Lost in thoughts, walking up and down the streets of the city, hour's passing by, the moon rising. Looking up at it and wondering how many other lonely people were staring at the same moon right now? How many whom wished that they had someone standing next to them or whom were missing someone they loved?

Keeping on walking, now heading homewards to go to bed, taking a shortcut through one of the city's parks, it was quite peaceful here at night however one never knew what dangers could lurk inside of a park especially after the sun had set. Before long seeing two men coming from opposite sides, one quite young and seeming a bit insecure, probably a college student based on his attire and his bag the other impossible to tell just some run of the mill standard person you could see anywhere. The two bumping into one another, a quick apology before continuing on for the young man it was just a mistake and one that had left him relieved it wasn't worse but she could clearly see what had happened, it might be an easy thing to miss for most people but for a trained thief like herself so was it obvious that a wallet had exchanged owner.
The thief walking towards her, freezing, locked in thoughts would it be wrong to steal the wallet? She would be stealing it from a thief after all? Wouldn't that be alright? The man getting closer and closer towards her, her hands itching, mind going blank not knowing what to do, everything going blank, the next few seconds gone from her mind. the man already several yards away from her, her hands holding something heavy, looking down noticing the wallet resting in her hands.

Heh seems like my skill hasn't rusted at least.

Counting the money in the wallet, finding nearly 2000$ inside of it, no wonder the college kid had looked nervous, well stealing from a thief might not be wrong but keeping it certainly were, taking out a pen writing a quick message on one of the smaller bills "you were pick pocketed in the park" before looking after the man, hastening her pace until she caught up with him, quickly walking past him whilst returning the wallet to his pocket, wishing she could have kept it, feeling her fingers trying to betray her on the way but this was the right thing to do.
A small smile upon having done the right thing, who knows maybe karma would reward her for this deed.

Finally returning home, her legs tired and cheeks a bit cold, she was not prepared to be out this late and the spring nights were still chilly, walking up the stairs to her apartment floor, turning the corner as something quickly came against her, gasping for air as the fist struck her stomach, a masked man screaming something at her, unable to focus it was impossible to make out his words, a second strike coming this time aiming for her face but this time she was prepared and danced around the fist running towards her apartment door, screaming thats when it happened the world starting to spin around her, not able to keep her balance, falling down in front of her door, the man catching up, grabbing her hair, preparing to strike her once more as a bat was swung right next to them, missing the man by no less than an inch.

There was her neighbor, threatening the assailant, the assailant shouting something and then quickly running away.
Her neighbor, a man in his mid 40s not exactly a looker and seldom far from a beer looking down at her.
"You all right neighbor?"
Her world still spinning, barely being able to make a sound just a slow nod.
The neighbor leaning down and picking her up like she weighted nothing
"You can rest in my bed until you're feeling better"
Caring her into his apartment, lying her down on his bed and getting her a glass of water, exiting the room letting her recover in piece.
10-15 minutes passed before her mind finally calmed down, sitting up and drinking the water, walking out to find the man sitting in front of the tv.
"Thank you, if it wasn't for you I don't know what he would have done"
The man looking at her, softly laughing
"Neighbors looks out for one another, should be human's looking out for one another but since we don't seem to be able to do that so can we at least look out for our neighbors, besides you're both a lot better looking and a lot quieter than the old neighbor wouldn't want one like that again"
Laughing a bit again, Yamiyo looking down not knowing what to say.
"Hurry on home now you must be dying to get into your own home and feel safe, just leave the glass I will get it."

Not knowing how to act she simply curtsies and hurries home, opening her new safe door, getting inside and locking it, locking the extra lock, putting on the two reinforced chains, yeah no mortal would be able to get through this door not without making a lot of noise at least.
Feeling a bit safer after that, taking of her clothes and watching over her stomach, it still hurt and was probably gonna bruise but he hadn't hit anywhere that should leave her with any internal injuries, the best thing to do were simply to get a heat package and go to bed, so much for karma rewarding her for stealing the wallet and returning it to it's rightful owner.
