With Sonnie away dealing with the Winter, Bugul would turn his attention back to Titania after a brief glance at the unknown Lost.
"You should ice your ankles when the night is over," he said as he took a drink of water, "That was a nasty fall."
Several actually.
Sonnie's method of dealing with people was direct, but Bugul's was not. It was best to remain on the newcomer's periphery, lest he suspect the Lost of Sacramento were watching him. Thus, carrying on like any other evening seemed liked the best plan.

To the Darkling, the other Changeling is a clear picture. The defeated slump of his shoulders, the coal flame gaze pinned at the middle distance. The way he hadn't even reacted to the increased prescience of the Lost in the Dinner even though he was staring out of the window the door was facing....
He was depressed. Grieving. In pain.

Dreaming, Cloak of the ElementsSomething was nibbling at the back of Sonnie's mind. Two details trying to match up together in her simian scatterbrain.
The stranger is possibly an Elemental, and he seems to be fire-oriented.
The motel where Abe died had burned down.
Fire Elemental.
Burned down.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.... OH!

The light bulb was on. At least she didn't scream her conclusion out loud in a fit of excitement.
She looked to James, and knowing she had no time to explain what was going on, especially in public, she merely smiled and shrugged. "Let's go say hi!"
Sure, Bugul and the Darkling might want to remain circumspect, but Sonnie... ha ha ha, no. Spring monkeys didn't do subtle.
The Steepscrambler strode right on over to the unknown Lost's table and helped herself to a seat. The direct approach was underway!
"Hey there! You okay? You look like you're new in town," she said to the Elemental, smiling in her usual gregarious manner.

John was a hard book to read either way, there'd been no point hiding who he was from the other Lost especially now that Sonnie had walked up to him. He watched the emotion dance across her face and saw her eyes light up as there was a sudden revelation there he wasn't aware of. He nodded his head in response to her statement.
"You lead, I'll back you up. If there's anything buried there, I can dig it up."
He gave a crooked half smile as he stood, coffee still in hand and doing everything he could to avoid looking over at Titania. He needed clear head and calm heart right now. Eyes closing for a second as Sonnie had decided to invite herself over.
"Sorry for the intrusion but you looked like you could use a friendly face or two."
He offered a sympathetic smile and soft eyes to the Elemental as he took a seat next to Sonnie, one hand holding his coffee mug as the other folded softly across it. Sonnie was the Hammer and John was the knife. If he'd been able to put a bead on her he assumed her tact was going to be about as subtle as a brick to your face. He was here to read the eddies and flows and be the sympathetic ear in the other Lost's corner.
In other words, good cop, bad cop just...different.

The diner around continues on as it had been, though more then a few regulars are giving Sonnie and James wide eyed stares. Who's mouths fall open on some faces when the man speaks.
The Flameheart, coal eyed man, jerks from his reverie to stare at Sonnie. Then, lets loose a derisive snort. "Yeah, and I'm a monkey's uncle." A laugh, "We related sweetheart, no? Tch." going back to the coffee, black and cold. "What the fuck do you want?" His cracking voice sounds tired. The rainfall of his mantle, spatters, and steams away.
The Waitress, uncaring of the scene takes quick steps towards Titania and Bugul.
"They know him?" she asks in a hush.

Mantle Dreaming, Cloak of the ElementsWhat did she want? Honestly, Sonnie had not thought this whole approach out very far. Mostly she was just gauging the Fireheart's reactions. So far, nothing unexpected.
She smiled pleasantly at the Monkey's Uncle joke. Hardly the first time she'd heard that one, but it still carried some amusement for her. "Naw, pretty sure I'd remember you from the family reunions."
"Well, we're from the local rotary club, and we saw you over here and thought we'd come say hi. Maybe vett you a little. I'm sure you know how it goes." She shrugged like it was routine, and what she said was indeed true, regardless of her code word for the freehold. "You can call me Mai Ling. What's your name, dude?"
The Beast, to her credit, was trying to stay abreast of the stranger's emotional state and maybe catch him in some lies?
