Dirt Nap sneaks down to ground level still in rat form to get a better look at what's going on!
Once he sees the ghoul holding a gun on Twist, he makes eye contact with the largest rat around and commands it to attack the ghoul, specifically to draw blood!

Twist silently muttered a curse at the humans in the front lobby. They hadn't listened and still stood milling about. If they had just left as she told them, this would all be so much easier.
Ah well, she wasn't good at subtle but that didn't mean she did not have the ability to try. Besides, maybe this way she could find out whose orders. Even if she did have a feeling.
"It is to me." Twist said with a smile, not even batting an eye at the gun levelled at her. 10 feet distance would not save him from what was coming.

"shut up" she says through gritted teeth.
Mable squeaks to the rats the let them through.
Then she tries to command one of the scurrying rats to help them find a way out.
When that doesn't seem to work she searches the wall for a fire alarm.

Mable manages to pull Rosario forward, reaching the end of the hallway. There are no end to the rats, however, and they continue to impede her movement as she looks for the way out. Even as Edward wades through the waves of rats to join Mable and the ghoul, he finds his movement is impeded enough that the way out is not immediately apparent. The hallway split left and right. Edward chooses to go left. The building is a modern marvel, glass and likely a novel prize of some architect. There were two more doors leading to other meeting rooms as Edward slowly moves away from Mable and the ghoul. He does find a door that upon opening it, reveals a small and intimate office. There is a nice window in the office, with nothing spared on the qaulity of the structure. Looking back down the hall, he sees another door along the same exterior wall. Another office or the way out? Just a few slow churning steps through the sea of rats to find out.
Mable has no immediate luck looking for the fire alarm. It is dark and noisy with the panicking people up front and the chattering of vermin all over. The vermin that she implores has nothing to say to her. It seems she has failed to make the emphatic bond with this lesser creature. Rosario groans, not liking the situation at all. For all her commands, he wasn't her pet, and he still groaned and shuddered in reaction to the vermin all around. His reaction drives home how the rats appear to normal people and perhaps stokes the memories of alarm in some of the Kindred. Lesser creatures tended to flee from Kindred. Some, however, attack... What would these beasts do? The Gangrels would know that they were not so repellent to creatures, and even as one rat departs from Mable, six or so approach her, twining around her ankles. One perches on her shoe. They do sense something different in her. Perhaps this main hall the way that they had come had a fire alarm. It would be the main thoughfare. It would require back tracking and going back towards the potential danger, however.
Dirt Nap finds his new friend chittering in a friendly manner to him. Why bite? So many other fun things to chew here! Did he smell the food over there? - it chittered.
At the opposite side of these three, things were heating up between Twist and the men. The Archon wields one of the most potent abilities gifted to Kindred, and she weaves it with grace. The deft touch removed the will to harm her in other one whom she had touched earlier. The flashlight is raised to her torso to allow the men to see her clearly, but not cause her distress or blind her. Those eyes blink at her a touch sluggishly, not wanting to lose sight of her for a moment. The impending threat is lowered as they appear under Twist's control. The gun hand falls limply beside his leg, the gun held limply but without any intention of using it, it seems.
"Hi." The blonde man gives a smile to Twist, and he can be quite attractive when he wants to be.

Dirt Nap sets aside the unexpectedly willful resistance of his chosen rat to his command, taking in the situation as a whole from his ground level view as a rat himself!
Mable is doing something with the rats and moving away with the artist. That seems fine. Edward is moving with a purpose. No need to try to figure out what or get involved. The Duchess certainly seems to have the ghouls well in hand...and Melanie and Simone are nowhere to be seen. That seems to him to leave the original concern, not having a Breach in front of the good people who are queuing up in front to see the art!
Quickly assessing the immediate options and resources, Dirt Nap turns his attention to another, hopefully more pliable rat, commanding it to consider this building its territory and larder, and sending it to boldly rush the people outside to scare them away! One rat would not be terrifying, but for refined city types, the confrontation would likely drain off their enthusiasm for hanging around or entering the building.
And if they didn't take the hint the first time, there were plenty more rats where this one came from! And there were always larger animals that could be brought in to startle the city dwellers who like to forget they live side by side with them. A coyote or two could go a long way...best to hold off on that if possible though; that could result in authorities being called in right urgently. Though it might help them rationalize why all the rats showed up if a larger predator were hunting them.
Dirt Nap winces internally at the relatively weak strength of his command, hoping it takes all the same, and preparing to up the ante if it doesn.

Twist returned the blonde man's smile with one of her own, a dazzling display of pleasure at seeing him.
"Hi," she replied still smiling, "Talk outside?"
So long as they weren't shooting, they didn't have a breach. Oh- things were still a bit on edge, guns had been drawn and it wasn't exactly normal to suddenly drop into conversation whilst rats scrabbled at pant legs but it wasn't enough for a breach.
If she could get the Kindred, ghouls, and the artist outside without a breach happening that was a win. They had the painting and maybe even the true culprit's ghouls. The rest of the gallery showing held little interest for her. She did not care one whit how the caterers handled the rat situation or the soon to arrive viewing crowd.
Taking a step forward she made a gesture toward the front doors where the caterers stood. She would have preferred not having to go by the mortals with two armed ghouls, but it was likely the better choice, giving Edward and Mable more room to get out themselves with the artist.

Not finding a fire alarm, Mable continued to search for an unlocked door. She sighed when her companion continued to moan about the rats. "I'm sorry. I know they are hard to deal with. Let's try to find a less ratty area for you to be safe in." She said this in a calm sweet voice trying to calm him down.
She continued to check for doors as she spoke to Rosario.

Back of the building
It takes a few minutes, but Edward and Mable locate the exterior door. This building has good security - the door back here is subtle. The interior door is reinforced and thick with a quality deadbolt that is locked. Throwing open the door would reveal a secondary metal security door with another two high qaulity locks. These would take Edward or Mable just a few seconds to open, and they could be on their way. The way out is within their grasp!
The ghoul has continued his moaning and even apologizing to rats, not liking that Mable is hauling him along through the rats any longer.
Hallway, moving into the lobby
“As long as that’s’ in the right hands, that’s all that matters, Ma’am. We were told that somebody wanted people to see it. You know we couldn’t let that happen.” The dark-haired man tells Twist. “We were sent to make sure that Mr. H and the others had it in their hands. If you want me to burn it -- with you at a safe distance and watching -- just say the word.”
Twist seems to have this buttoned up. As she moves for the door, she notes that the Ghouls move to flank her. They seem to give her some buffer against the Kine observers as Charles places himself walking just in front of her on the side carrying the painting. He is turning his head and glancing over at the caterers and Michael the security guard, on alert and blocking the rolled-up painting with his body. The blonde takes up a path on Twists’ left and just behind her, but with some distance so she is not feeling like she is about to be attacked. The ghouls are glancing side to side, apparently keeping domain awareness of the rat-infested hallway and caterer flecked lobby as the trio moves for the door. They move like line backers protecting the football- the painting Twist bears.
In moving to the door, the trio passes where Melanie had been watching the backs of the ghouls. Mable had seen this through her use of Cheval. As the trio moves by, Melanie suddenly interferes. The woman of unknown Clan is lunging towards the painting, her arm outstretched for it.
“We have to destroy that, Ma’am.” The blonde one protests as Melanie swoops into the middle of the hallway, interfering with Twist and the ghouls forward progress. Melanie doesn’t listen to the ghoul or stop her action.
Three of the Kindred present knew precious intelligence that could have predicted exactly this sort of situation.
LobbySimone turns her head to the window for several beats. She tilts her head, scanning the alley below them.Quote:
"Mr. Kowalsic and Melanie are going to be a powder keg no matter what. He saw her Sire snatched up for a minor infraction, she's out for his Blood.
I've seen Melanie thrash some upstart who saw her as just a pretty little thing."
A sudden screech is heard as a Asian woman clutches her ankle. "It bit me!" She screeches, in full panic mode.
That does it. Nobody with a pulse wants anything to do with this exhibit any longer. The caterers abandon the food tray and start to rush the door. A tall Black man scoops up the crying woman and carries her across the threshold. The last man was a Black man of middling height, carrying a spare tire that stretched his white and black uniform. This man picks up a platter and opens it to reveal little meat pates - and sets it off to the side, on the floor.
"Eat that, you little ____ " He can be heard saying as he quick steps for the front door. This has the desired effect, and the rats in the lobby suddenly move for the northern wall of the lobby, freeing the doorway from the rat carpet.
Michael throws open the door and starts directing people outside. The caterers high tail it out, brushing into a small, intimate gathering that had been queing outside for the show.
"You don't want in!" Michael assures them. "This exhibit is shut down! Please contact the front office for details!" He is freaking out just a bit and trying valiantly to keep control of the situation.
Melanie is gunning for Twist. Twist seems to have the allegiance of these two ghouls, for the moment.
Charles 19, Edward 15, Twist 11 | Dirt Nap 11 | Melanie 11, Mable 10, John 5
This puts Melanie at initiative 11, right with Twist and Dirt Nap and before Mable.
Charles has been walking on the side of the painting and uses his body to block Melanie from Twist. He pulls out his large pistol with practiced ease, suggesting that he's used to this sort of work. Melanie is leaning this way and that, light on her feet as she looks for a way past Charles. Metal glints on her right hand, suggestive that she is bringing something to this fight.
