Dropping Bodies: Security Booth holding

The guard has indicated for Mable to wait in an area behind the security booth with two parking spaces. This is the holding area for anyone who needs more scrutiny. Mable has now parked in this area, in full view of the camera watching from the security booth.

Mable’s phone beeps. Her police contact has texted:

I still have to keep chain of evidence. I cannot let you into the coroner’s office. They have a strict policy. You understand that they have to do that to prevent tampering with the evidence. I’ll try to get the coroner’s report for you, but understand if it means my job, I can’t.

The guard is watching Mable, her face impassive. She does not react with surprise when Mable describes the last attempt she made to get into the coroner’s office.
“So, you are saying you were held hostage.” She states, her tone suspicious. She checks something on her clipboard, cleverly hidden under a blank piece of printer paper. She seems to nod to herself.

As this happens, two additional guards walk up to Guard Valencia from around the back of the coroner’s office. These two guards wear guns on their belts. One of the guards who just arrived holds himself apart from the other two. His eyes are fixed on Alexander his hand resting on his gun.
Valencia turns to the new guard who arrived. His name badge reads Cortinni.

“This is Mable Wood. She says there are several reasons her name is in our files. She has been wanting to work jointly with the coroner’s office to bring in dead bodies to the morgue. Then she went on to say she was here to apply for a position,” Glance to Mable. Then she turns her eyes back to her fellow guard’s face.
“- and some crazy person popped up. She tried to get away from him, and he was shot. According to her.”

To the female Guard, "No not hostage. Just scared to death by a creepy guy."

The other guards arrived. She looked confused at the group because she knew she had done exactly what was asked of her that day. She stepped away and she didn't interfere. What was happening? She couldn't think...what was happening were the only words going through her mind.

"So he was just some person you didn't know who attacked you. And you have nothing to do with the threats that he made?" The woman is looking at Mable when she speaks. She pulls Mable's ID off of the clipboard and passes it through the window to Mabel.

"So we solved that issue, we've had that as a security note.
Now you want to come into the coroner's office. I know you say that you want to work with the police, but we cannot let people without the proper access through. We were not left any alerts that you were given special permission.
I advise you call your boss or whoever told you that you could have access, and smooth it out. They should give you a time to get your access card and you can come show it to us. Or if you are escorted by someone who does have acces.
You can go ahead and exit."

The guard named Valencia seemed personable and professional as she replied to Mable.
The man standing beside Valancia - a Black man standing at about 6'2" with the name tag Minor - lifted his radio to his mouth and turned away slightly, relaying to the guards some information.
"Unconnected to the 148.1 and 207. Grant exit."

Mable took her ID and nodded, "Nope not connected to the lunatic. Thank you ma'am. I should have thought it through. I know about chain of command and evidence and stuff. I just had a weird gut feeling and wanted to check it out. I'll go through channels."

She would not be of any help today unless otherwise directed by the guys. She exited the area and parked down around the corner.

She texted Edward,

I had to leave. If you need me...send a bat signal.

she hoped he would understand she could fly in if needed. Mean while she slipped into the local cemetery with her work supplies.
