(Grimoire Hunt) Let the Record Show

[Kaze]

Kaze nods to Pixel, amiably enough, and on the way back Kaze shows him the message board before they enter the shop. "Look at this. See that? The part about people from Sacramento? You might need to take a minute and really look, to see what it's really talking about." Kaze directs Pixel to the coded announcement about reporting mages from Sacremento.

[Abacus]

"When?"

A meeting? A convention? A concert merch table?

If he could feel her out, it wouldn't be a far departure to assume that she could sense the presence of his will-work. Nonetheless, he subjected the nexus of her shared destinies, Striga's interconnections with the world and the people around her to his vision. It didn't need to be a deep thread, but a line outside of this store could lead him to true record keeper.

Striga Mortis watched as Abacus studied her. Her lip curled.

"Well I did hear something about... trade? I mean, you're asking a lot. Just arrive, buy some vinyl and expect us to divulge... months of our hard work? Keep your ear to the ground in the right places and you'll know."

The Enchanter is eager for information; perhaps too eager. He dives in and looses himself briefly in the skein wrapping around her.

Only Harmony and Satyricon seem to have cottoned on to what Pixel said, moments before he darted from the shop. The Rocker Billie simply stands with an open mouth. Satyricon shudders like a burst of electricity had shot through his central nervous system; he makes an inarticulate noise of shock and attempts to make eye contact with Striga while keeping an eye on Pixel when he returns with Kaze.

Kaze moves to catch up when Pixel emerges from the shop. Unfortunately for the Apostate Obrimos, the Libertine is too quick - and is hurrying back into the store even as the former Arrow is gesturing to the message board.

[Pixel]

There was a part of Pixel that wanted to cringe. The lulls in conversation as Abacus stared at people were pretty obvious after the first time or two. Add in the silence in response to the question Pixel had asked after returning to the shop and he was getting a pretty distinct feeling their welcome was running out.

"We're just looking for this Dark Revolution thing, not to force you to talk about anything you don't want to."

His hands go up as if to surrender, but his tone is firm enough to say he isn't.

"If you don't have it we won't keep pestering you, we just needed a place and time to start."

And with that he returns his attention to Kaze.

"Did I hear you say you saw something?"

Equipment- Messenger bag containing sketch book, pencils, two water bottles, box of cookies, small stack of cliff bars, and a school book or two for downtime studying.

Kaze sighs softly, subtlety was just not a thing that seemed to work out for him.

"Oh yeah, Hi." Kaze says to the people in the shop standing with the two mages he came with, from Sacramento.

"I was trying to get your help figuring out that cool announcement board out there. I could have been reading it wrong, but it looked like anyone coming up from Sacramento was a thing, like to report?" He asks.

Kaze looks around. "What's that all about?"

[Abacus]

"You're right. Forgive me, if I seemed imposing."

He doesn't buy anything. Now that he knew this was an Awakened operation run by the Assembly, he had no desire to give them a sympathetic hook that they could reel. He was connected enough to have a better time sniffing around for this meetup. Surely there couldn't be that many of them.

"Thank you for your time."

He had very little doubt that they'd be seeing more of each other. He considered the ramifications as he left the store, the other two sure to follow.

Or not.

Kaze smiles, shrugs, and follows Abacus out with a little wave. He deliberately does not look suspiciously alert by looking all around or backing out of the store without turning his back on the people inside, though he is tempted.

[Pixel]

"What are you looking for? I'm not above a favor for a favor if you got something on your mind."

While Abacus might have been happy to leave here, Pixel wasn't so sure that was a good idea. Not after what Kaze just said.

"But first, why don't you tell us about this whole reporting of Sacramento mages thing my friend just mentioned."

If mages were being reported there wasn't a lot of reason for the people who popped up, threw around some scrutiny, asked a bunch of questions, and stomped off without even buying anything to not be reported.

[Yumyumcrow]

Harmony barks a sarcastic laugh from the counter when Abacus and Kaze leave. Tellingly, she looked at the small pile of vinyl the group had, apparently, been in the process of purchasing (items drawn from their guided tour / survey of the shop).

Striga Mortis simply stands, mouth open. Slowly her lips close, forming a crooked line as her carefully manicured eyebrow arches.

Satyricon looks like he is still trying to process what has just gone down.

Striga fixes Pixel with a hard eye. "Well. I'll be happy to trade information for information. You can tell me about... Consilium of Sacrament. We know so little about it. Apart from some sort of magic curse and nightmare weird shit. The Golden Consilium lost a whole cabal trying to reach you guys a few years back."

The Libertine's glare softened so did her pose. She folded her arms, tilted her head to one side. And waited for a response.

And now you are here. One could almost imagine her saying or thinking.

Harmony giggled at Striga's bold audacity. Satyricon remained in a stiffened posture and gave Striga a warning concerned look.
