white and floating in the air like she was under water before it turned to mist, quickly followed by the rest of her body.

The cloud form then rushed away at supernatural speed, moving into the western forest like a living ground fog, leaving behind the strangling bird and the man with noose around his neck and ash falling on the bloody ground.

Erle uses Protean 5 and moves away at speed 39. Any attack (assuming it can hit) is at -2 dice for the turn.

Initiate foot chase if you wish to pursue.

Martha falls as a large chunk of her leg goes flying ahead of her. She rolls onto her side, lips pulled back to bare her fangs in a gasp of pain. You can see the muscle beginning to knit as he speaks.

"Kill your friends," she spits the words at Milton as she tries to rise.

The haunt recognizes that his original target is a lost cause at this point, and the bird that was the perpetrator of the original crime is now naught but dust. He turns, making his way to where the injured Martha lies. He drops to his knees near her and swings twice.

Mable stares back at Erle and tries to ride her senses

When Erle takes off Mable raises her hair spray aiming at Erle. She stops remembering forest fires and the speed Erle is moving may be a bad thing.

"Cut the man and eagle free. Please." She says to anyone who will listen. She watches Erle leave. What the hell was that look? She looks like she's in a trance as she tries hearing through erle's ears.

[Dirt Nap]

Dirt Nap takes it all in. The foe is apparently destroyed or fled, though there's nothing really to keep the mist from circling back.

Either way, his rifle won't be any help.

"I don't have a knife on me." He says, approaching the tied but still living sacrifices. The animals, at least, seem to be loosely enough secured. He tries to free the eagle without getting clawed or bit for his troubles.

He's certainly not going to grow his claws for this. Not while there's some small chance of the prisoners surviving, no need to make them witness to even more they shouldn't see.

[Jennifer Hazelton]

Jennifer watches Martha depart and Erle flee. Ot dissipate. Jennifer drew out her Bowie knife from her hip sheath and strode to the man, cutting him down swiftly.

She checked if he was bleeding, or breathing.
"Mable- watch him. We need him to visit the Lord before he departs." Jennifer declared. Firmly.
" Mr. Northbridge, when you have a moment."
She had listened to the various suggestions that the Gangrel had mentioned, but this needed to be done.

Jennifer walked along under the tree, checking for movement. If there was an animal, Jennifer cut it down. She checked that they were not hamstrung or further tied, and had range of motion.

Afterwards, Jennifer checked if Dirt Nap had any difficulty. Any knot that was difficult, she sliced through to free the animals.

Milton Northbridge Mable Wood

She tries to command him. But Milton resists. He will not be manipulated by this trash.

That's what Connor steps in, striking Martha twice. "Thank you, Mr. O'Brien," the Lord says, somewhat sardonically.

Fixes Martha with his gaze again, if she's still conscious, and says: "You will not move and you will not speak until I come for you."

There is a split second where Edward's legs clench in the anticipation of a chase. But, no, the mist is clearly moving too quickly. Instead, he's about to cut the man down, but Jennifer is already there with a knife. With Connor and Milton on Martha, there was nothing urgent left.

"The boat must be attended to. I shall drive there now, and would very much appreciate the company of any who are not needed here and believe their talents suited."
