Magic Shapechanging in the Arrow Sanctum

[Aurora]

She watches as not much happens.

Kaze was going good at keeping his wits about him, and holding the form.

Looking to Phoenyx as she barks, she shrugs.

“He wanted to test how long he could hold the form. I wanted to test if he could remain in control and not get lost.” Did she have a plan? Nope, she was winging this.

“But we have some options, as I’m sure Phoenyx doesn’t want to stay as a dog all day.” Or she could, no judging here. “Did you want to try casting some more? Or more stress type tests?” she asks. “Because I can mess with you,” then looking to Phoenyx, “both. Turn off senses, make things a bit more difficult. Lower some of your skills to push the stress. Or we can sit here and I can find a ball and we can play fetch?” a smirk as she winked to Phoenyx. “I just know that in a fight or flight mode, both instincts are going to fight for control.” Then a pause, “And I just remembered no one can talk.” A laugh at herself. “Uhh, lets see.” Pausing for a moment, “If you want to try casting more, one paw tap. If you want me to mess with you, two taps. If you want to figure it out among yourselves? Three. And uh, four to just lounge around.” That should work.

Kaze delicately taps Aurora's shin with his paw one time.


Then he focuses and casts a spell he's practiced many times, Supernal Vision. Huh. It seems to work even better as a cat! But everthing feels better as a cat, so there's that.

Next he tries to cast Supernal Script, so he can write a message to Aurora and Phoenyx. Not that he has anything in particular to say, or feels like he's going to say a lot anyway, writing it out with a cat's paw, but still.

Finally! Wow, he really has gotten too depend too much on chanting!


He has to keep the spell going though, so he starts dragging his paw on the ground in big, exaggerated figures to spell out, "Sry 4 naked P. My bad." in a glowing, blue script that can only be seen with Mage Sight of any Arcana!

[Phoenyx]

The German Shephard sniffs and cocks her head slightly at the suggestion of Fetch, followed by another bark.

Through her Supernal vision, Phoenyx watches as the cat keeps trying to form glyphs all around it, flickering out time after time, causing a look that might be grinning or panting - it was hard to tell on a dog's face. When the message finally materialises, which she can clearly see, she responds with a low bark.

Well, at least he gets it.

She glances around the room, spotting something that gives her an idea.

The Arrow has not moved but emits a small growl as the backlash tears through her body. The broom she had tidies the training room with lifts itself from the wall as the glowing glyph flies over to it, and it begins moving towards where Kaze was sitting.

The Broom has Dex 2, Strenth 1. Phoneyx absorbs 1 point of backlash as bashing.

[Aurora]

Glancing down at KatKaze, she nods, understanding. Curious to see what he will try and do. And if he’ll be successful. Casting as an animal wasn’t as easy as one would think. There were factors playing in, or, well, there was when she did it. The drive to keep her friends alive, to keep herself alive, to destroy the Seer Golems, and the bird instincts. It could be a lot.

But this was a softball exercise. She didn’t want to put too much strain on him, she had never tried to bring someone back. That being said, could she?

So she watches as she casts once, then twice without success. But seemed he finally got it, as the script appeared. Standing, she looks at the floor and laughs. Still with a sense of humor.

Then Phoenyx does her thing. And there was a pain in her chest as she heard the growl. Backlash hurt like a bitch. But it was worth it to keep the fabric of reality intact.

Now the broom? That was unexpected, and she moves off to the side to watch. Close enough to stop anything from getting out of hand, not that at a Master level it mattered, but she was a hands-on kind of person. Grey eyes flick to KatKaze, wondering what he would do. Or not do.

[Kaze]

Kaze the cat looks relaxed and unconcerned about the broom, moving on its own apparently, towards it's position, even as Aurora steps off to one side.

The dog-phoenyx looks over at Aurora, and gives what looks like a happy look.

Kaze may be invisible, but her supernal sight meant she should still see the forces glyph dancing around on the floor.

She began sweeping the boom after the magical symbol, following it wherever it went.

There was a small bark of amusement.

[Aurora]

As Katkaze fades from sight, she smirks with a nod.

But that doesn’t appear to stop Phoenyx, as the broom seems to continue on its path to the cat. Or, well, where the cat was.

Though this still seemed…easy.

So she decides to play a bit. Nothing serious at first.

The Shaman begins to cast herself, a glyph begins to form and is tossed at the broom. As it reaches the broom, shadows begin to pool around it, darkening the object, enveloping the base of it.

Kaze pauses at the broom's apparent ability to keep track of him while he has Personal Invisibility deployed! Then Aurora casts! And the shadows move and congeal into a deeper darkness than is natural. Around the broom.

But this doesn't seem to change the issue he has; he is invisible, and the broom doesn't care...

Oh. Right. He's so used to all his rits using Spell Cloaks, he didn't cloak his invisibility spell!

Kaze the cat appears! He is behind Aurora, having taken advantage of the fact that she, at least, didn't see him, and therefore couldn't easily avoid being between him and the broom.

Then he casts his spell again, with spell cloaking to hide it from, presumably, Phoenyx's Mage Sight.

He moves as stealthily as possible to creep behind an object to block Phoenyx's inevitable Scrutiny. It should take her a few moments to scrutinize, and hopefully by then, he will be crouching behind a support solid pillar of stone. Being able to see magic still should hopefully not let her see through solid stone to find him!

Phoenyx watches Aurora cast something on the broom, unsure of what she had done. The sigil looked like Death.... which seemed strange. It wasn't a spell she knew the look of, certainly.

Kaze seemed to do nothing and then vanished, but his attempt to cloak the spell didn't quite work under the Arrow's watchful eye. This was getting tiresome.

The dispellation tears through Kaze's invisibility as if not even there, rendering the sneaking cat visible. She tries to follow him as he sneaks along....
