"Hn", he smirks, "saturated fats and complex carbos are the anti-Viagra"
But the time for small talk is over, and a more relevant topic soon catalyzes his attention. It's with a simple flick of his fingers that his defenses spring up, and the Guardian is served the tools of the trade.
"You know", he points at the maws, "it's kind of counter-intuitive. Scaring people away but at the same time inviting them inside... because... you know, a door is an invitation to enter. Somebody couldn't make up his mind"

Briar Rose has been studying the murals while the banter flowed. At first blush, she does think that a local artist or two was involved in the paintings. A second thought gnaws at her first assumptions. A third, more careful look, disabuses her that any local artist had direct involvement in the artwork.
But someone definitely likes their individual styles enough to mimic them.
Another possible scenario is that some of the local talent put up some of the figures, and then another crew built the mural's around them (perhaps even modifying the original art to fit their purpose). She'd need to make a closer study to know for sure.
Let me know when you wish to move closer...
"Interesting...." she murmurs, eyeing the mural, the lines and flow. Colour choice, and how the art layers upon itself. "No one local was sirectly involved with this, copy cat, or maybe an admirer did this. Layering up on what was already there, and making it work." Knowing there was more to glean if she wracked her mind after what she knew about the art scene in Sacramento, and elsewhere, but for now...
Stepping closer still she eyes the smaller details, the lines and twists and turns. Wondering perhaps of the symbolism.

That's a fun surprise. Get three or four Molly drops into a night and try to execute the coup de grace and... nada. Side note? He's never had anyone watch what he eats before the way Winter does. Maybe the guy is a health nut. Maybe he's just looking for something to bond over. A scrape accompanies the flick of a lighter just before the lit cigarette sends the acrid sweetness of burning tobacco wafting. Each time the cigarette comes up for a drag, he dipped his head down to meet it. And each time the angle was slightly different, letting him turn to study their surroundings discreetly. Nobody's getting ambushed while staring at the ugly house. Not on his watch.
"No...," he waggled long fingers at the house. Spells. The copy-cat angle is hardly surprising. Heck. He's done it himself. "Means it's good to go, right?"
The angel was suddenly in motion with lazy stride that ate up ground with his long legs.
"Someone's gotta go first. Breaking the seal. Charge of the light brigade. Run if I scream. Run faster if I didn't have time to."
Star is clearly intending to enter the front door.
Derp, derp derp derp derp. Knew I'd forgotten something!
This should be included with my most recent post, my apologies!

She can't help but shiver at Star's words, fear and more twining. Danger gleaming, it tears her away from the paint. "But what if I wanna watch?" she asks, following after the man she'd likened to a chinchilla, but this heading straight into the gaping maw...
Yes please.
A wicked grin blooms, her mind'll churn as it wants. If someone had painted this wonderfully sinister monster, would they have stolen their way inside and painted beat's belly to match?
Briar Rose'll follow Star into the house.

And without further ado, they enter the Maws of this thing... whatever it is. The Guardian tails the group, last in line. "Points for creativity. Could be a drug den, now that I think about that"

The lemon-y taste that was just starting to fade was back again with Winter's spells taking hold. A soft hissing sound escaped as he sucked his tongue up against the roof of his mouth in a futile attempt to dispel it so that he could feel ... anything. Else. Either Winter's stingy, or doesn't see the point with B-Ro already streaking. Cloaked Spells

"A drug den?"
A knee quickly followed by an elbow thump-thumped against the door in an approximation of a knock as he watched the jamb by the handle.
"Don't tease me with a good time."
Probably not what it sounds like, yo.
They cross the street unmolested. Gravel, dirt, and weeds scrunch beneath their feet.
Sleeper's might have said there was a 'vibe' around the place but the mage's discover nothing dramatic on the outside of building. There was no obvious swing or surge in the Resonance or sign of obvious spell craft.
A very faint scent of incense clung to the air as they neared the door.
The door is unlocked. When Star thumps on the door, it creaks open on poorly maintained hinges - slowly opening about half way.
The revealed interior is ruined: a mess of broken interior walls and hanging wires. At one time, someone had outfitted the building with a lot of new wiring and electrics; and then later some other people had had great fun ripping it all out. There were more murals too, in the same street style as on the outside of the building - angels and demons and birds - leading to grungy stairwell.
Dark spots and ash; bedding and trash, spoke of occupation - but there was no one to challenge or accost the mages as they gathered at the threshold. Again, a faint scent of hash and incense.
A bell tinkled from upstairs.
She's disappointed. Outside is so beautiful, the interior could have been, something to see, and yet. Seeing the ash, trash. Stains and debris...the skeletal structure, and the veins....yes. Now she sees. She had been expecting paint, but this. There was a beauty to this too.
Upstairs, Briar Rose, bets they're going up there.
A bell was ringing. Tink, tink, tinkling tooo~ She doesn't hum, but the rest of the song's roving through her mind. Frowning to herself she presses her Will out. Grabbing onto the Wilds, and weaving an imprecise golden glyph into (heh) life.
First wave. People?
