On closer inspection, Edward realized to his relief that the priest was still probably alive.

His relief was short-lived. Milton played his hand, too early for Edward's taste, but that was to be expected. Edward's sword was in hand as he took the first step towards Geir. Then the command struck.

1. Geir loses one willpower from "Penalty of Discourtesy." Edward gains the stolen willpower. As this post has net-zero willpower use for Edward, I haven't listed a WP expenditure.
2. Edward uses 1 point of "Importance of Conversation" to replace Wits with Manipulation for the purposes of calculating Defense, raising his Defense to 4. Three points remain.

Connor sheaths his knife as he runs from the 12 O'clock position. He charges Geir, and just as Edward swings his sword the Haunt throws what is supposed to be a devastating haymaker with his right hand.

Geir shouts something in Norwegian, as his form melts around and into him. He shrinks as the blood reforms his body before it finally settles into that of a snow white owl. It… He takes off into the air, stab wound visible in its chest as he flies into the western canopy.

Dirt Nap's Composure is 3. I am not sure if that cancels the effect completely or just subtracts 3 dice from the right, reducing the spell's successes to 2. If the latter, than I guess 2 dice should be subtracted from the right of his rifle shot.

A ghoul had been directed on two tasks. As there was no fire for him to address, he watches Dirt Nap's action. As Dirt Nap addresses Geir, Jennifer's ghoul does the same. Liam's knife descended onto the bird as it takes flight.

As the others deal with the Rotgraften Geir, Jennifer studied the kindred known as Erle. Weighing the consequences for discarding the Cloak with what was at stake, she looks to the man. Vulnerable to this Rofgraften's claws. Mabel speaks to Erle. As Erle has not broken her chanting yet, Jennifer has little faith that she will heed the caretaker of the Grove. Erle will continue to defile, Jennifer decided. Her actions would likely harm the kindred of Sacramento. How coud Jennifer stop Erle and interrupt the ritual?


The Nosferatu priscus had paused three yards from Erle. Jennifer pulled deep into herself, finding the discipline of her Family. The discipline of conjuring nightmares from one's mind that she has honed for years upon years. Jennifer snarled into Erle's face, unleashing Erle's nightmare upon her.
