[Titania]

"It could be everything", she says, trying to dispel the gloom. But the fact she softly murmurs a Requiescat in pace betrays her intentions.
She picks the receipt holding it close to her gaze. "What I find odd is that the Fire spared this particular room. A fireproof door?", she remarks, "A receipt, from a restaurant nearby", she reads it aloud.

[Saber Sloth]

Sonnie makes her announcement, her want and Desire for closure, colouring her perceptions. The stain on the ground isn't large enough to have been all the blood stolen from the Knight. But it was a stain, brown, that shouldn't be here.

While, Titania ponders the fireproof nature of the room, the complex, elevated and separate from the main body of the motel.
Bugul 's still sifting through debris, but the three know there are more rooms to check...

Sorry if I wasn't clear in my narration, but I wanted to try and clear somethings up.

[Sonnie Wu]

"No. Wait..." Sonnie's frown got deeper as she stared at the stain. "Too small." Beasts sometimes jumped to the wrong conclusions. The feral Seeming struggled with making those leaps of logic that mortals took for granted.

It is raining, therefore the street is wet. Everyone understood the logic.

The street is wet, therefore it rained. Possible, but such a conclusion ignored other possibilities.

There's a brown stain, therefore it is blood. It is blood, therefore Abraham died here.

Sonnie blinked and shook her head. Her monkey brain got ahead of itself again. Slow down. Think. Observe.

It suffused her skin. Her senses sharpened to amazing levels. Now, with her heightened perceptions, the Courser leaned her face down to sniff at the weird brown stain.

No, wait. That's the wrong piece of Trivia! "Ahem, I meant blood. Yes, Blood. The average adult holds about 1.2 to 1.5 gallons of blood inside his body"
"The stain is too small. Besides, the room would still smell of copper"
Poor monkey, she might have removed a thorn with a knife, but she was still an amateur. All the while, she checks her bruises with her pocket mirror.

[Bugul]

Bugul rises from his failure with a plain look. Finding evidence in the ashes was proving to be difficult, but it seemed the others had found fruit.

Walking near the pair, Bugul looks to the stain and then the receipt.

"Hmm, perhaps the restaurant merits a visit, but it's placement here, after a fire, seems odd. The trash of looters?" Bugul asks.

Turning to the Monkey, Bugul gave her shoulder a pat.

"There are more rooms, we may yet find answers."

[Saber Sloth]

Sonnie awakens her senses, opening herself up to the wyrd bright world she left as she fled, when she hadn't needed catch and clause to scent what lay before her. What clings to the carpet is what she expected. The carpet, the dust and smoke. Some ground smells lifted off from shoes, but underneath and on top of all of it, is something Sonnie recognizes, or at least a close cousin, something that pings her memories and own associations, it smells like goblin fruit juice.


To Titania, her bruises as blossoming scarlet, the blood under her own skin, rushing to the surface. Soon, they're stain purple and blue.


What Bugul knows, is to work the trail, when overworking the brambles would bare fruit, or when it would slice the vine, causing death to the bush.

[Sonnie Wu]

"Yeah, I know it's too small. I just said that," Sonnie rolled her eyes in annoyance at the Fairest, then raised an eyebrow in confusion. "Wait, syrup? Dagnabit, Titania, this is not the time for pancakes! I do like where your head is at, though. First detective work, then pancakes!"

"Well," she said, still in a crouching position, "The restaurant sounds like a good lead, and if it's an IHOP, we can get the Glowbug here her panca..." The monkey trailed off from her joke as her nose detected something. She sniffed the air again, and lowered her face back down towards the carpet as she balanced easily on her feet. "Hey... goblin fruit juice? This stain was made with goblin fruit!"

[Titania]

Yet again she was the most valuable person in the party. Spokeswoman, healer and now even investigation specialist. Really, she rolled all tens in the lottery of life.
"That's what I said", she says, tapping an annoyed foot against the floor, still enthralled by her own reflection.
"Work first, eating later", she says coiffing her hair."Sir Abraham passed away here. Restrain your impulses and be serious, for once"

[Bugul]

Bugul grants Sonnie a nod.

"Then it seems we are led to the right chamber," he says, "Do we look elsewhere or must we venture to the Hedge?"

Then came Titania's elitism again and Bugul rolls his eyes.

"You can speak nothing of impulse, little jewel," Bugul said plainly, gesturing to the bruised ankles, "Your own impulses ail you. Work first, pleasure later."

[Titania]

"Hmm yes, yes, yes", she replies absentmindedly.
"Let me see, there should be a date", she notes of the receipt, "When did the fire occur, again?"
