Wondering where the others went, taking solace in the fact that what happens here is not true and as such they most likely did not suffer any damage from what just occurred but still she wanted to no needed to try and follow them.
Focusing her mind to try and find their trail but for naught, the area around her pushing her back far to easily to stand a chance.

If she cannot make it this far, Miss Lillich is more a liability than a boon.

Rhodes pursed his lips. "If they failed to navigate the dream, as it appears, we cannot afford the time to wait for them. Seek them if you wish, but remember we have a job to do. Depenedents on our success. Worst case, she awakens. Or, when one is lost, one often returns to the point of origin - that is, her dream. Others may die if we do not press on."

Hard? Perhaps. But it was Sera on the other side, and she would not awaken if killed in her task.

That could not happen.

The Dread Lord's face twisted into a malicious smirk. "But unlock? Oh my, no. There are many kinds of subtlety, and dreams harbour so, so many.... yet none are any use here." Autumn had it's fair share of discretion, but this was misdirection. Drawing focus to the left hand that their enemy would ignore the right. They were the distraction, and the more diffcult a distraction was to ignore, the better.

He raised his arms, staff in hand, and began to work his magic.

The Dread Lord, the Oneiromancer calls upon the Contract made of Dreaming, the Clause that will allow him to shape this clearing into something else he feels the Glamour take, the Clause working, until.

Something stops him.

A force unlike any he'd met before in this Dreaming Realm, something, someone was stopping him.

There was no argument from the Onyx, silence being his agreement in this case. His fear was palpable though, filled with uncertainty and regret. Yamiyo was the lucky one here, having failed to make it this far to be in the subconscious of the beast. Were they in the subconscious or just patient zero? There was dream poison here either way and from Rhodes’ lesson you had to deal with that by scouring it. It would make the dream less intense and thus easier to manipulate.

It would also be quite a distraction, that’s what they wanted right? He didn’t know what the plan was here, didn’t know what his role was but he couldn’t just sit idle. He knew he had to do his best to not shatter the dream and this might serve as a distraction as well so he reached out to the threads that made the dream. The connections that held it together, the hedge, the gate, Arcadia itself. He reached out and touched it cutting a single strand from it.

He took a deep breath the work being a lot harder than he’d initially anticipated when he heard the lock click, his heart dropping down into his stomach as he looked to Rhodes. “Tell me that was you.”

Finding herself back in her own dream, sighing over her own uselessness regretting that she had thought that she could ever begin to be of use in this mission.
Her own dreamscape shaping around her but for now that was not something she had the time to care about, a cascade of rose petals swirling around her as she tries to shape a gateway to find the others, trying to walk through it only to find herself in a new dream a much more pleasant one standing on the water of a endless sea, the stars shining brightly above filling it with a serene calm but still the dream was her own and not where she wanted to go.

Sorry I was a bit tired there, if James roll lessens her negative modifier by one so would she get one die and not a chance die and I did roll an 8 which would mean her success. I am not sure if that counts to her roll or not though.

Rhodes begins advancing towards the gates, looking for all purposes like he owned the dreama nd everything in it.

For the Lost within the Clearing dream, the real to life imagery around them looses the harsh lines of actuality fading into something just slightly, less. It doesn't, however change that after the Gate unlocks, the impossibly large door swings, slowly...open. Squeaking and creaking on the hinges.
