Ram walked around the park pondering. A dangerous thing to do for an Ogre, he could hear the little doubts in his mind saying but he was going to do it anyway.

He was thinking about his conversation with Seraphina. He was thinking about her suggestion of building a space for the Freehold. Well, it was much more than that, but he kept it simple for now because he was also thinking about his conversation with Circe, about setting up a Summer space. It tied in slightly because training had come up when speaking with the Spring Queen. However, again, trying to keep it simple, he was also thinking about his own space. A hollow to call his own. If he was lucky then on this next patrol he’d find one, but at the same time Ram didn’t want to keep invading Gerrit’s apartment.

Ram growled and scratched at his horns. It was frustrating to have so many thoughts in his head. So many things to consider. Trying to figure out which was best, for him or for Summer or for the Freehold. He hadn’t been made into a commander. Within the ranks of Summer, the Freehold, and (if he looked that way) the Battlefield he had always been just a grunt. Sure, he could take command if he needed, like he did with the patrols. At the same time, he always felt like he was slipping back into the battlemind if he kept that up for any amount of time.

Sure, tunnel vision wasn’t the worst thing… but he also didn’t trust it all the time. Yeah, it got you through the gates. It got you to the towers. It got you to the enemy. It let you defeat them but it came at a cost. You didn’t see it when you rampaged. The friends that were cut down when you rushed the gates. The fires you set to burn down the innocents hold up in the towers. The pieces of flesh cut off you by your enemies. The bits of your soul that got killed with every victory.

Ram took a deep breath and brought himself crashing backing into the park. Into the real world. Away from the blood and bone and soul rending violence.

He took another couple breaths. Shuddering and chill.

His vision widened and he sighed across the long mortal seconds till he felt grounded again.

Make the tunnel vision helpful. One thing at a time.

Where could he find a good door?
