Mable watched as Jennifer secured the prisoner making sure no eye contact could be held with anyone else. She seemed to have enough people to help her.

Milton was speaking the the man in such a tender caring way that she was sure the man would be fine once her was safely home again.

Mable looked at the mess of her grove. She knew it was a ritual but what was the purpose. She looked at all the components trying to figure out what it was and the purpose behind it....

Martha is bagged and shrieks when kicked, then goes still.

The tension in the man’s body flows away.

“I was working at the William B Stone Sacramento Locks. They wanted me to let a boat through. When I told them the Locks aren’t operational anymore, they made me get a boat trailer to drive it around and come with them here.”

“The man who turned into a bird and the woman who turned into mist took me. He had really white teeth wouldn’t stop smiling. She had pale blue eyes and blonde hair in braids.”

Edward

Edward doesn’t see any other current threats other than Martha, the coming dawn, and the chance that Erle was hiding as early morning mist.

Mable

Mable doesn’t recognize the ritual by any of the standards she knows. It looks to be of novel design. However, she can tell some things. It is a ritual of thanks, celebration, and welcoming. It’s end goal has to do with manipulating the Blood of a Kindred. And it requires the killing of nine creatures to fully enact.

[Dirt Nap]

Dirt Nap watches the still woman he's perhaps kicked into unconsciousness or worse. He listens to what is being said, however, even though he does not watch the questioner or the speaker.

He waits patiently, for some indication of needing to act, either on Martha or on the witness to what the Raiders can do, or on the chance that Erle is going to spring some kind of surprise attack just before dawn, though he thinks it unlikely.

He is biding his time, planning on quickly ducking further into the grove out of sight of all witnesses and merging with the soil before the sun rises, to spend the day sleeping.

[Mable Wood]

Mable counts the dead creatures and is glad that they eagle went free as well as this man. But she wonders what the powers were they wanted to manipulate and why. They should have spoken to her. Maybe she would have let this happen or not. She will investigate further and see if she could sus-out the ritual and what it could do.

Mable starts cleaning up the animal bodies and puts them in a pit near the pond. She intended to burn them in a little ritual of her own.

[Jennifer Hazelton]

“I would appreciate that, Mr. Northbridge.” She nods to Milton, acknowledging his information.
“Well done, gentlemen.” Jennifer keeps the jacket firmly on Martha and crouches beside her a moment, ensuring that she is still and not going to move. Jennifer rises.
The Nosferatu gives a nod to Edward, acknowledging what he has said.

She spoke quietly to those around. “Liam, keep an eye on Martha. Does anyone have something we can bind her feet with?” She inquires of the group. The ghoul complies, standing behind Martha where Jennifer previously stood. Bowie knife still in his hand. Relieved of the immediate guard duty, Jennifer takes a moment to visibly take role of the group. Her dark brown eyes checking each member present.

“Does someone want to assist me in escorting her to the authorities? I will be leaving with her in a moment.
Mr. Northbridge drove me here. Shall we drive he and our guest,” The man, indicated by her eyes. “- somewhere where we can safely pass the day?”
Dark brown eyes look over those assembled – Connor, Dirt Nap, Mable. She looks to Milton, curious to his progress.
“I am going to appraise the leader in a moment, once we have a plan set.”

[Milton]

Milton works the whole time the others are cleaning up the clearing and dealing with Martha. He is seemingly inexhaustible in his focus. The man will not leave with any memory of the events here tonight.

"No, unfortunately, you are mistaken," Milton replies, sounding sympathetic. "The smiling man never turned into a bird and the woman never turned into mist. In fact, there was nothing strange about either the man or the woman in braids, or any of their companions, save for their entitlement. They were on a pleasure cruise together and somehow ended up at the Locks. They demanded you help them get around, in that way that rich people do. And you had to help them by towing the boat around. Just to make them stop complaining and move on. After you helped them get their boat into the river on the other side, they sailed on. That's the last you saw of them."

Milton pauses a beat to think, never breaking eye contact.

"It was only later, when you were leaving work, that you were attacked. They hit you from behind. A group of teens, from the sound of their voices. Somewhere between three and six of them, though you never saw your assailants. They even put a rope around your neck for some reason. That's when you passed out."

A rueful smile bends Milton's lips. "The whole night is rather unclear because of the assault, making going to the police pointless. They won't be able to help you. Some things are certain however. Listen closely now: you only ever saw the smiling man, the blonde woman, and their friends at the Lock. You helped them move their boat from one side to the other and then they moved on. You never came to this place. You never saw any of this, including me or my companions. When you wake in the morning, you will be at your job, in the parking lot, in your underwear. I suppose the teens who attacked you took your clothes after you were knocked out. Maybe you had strange dreams while you were unconscious. Other than that, you will have no memories of this night. Ever. You will go home, grateful you survived the attack and try to move forward without lingering on your assault."

Another pause: "Now, provide me your name, your social security number, and your home address please, and we will be on our way."

[Edward Heinrich]

The logical place to stay was the farm, but Edward wasn't about to volunteer someone else's home.

"My vehicle is present and it would be my pleasure to be your driver, Priscus Hazelton." He bowed while speaking, feeling bad for volunteering given her expressed desire to never associate with him. But, it would be strange for Mable to leave the farm, and Milton had his hands full for who knew how long. "Otherwise I am equally willing to drive others to a safe place of rest."

[Connor OBrien]

"I'll accompany those with Martha." He says simply, wanting to make sure they have someone who can force the Dominated kindred to comply if needed. "My vehicle is at the Lady Notary's haven anyway; two birds, one stone."

[Scourge]

Tears stream down the man’s face as Milton speaks. However, his face remains slack and the reason why unknown. The violation of having his memories altered, the trauma Milton’s new description is putting him through, or maybe the relief at being made to forget tonight’s true horror. It’s impossible to tell.

“James Stanton, [SSN], [address in the barrens close to the locke],” he drones out, salt water flowing in the corner of his mouth.

The dawn was coming with just enough time to do drop offs and before the undead were forced to retreat.

"I'll come along." Dirt Nap says to Jennifer when she asks for volunteers to take Martha. He doesn't comment on the issues between Jennifer and Edward.
