Pixel follows Abacus into the building and is immediately struck by the ambiance. The place just seemed so old with their CD's and whatever those booths were supposed to be for. Not that old was bad. This Free Councilor happened to be interested in old things. MC Escher's tessellations and op art topped his list, but he had room for music as well.

"Lead on fearless leader." He smiles to his fellow Councilor. Preferring to let Abacus choose the path to his prize.

Weight. Salience. Fate's webs clung slightly closer to some of the people in this room. Whether it was due to his arrival, the overall weight of the grimoire, or the fact that four magi had focused their attention on this hovel of a music shop, or the strange occurrence of an abandoned street by the homeless. Those sorts of variables were things he could weight with a simple glance towards the Arcadian twilight.


But for the moment, he made his way to the front desk, where hopefully the proprietor would be guarding their wares.


Hopefully, it would be Striga.


Was there a bell on the desk? That would be convenient. He decided to wait, with a hand in his pocket, sculpting the mudra in the shadow of his coat. The weight of the Rocker Billie and the Skin Head still fresh in his mind. He had a sneaking suspicion and he hoped all of his research into Schattenbahn would aid in his Knowing.


His vision is appallingly mundane. The light of Arcadia is dim and not forthcoming. His fingers tense in his pocket, as if to claw through the web. He pictured the Imago as if nothing else mattered except the complete and utter Truth.

Shodan returns to the coffee shop, makes a purchase. The shop is not full by any means, but it has a buzz, a vibe. And the coffee smells good.

Returning back up the alley, the Obrimos Libertine takes a second look at the doors and garages. Security expert he is not, but he does possess a craftsman's eye. The garages and doors are protected by standard locks - nothing fancy or special. With the application of common sense and a little imagination, he can limit the garage attached to the shop's lot down to one possibility (it is on the right side of the alley and is closest to the shop). The garage door looks no different from any of the others - just a few extra posters mark it out.

The wall is mixed - part high wooden fence, part brickwork. Shodan is reasonably fit; he reckons he could climb it - but getting the required boost might be difficult in the confines of the alley.

Shodan could peer into the shop. There are some small windows in the alley but they are at a difficult angle to reach. There are larger windows along the store's street front - painted over, so again he could do it but it would look obvious to a passing observer.

Pixel see's nothing odd or out of the ordinary in the shop. He gets an occasional noise from whatever is in the upper storeys but there is nothing obviously magical in the shop. His flesh prickles in the response to magic, but that could be Abacus as much as anyone else.

The rocker billie and the shaven headed man appear in some of the photographs on the walls. So does a very authentic looking goth queen.

Abacus struggles with his spell, his spells digging momentarily into his aura as he casts.

Neon noodles. Fine glowing filaments connect everything in a layered web. Given the structure and thickness of that web's weave, his assessment of the shaven headed man and the rocker billie are most likely correct - they also have a link, of some kind, to an object in the CD racks; the other fellow has some sort of connection to the rocker billie and a fair chunk of the memorabilia. If the Enchanter wanted to dig into the depth of their connections, he'd have to put in some effort*.

Rocker Billie smiles an impish smile through manicured lips.

"Hey," she drawls in an affected voice. Her voice is more grating than smokey. She tilts her head curiously. If she is a mage, she has just clocked Abacus as Awakened.

*Interconnections has gone off without a problem. As per RAW core p148 - Abacus will need to scrutinise each person (a Wits + Empathy + Fate roll, extended) to obtain information on their most powerful / most secret connections.

Kaze pauses at the notice board, still trying to read the actual notices for any arcane or hidden information.

"Morning. Is this your store?"

The threads were spun throughout this place, a web woven through his Knowing. Like small reflecting pools, he could dive into them. Conversation prompted eye contact. Vision granted information. But all knowledge comes with a price. He was surrounded by those like him.

And they knew. Still, he dove into Rocker Billie's threads, to see the trammels that nailed her into the Loom.
