(Broken Cycle) At the Speed of a Tik Tok

Sonnie's answer to John was to roll her eyes at him. "Whatever, dad."

Looking back to the others, she returned Titania's smirk, apparently misreading it as Can you believe that guy?

"Oh, I will be the best backup dancer! I got the moves, baby!" She nodded enthusiastically. "As for judges..." she gave it a moment's pondering, tapping a forefinger against her chin to demonstrate she was thinking. "What sort of judge should I be? Simon? Randy? Paula?"

"Sexy and cute. Like K-pop girls! They're hugely popular!" This was true. "We should really tap into that market!"

"Oh, thanks, Yami!" She happy accepted the M&Ms, popping a few into her waiting mouth. This shut her up... for maybe 30 seconds. Then came the singing...

"Life is like a hurricane, here in Monkeyburg...

Race cars, lasers aiiiiirplanes, it's a monkey-blur...

Might solve a mystery...

Or rewrite history...

MonkeyTales! Woo-oo!"

The earworm had begun.

[Circe]

Circe was well dressed for walking around in Funderland, carrying a laptop tote bag and a clipboard. Because when throwing on a scowl, speed walking, and carrying a clipboard usually translates to most people as I hope it is somebody else's problem.

It certainly made getting to the Tavern much easier. Circe has to use Glamour to open the door as she doesn't recall what the catch is. And blinks at the surprise of how many people are here. "Huh," she blurts out, "Guess I'm fashionable and late."

Walking in she looks around to those gathered before shrugging, "So I'm gonna guess this is a lil' more then my plan ta dig up dirt on the cultists? So, what's up?"

[James Turner]

Most of what was being said was Greek to him, he didn't understand half of it. Cottagecore? TikTok? Short videos trying to use the power of the masses belief against the Huntsman, he understood that much at least. Between Titania and Cassandra's interpretation he understood what they wanted though and he gave a short not. "Got it, I can do that." Censor, he was to be the Censor.


Commentary on the song and what might be the catchiest wasn't entirely out of his wheelhouse at least. "Yea, something with hooks in it. That Chorus you just can't get out of your head" It's the final Countdown! A small shake of his head, a soft laugh rumbling from his lips as those iconic chords were now playing on repeat in his own head unable to escape.


A small nod to Yamiyo, "Exactly what I was thinking. Can you check material out? More eyes on something is always better." Then the topic shifted to outfits and that's something he wasn't going to touch with a ten foot pole, he wasn't about to be the only guy in a room talking about sex appeal or how they should dress. Nope. Not going to happen. He just remained quiet at that. "Multiple languages only matters if your platform extends to those regions." He could at least comment on that.


"Don't make me turn this car around." He joked, sticking his tongue out at Sonnie with a soft laugh, it at least seemed to have the intended effect for now. As Circe made her way into the room he looked around and took the reigns so the others wouldn't have to again. "I believe the plan is to take The Huntsman's story and twist it to our needs. Rewrite History as Sonnie put it. Use the power of the masses belief and the power of pop to spread an idea like a virus. Something like that?" The last part was definitely a question, it had been his understanding which was lacking in this field.

[Titania]

"Very well then. It seems we have reached on agreement on the general outline of the plan. Now we need to execute", she casts a forlorn look, clearly the Hedge was no such place.
Luckily the arrival of Circe, provides the occasion for a fruitful mental leap. The Smurfette is after all a fixer, "Hello", she acknowledges with a smile,
"we were just devising a plan to attack our foe's resources"

[Cassandra Reeding]

"I definitely think the best option would be to take a song we already know and change up the lyrics. So many choices though. If we see a particular piece that is trending right now, that might be the best way to go about it." She says with an excited smile, "And yes, John, exactly like that."

"Obviously composing is what I do,and again assistance is happily wanted and needed, but not too overboard on help. We need to figure out what kind of story we want to weave together first. Lyrics and then melody." After all, music was quite literally her area. She wants the help, but she also doesn't want loud figures in her face while she is trying to put it together. Too many ideas will muddle it.

She waves at Circe as she enters, "Hey there, Circe."

Smiling a bit and softly moving her head to a unheard rhythm.
"Can you imagine the joy of being one of those K-pop girls, ohh how wonderful that would be. To stand on the stage and wear all their cute outfits." Dreaming herself away for a moment something she was far to good at, snapping back with a small hard to notice shudder as she was called Yami, she really hated that nickname.

Getting up and doing a light curtsy as the Queen entered.
"Welcome Circe hope all is well with you."

Lightly shrugging towards James.
"That depends on the material, they have some material that is not for checking out I think but even then so should I be able to take photos of the text at least. I can go there tomorrow and see." Taking a moment before replying. "True however if we wanna rewrite a story so are there two possibilities either you just affect one region in which case it's not needed or you need the collective belief in the world in which case it's good to reach as many corners we can. Especially China have some heavy censoring so to dig your way into the right places there and spread it in Mandarin there could give us millions of extra people."

Tapping her notepad.
"So what do we want the story to be then?" Softly humming Sonnie's Monkeyburg song.

"Yo, Circe! How's it hangin'?" the Beast waved to the blueberry elf, while practicing her dance moves. She stood behind Titania, and off to the left. That's where a back-up dancer was supposed to be! Thankfully, she was not twerking. Yet.

"Daaaaaaad! Can we stop at McDonald's for chicky nuggies?" She snickered. "Isn't Tik Tok owed by a Chinese company?" She'd heard that somewhere.

Looking back to Circe, she grinned, "Anyway, yeah, we're gonna make a Tik Tok to troll Antlerhead, with all the cottagecheese and buy rates." It's possible she misheard some of Cassandra's terminology.

[Circe]

"Thanks. I'm good," she acknowledges the various greetings. As for Sonny's question about Tik Tok's owners, "Yes. Which is why I don't use it."

"Huh," she puts down the clipboard to fold her arms with a nod. It was a unique approach. "So basically a propaganda campaign? Hoping that the whole story-Wyrd connection will effect it? Is his story on Tik Tok? "

Because depending on how old and devoted the cultists were, it could work. Making the Keeper uncool could drive away some idiots who were only in the group for the thrills or mystique or whatever. Oh and for that matter. "I had thought of a more direct digital approach ta his followers," she pats her laptop case, "But if ya wanted me here ta help with props or something, I do know some mundy guys fer overstock."

He gave a small nod acknowledging Yamiyo’s words as he shifted in the room to take a perch so he can keep an eye on everyone and the doors. “Yes, and you have to see the limits of that medium and how your media is distributed. Cart before the horse otherwise. No need to plan a song in six languages, in six different cultural nuances if it’s not needed. Anyway, if it’s a hit, it’ll spread of its own volition.” A soft shrug before going still again. That was assuming any of this worked to begin with.

“We should probably familiarize ourselves with the original tale but my thoughts are simple. Every story needs an end doesn’t it?” A singular brow raised, they could change who it was or dictate its end. Both would be even better.

A lot of smart ideas were floating around, and she's just filled with the hope that they might make it. "Very well, then. We should research the tale first, then split the work. Of course we can't use technology from here. Should we inform Sera, she might want to help with singing and the tailorwork", then, she addresses Circe, "What did you have in mind, to deal with the cultists, I mean"
