He looked to Aurora nodded in agreement but shrugged. "If it's anything like a spider the webbing tells it exactly where we are. Trying to turn it around is a good idea, worth a shot at least." Then Phoenyx knocked at the ceiling and gave everyone the order. He pushed the butt of the shotgun into the meat of his shoulder and looked down the length of it lining up the hatch with the iron sights.
Naga gave her report and he shook his head. Not good, definitely not good. This was going to be like fighting Nightcrawler from X-men. "Sounds like it doesn't have any troubles going back and forth. We should probably circle up, remove our blind spots."
A shrug, sounded like a good idea to her.
She can’t really ‘aim’ at the hatch, as she has no weapons, but she chooses to watch around them. Sure, there was something up there, but there was still a room they couldn’t get into with a hole in the wall. If they all focused on the ceiling, it could leave them open.
And she wasn’t about to throw spells around until she saw what they were dealing with.
Glancing to Naga, “Or it simply stopped moving?” either was a possibility.

Phoenyx stared, thinking. It hadn't responded to the wood. But Naga said it had moved, though not in the way she's expected. The wood moved up into the roof space at her silent command.
Time to be more direct. She began muttering in the Atlantean tongue.

The Arrow flushed slightly, then scowled. That was embarrassing. Her tone grows more forceful as she wills the spell into shape.

That shit ain't real
A set of rickety-looking steps shimmer into semi-existance up to the access. They're clearly meant to be wood, but they look whispy? Hazy, as if seen through badly pescribed spectacles. Certainly not real, at any rate.
"I'm going up," she said simply. "We have to know if it's gone across. Guru, behind me. Everyone else, keep watch. If it can move between worlds at will, it may move around us."
The Arrow moves forward confidently, but she can't help but feel a small moment of relief when the first step holds her weight. Pistol in hand, she focuses on the hatch above and starts moving up.

The mage's hold their positions. And wait.
And wait.
Nothing appears to happen. Kaze and Aurora keep watch around them but don't see or hear anything out of the ordinary. Its a cheap house, now suffering some neglect and damage. It creaks and settles. There is a draught coming in through the back bedroom - a window must be open quite wide.
Anima can barely see anything through the webbing that festoons the adjacent space in the Shadow Realm. He thinks he sees something moving but i is really hard to say what.
Guru had the right idea, lining up the entrance into the attic with his long arm - but again, nothing comes through.
Only Naga with her space-wrapped vision notes the very subtle popping of the ceiling, as though a heavy weight was poised above the group.
Phoenyx makes the first move: chanting over and over again before a stair shimmers into existence. The object hangs just like an attic stair should but wobbles dangerously as the Arrow begins to carefully ascend. Yet the object makes no sound.
Kaze nods silently at Phoenyx's command for everyone but her and Guru to keep watch. He finds himself watching Naga as much as any other feature of the surrounding environment, figuring that if she freezes and can't sound a coherent warning, he can still use her as an early warning system if she suddenly reacts.

Eyes glazed, as his vision is not of this world, the shaman tracks movement in the realms beyond.
The idea of something like an abyssal spider needing a door is foolish notion; the shaman scoots back down the stairs a step, pulling the small knife from his pocket. The talon's ascent, guru's training on the door, the risk of an assault from shadow. It all demands action, even if he must risk himself by being the one to draw the things attention, draw it's ire.
His voice is almost ethereal as the high speech incantation rolls from his Tongue. The ancient words have a rhythm, a pulse, the drumbeat of will work. An imago flairs into being, it's bright yellow sigil announcing it's presence.
"Be Still," the doctor commands in sigil and word. His posture and presence authoritative inspired by his ancient queen, a new predator has come to town.

"No," she whispered towards Aurora, "My spell senses everything in the house. Moving or not. It's just not there anym--" Naga stops speaking as her eyes dart towards the sense of movement. It was reflex, as she didn't have to look directly at it to see it.
A step back was taken as she trained her gun on the ceiling. "Above us!"
She didn't fire. Not yet. No, the Warlock waited, despite her growing sense of fear. Waited for the right moment. Waited for the Arrows, far better trained for this sort of thing, to decide.
Still, she moved back to get out from under the subtle shifts of the ceiling.
"I gotchu." He whispered softly as Phoenyx walked up one stair then another, then he followed along behind her. The shotgun resting comfortably in his shoulder the weight of it a comfort. The sheer destructive potential in his hands a calm and cold comfort. Must be an odd sight, the peace loving hippie wielding a shotgun being wingman to the soldier in front.
He smirked a bit at the thought, his eyes open, head on a swivel. He couldn't just wait for movement it had to be the right movement. He took one deep breath, then another, getting his breathing slow and steady, keeping his heart under control and keeping his nerves in check. Finger still not on the trigger, needing to maintain discipline to not accidentally shoot his friends.
Going up?
One way to do things. But she wasn’t letting Phoenyx go up there without a shield. Sure, she was sure the Arrow probably already had one. But Aurora had a feeling hers was a bit better, because, Life Master.
Touching the bracelet on her wrist, she calls out to her magic to wrap Phoenyx and Kaze in the warmth of Life’s protection. As she feels the spell take hold, she hears Anima, and looks his way. What was he up to?
Then came Nagas voice and warning. Blue eyes snap up and instinctively, she backs up. Holding an arm out, trying to protect Naga. As a Life Master, she felt it was her place to keep them safe.

Aurora casts Organic Shield on Phoenyx and Kaze, it's a level 5 shield, so they can take it, or not.

Phoenyx ascended the "steps". While tring to be cautious, it was clearly not something she was used to. Casting her eyes around, se looked for the creature.

She could hear the warning from below, and looked around carefully. Aurora's spell on the Arrow failed to take hold, suggesting a more potent shield already in place.
Checked result of casting shield spells over an existing spell with Yumyumcrow here.
Technically Phoenyx is a Trained Observer.... but obviously not so observent right now I fear!
